Story
Greetings everyone. My name is DARRYL and here is a little info about me:Breed: Boston Terrier/Pug mixAge: 3-1/2 yearsGender: maleWeight: 40 lbsHeight: tbdHighlight(s): happy, playful, calm, snuggly I love people and bring a smile to everyone’s face whenever they see me. As you can see, I'm really a pretty chill guy.Sadly, my family's young son has developed allergies to me. So I need to find another home, as I don't want him to suffer.Being a happy, moderately energetic dog, I need some time to burn off energy. But, after a good day of playing, walking and belly rubs, I enjoy a good snuggle on the couch with my loved ones.Unfortunately I am reactive around dogs who are bigger than me, and as such - I walk on leash only. Perhaps you can help teach me I am safe and that you will protect me and get me some training on this. Although I get along with some other small dogs I know, I can be a bit selectively cautious at first. Chances are, with slow proper intro though, I would be fine. I am not really bothered by loud sounds/thunder/fireworks. However, I will set off letting you know when someone knocks at the door. Alert, alert... but once the person comes in, I am all tail wags happy. Please note, I'm something of a celebrity, as I have my own TikTok page. Yup, you can check out more photos, some vids and my silly antics there.  https://www.tiktok.com/@darryl_the_dog?_t=8lTvpI2FfRm&_r=1 Energy Level: moderateI get along with:Dogs: yes, await videoCats: unknownKids: yes, video coming soon Fears: Not a fear exactly, but I am reactive to larger dogs. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training: house & leash abilitiesLeash skills: Yes. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: Yes. Please help me learn where to go in my new home. Health notes:I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the owner, rescuer or local foster. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##2020139##
