Story
Meet Max! Max is a 3-year-old, approximately 15-pound Boston Terrier who is ready for a fresh start and a family of his own.Max came to us as part of a humane case in a nearby county. Despite the circumstances that brought him here, he is a sweet boy who is looking forward to learning what it means to be a beloved family dog.Max has lived with other animals and has done well in that environment. However, as with any dog, this is not a guarantee that he will be a good match for every animal. Slow, appropriate introductions and careful supervision are important when bringing a new dog into a home with existing pets.Boston Terriers are known for being affectionate, social, playful, and full of personality. They can be wonderful companions, but their small size and adorable faces don`t mean they are a low-commitment pet. Max will need a family prepared to provide regular veterinary care, a nutritious diet, exercise and enrichment, training, companionship, and plenty of patience as he adjusts to his new life. Like all dogs, he will need a lifelong commitment—not just a home for today, but a family willing to care for him through all of life`s stages. If you`re looking for a compact canine companion with a big personality and you`re ready for the responsibility that comes with adopting a dog, Max may be the boy you`ve been waiting for.Max is looking for a loving, responsible forever home where he can finally feel safe, cherished, and part of the family. If this dog has been successful in our play groups it is not a guarantee that a dog will be social with other dogs in their home or in public settings. Dogs are individuals and have personality conflicts, just like us. Play groups do not guarantee that territorial or resource guarding issues will not surface in the home. While play groups do help us get to know the dog`s better, once they are adopted their new environments and new relationships will influence their behavior in ways we cannot predict. The Adoption Fee Includes:- initial canine distemper combination vaccination- first worming or stool check- rabies vaccination (for animals over 3 months of age)- 24 PetWatch microchipping- flea treatment/preventative- spaying or neutering-heartworm testingAdoption fee: $175.00Per state law chapter 25.4, adopters must purchase a non-refundable 2024 dog license at time of adoption for any canine three months and ol

Good with kids, Not good with cats, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
BackstoryMirren got out again two days ago and knocked a neighbor over trying to engage with her poodle. No one was hurt, but she has done this one other time and has had tangles with two other dogs in the neighborhood (both unhurt). She is not good with cats and has gone after small game (gophers and squirrels). We don’t want to burden anyone with a reactive pet but we wanted to see if anyone would rehome her before we have to euthanize her for behavior. Mirren is now on Trazadone and Gabbapentin for reactivity, so she us much calmer with other dogs and overall. She is spayed and up to date with shots. If you have dogs or cats it’s likely a no go. Please don’t feel any pressure. We have had a good 6 years with Mirren, but she has worn out her welcome in our neighborhood and we are trying to find her another home. The new meds really have helped, but we know she needs a fresh start. She is really good with people!
