**Courtesy Post** Say hi to Buster! He is a 9 year old neutered male. He has lost the love of his life and needs a new home. He comes in at 28 pounds of love and affection. He's never been around kids or cats , but he is good with other dogs. He is a little shy around men, but warms up real quick for snuggles. He is up to date on vaccinations and has always been well behaved at the vet. Buster goes to the groomers and he loves it, plus is good about being put into boarding. He has a backyard now to run around in but sticks pretty close to people. He will continue to need a nice securely fenced yard. He knows basic commands, can be left alone while owner is out. He is a very good boy. Buster also loves his Chewy boxes and knows when you say the word he's getting a surprise. He loves to go for car rides and to play catch. Meet Poppy Introducing Poppy! Poppy is an adorable Shih Tzu / Border Terrier (and maybe even a little Dachshund?) mix who is approximately 6+ months old and currentlyweighs 25 pounds. We rescued this gal, along with who we believe to be her Brother Jay Jay, from the Cameron County shelter in south Texas near the border of Mexico. Poppy is a very sweet and social dog. She loves everyone she meets and is happy to hop in a warm lap and get lots of love and affection. She enjoys playing with her toys and really likes playing in the water her on warm Texas days. She is curious and loves to romp around and play here at the rescue. She gets along well with other dogs and is crate trained for her melas and for sleeping. Poppy is just a happy-go-lucky little lady and e can really see her doing we’ll growing up in just about any family environment. She would love to have a home and family of her own! Poppy is located at our rescue in Hondo, Texas and is available for transport to Allen Park, MI in June 15, 2024. She is spayed, up to date on all shots, microchipped and her adoption fee is $400. Meet Apollo Introducing Apollo! Apollo is an adorable Border Terrie mix who is approximately 1 year old and currently weighs 16 pounds. We rescued this cutie from the La Joya shelter in southTexas near the border of Mexico. We don’t know how he ended up there, but we just love this guy and can’t wait for him to find his forever home. Apollo is a sweet and social dog. He is still very much a puppy at heart and i playful and happy. H enjoys playing with toys and takes his treats very gently. A warm lap is his favorite place o be soaking up love and attention. He gives the best hugs, too! Apollo does have a small warm-up period, but once he feels safe and loved, he comes out of his shell. He would b a great companion for family that can spend time playing with and socializing him so he can build his self-confidence and be the best dog he can be. He gets along well wit the other dogs in his play group and ideally we think he would do best in a home with a canine companion to play with to help show him the ropes. He is just a wonderful little dude and we can really se him doing well in just about any family environment. And how can you resist those gentle, soulful eyes? Meet Nougat Introducing Nougat…and just like his name, this guy is pretty sweet! Nougat is an adorable Terrier mix who is approximately 1 year old and currently weighs 25 pounds. We rescued this cutie from the Weslaco shelter in south Texas near the border of Mexico. He was in a kennel with a couple other dogs who all have wonderful dispositions. This little family came to the shelter as strays and we are so excited to have them here with us to help them find the loving, forever homes! Nougat is a kind and social dog. He is VERY playful and happy. He enjoys playing with toys and IS VERY treat motivated. He is a very smart dog and learns new routines quickly. He is attentive and always ready for a fun adventure. He has the most beautiful golden eyes, which just add to his charm! He will make a fun companion for a family who has lots of love to share. He gets along well with the other dogs in his play group and he would have a great time having a little canine companion to romp around and play with. He is crate trained for his meals and for sleeping, but would be perfectly content to cuddle up with his people at night, too. He is just a wonderful little dude and we can really see him doing well in just about any family environment. He is such a fun dog who can’t wait for home and family of his own! Meet Gracie Introducing Gracie! Gracie a beutitiful Border Terrier mix who is approximately1 year old and currently weighs 12 pounds. We rescued his sweet girl from the La Joya shelter in south Texas, near the border of Mexico. We don’t know how this little one ended up at the shelter but we suspect that people have not always been kind to her living on the streets or handled he very much. All of that is behind her now. She is a young and curious do who is ready to find a forever home who will love her very much. Gracie is a little nervous meeting new friends and has been doing very well the more she is gettin settled in here with us. she just needs a little time and patience to know she will be treated with kindness. One she feels safe, she is happy to receive love and affection and a warm lap is a good, safe place. After a little "getting-to know-you" period, she enjoys being held, getting head scratches and love. She will do best in a quieter home without small children where she can settle in comfortably. She gets along well with other dogs and ideally she would love to go to a home with another smaller non-dominant dog o help show her the ropes and boost he self-confidence. With a patient family who will help her acclimate, we know she will be a wonderful companion to grow up with and be the best dog she is meant to be. Gracie would be so happy to have a loving home to call her own! Gracie is located at our rescue in Hondo, Texas and is available for transport to Allen Park, MI on June 15th.
