🐾 Meet Mikey! Mikey is a happy, outgoing young pup who has had a bit of a bumpy road finding the right home. He’s an incredibly sweet boy, but after learning more about him through a couple of adoption experiences, we now have a much better idea of what Mikey needs to be successful. ❤️ 🐶 Age:Puppy/young dog 💗 Personality:Sweet, playful & outgoing 🐕 Dogs: Has done well with other dogs 🏠 House Training:Still working on it 🎓 Training:Continued puppy training recommended 👧 Kids: Looking for an adult-only home 🏡 Foster Report:Sweet, affectionate & did well with the resident dog Mikey originally came to us as a transfer and quickly won over our staff and volunteers. He has attended events outside of the shelter, met lots of people and has generally been a happy, social little guy. Mikey has been adopted and returned, and those experiences have helped us learn more about what he needs in his next home. In one home, there were concerns about interactions between Mikey and a child that were not safe or comfortable for him. In another home, Mikey had positive interactions with the children during his initial meetings, but once he settled into the home, he began nipping at them. Unfortunately, we don’t have enough information to know whether the nipping was related to puppy play, overstimulation, fear or a combination of things. Because we want Mikey **and** his next family to be successful, we are looking for a home with no children, or older children for him at this time. The good news is that Mikey has also spent time in a foster home, where he did wonderfully! His foster described him as incredibly sweet, and he did well with the other dog in the home. He is still working on house training and will need the same patience, structure and consistency that any young dog needs. Mikey really is a good boy. He just needs a home that can give him the structure, training and stability he needs while he continues growing up. 💙 🏡 If you have an adult-only home, or older children and are looking for a sweet, playful young dog to grow with, Mikey would love another chance at finding his person.
