Story
Meet Regina! This delightful Boston terrier/chihuahua mix is just a year old and is 17 pounds of pint-sized perfection. Regina is the kind of girl who just loves to love! She is very affectionate and is content to be close to you. She takes her treats well and will sit nicely for them. When she gives you that first kiss, you won't be able to resist her charms. Regina is comfortable being held and looks to her people for reassurance. Admittedly, she doesn't seem to enjoy the cold weather and would much rather take up residence on your lap where she belongs. As she is still a young lady, Regina will benefit from continued training, daily exercise and all the cuddles she can get! Based on our evaluation, we feel Regina would do well in an active home with adults or families with kids of all ages. She may have the capacity to live in a home with other animals and we are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. If you'd like to make Regina a part of your family, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application today for our good-hearted girl!

Story
***Flo is in a foster home right now, so if you are interested in her, please fill out an application at K9stray.com and we will be in touch. Thank you.*** Pretty girl Flo! She is estimated to be about 3 years old and weighs 20 pounds right now, but we are working on having her gain a little more weight. Meet Flo, such a shy little muffin with the sweetest soul! She is quite scared right now as she adjusts to new surroundings, but with each day, she takes brave steps forward and her loving personality is slowly shining through. You can tell she wants nothing more than to trust and be loved. With her cute little face and expressive dark eyes, she will melt your heart in an instant. We can tell Flo was a recent mom, we don't know what happened to her puppies or what her past was like, but we know her future will be full of love and security. Flo needs an adopter who can offer her time, patience, and gentle leadership to help her continue to come out of her shell and feel safe and confident. She will thrive with a family who can provide structure and guidance, as well as lots of love and cuddles. Flo will need a home where any children are at least 13 years old with her timid nature. We want to keep Flo safe as well, so she will need to have some type of containment plan as we feel she may be a flight risk right now with her being so scared. Flo has so much love to give and just wants a forever family, she will reward you with a lifetime of gratitude and devotion. She would love it if you came to meet her. If there is another nice doggy sibling in the home, Flo would love to meet them. She really perks up and comes out of her shell as soon as another dog enters the room. She has a nice friendly approach with them, and we highly recommend another dog in her adoptive home to help with confidence building. If you are interested in Flo and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*
