Story
Meet Nisa! Nisa is a sweet, gentle girl around 11 months to 1 year old, and she gets more confident every single day. She started out shy, but her loving personality is shining through more and more as she learns that the world isn’t so scary. Nisa is currently in a foster home and having an absolute blast with her foster sister, Sallie Jo (also adoptable!). The two are best friends and love to play, snuggle, and spend time together. While they are not technically a bonded pair, they would be very happy to stay together if someone is looking to add two dogs to their family. Nisa does well with the other dogs in the home and really thrives around canine companions. She’s very food motivated, which makes her a fun and easy candidate for learning new tricks. She makes a great companion for snuggles on the couch, movie nights, hikes, car rides, or just being near her people. Nisa can still be a bit shy with new humans, but she’s blossomed so much and continues to gain confidence every day. Because she learns so well from other dogs, she will need another dog in the home to help her continue feeling secure and confident. If you’re looking for a loving, loyal, gentle girl who wants to be part of a pack and part of a family, Nisa is ready to meet you. *Adopters must live in Central Indiana, no more than 45 min from downtown Indy *Please visit website for how to adopt: https://sketchymuttsandunderdogs.org/adopt *Please note that we do not operate on a first come first served basis

Story
Meet Buddy! Buddy is a 2-year-old Border Terrier mix weighing about 40 pounds. He is fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped, making him ready to find his forever home. Buddy previously tested positive for a tick-borne illness but has completed treatment and is doing great. Buddy is a social, friendly boy who gets along well with dogs of all sizes. As with any dog, proper introductions are always recommended to set everyone up for success. He is both house trained and kennel trained, though in a new environment he may mark initially—this is normal and typically resolves as he settles in. Buddy walks beautifully on a leash and truly enjoys being around people. While he hasn’t had experience living with children, his affectionate and easygoing personality suggests he would do well in a home with kids, as long as interactions are supervised. This active pup would thrive with a family that enjoys an active lifestyle. He loves to run, play, and spend time with other dogs, making him a great companion for outdoor adventures or a home with a playful canine friend. Buddy is currently being fostered in LA FERIA, TX, but can be transported to an approved adopter outside of Texas. His adoption fee of $450 includes transport. If you’re looking for a fun, loving, and loyal companion, Buddy may be the perfect fit for your family! If you would like to be considered for adoption, pl

Story
Laszlo & Cassidy are a bonded pair and are volunteer favorites! Laszlo is a 7-year-old Corgi mix who weighs about 20 lbs. Cassidy is a 5-year-old terrier mix who weighs about 40 lbs. This duo will have your ribs hurting as you laugh at the fun when they are wrestling, playing chase and doing zoomies around the yard. Cassidy is a social butterfly and is always the first one to greet people at Waldo's Dog Dorm. She just thrives on attention and wants tons of loving. She's a very active girl who needs plenty of room to run. Cassidy loves toys and is fabulous with all other dogs and people. She was dumped at a kill shelter which is where we saved her. We have found that she becomes very anxious and fearful around children younger than 10 years of age; this has led us to believe that in her original home there were young children who didn't respect her space and pulled her fur/tail and traumatized her which is likely the reason for her being left at the shelter. Laszlo was a stray who survived at the Morgan County Fairgrounds from the time he was 6 months old until he was finally trapped at 18 months. He was totally feral when we got him and avoided people at all costs. However, this wonderful boy has learned that chest rubs and ear scratches are heavenly; Laszlo won't take treats until he is massaged and scratched; touch is his "love language" ... he craves it more than treats. Laszlo does still need continued rehabilitation after the trauma he experienced during his first year and a half of life. A quiet, loving, patient home with few visitors will be necessary for him. Because of his experience of having long choke tethers on the end of metal poles on him by animal control officers, he is still very fearful of leashes/harnesses. We will provide training techniques to whoever adopts him to help with this, but it's doubtful that her will ever be comfortable taking walks on a leash due to this past trauma. Both of these dogs have so much love to give. What you invest in them in time and love will be returned in spades! Their playfulness along with their love of being massaged & rubbed make them such wonderful family members who will bring smiles and joy to whoever adopts them. Their perfect home will have a VERY SECURE fenced-in yard, no children under 16; as well as a calm, peaceful environment with experienced dog owners who provide positive reinforcement and lots of praise. Whoever adopts Laszlo and Cassidy will be very lucky indeed! The adoption fee for the pair is $325; both are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped and kept on year-round heartworm/flea preventative.
