Story
Sophie Belle was adopted as a puppy. She was the runt of her litter and weighed just over two pounds at 5 weeks old. We have her paperwork. She was born June 14, 2010, so she will be 14 soon. Sophie Belle is a miniature Boston Terrier, and she now weighs 12 lbs. Her owner is 87 yrs. old with health issues and has trouble getting out of bed. Sophie needs a loving home and loves attention. She still acts just like a puppy and knows several tricks. Many items will go with Sophie, including crate, bedding, toys, clothes, etc. Please only serious inquiries.

Story
Meet Scout This little nugget, Scout, is a wonderful dog. She, like so many dogs, had been running as a stray and wound up at a high-kill shelter. The shelter saw her potential and asked us if we could rescue her before they were forced to euthanize. Having seen this little girl in action we were smitten. We don't know what breeds Scout is, but she could have some Boston in her, maybe a bit of beagle or even Jack Russell or all three - it's so hard to know. We do know she is petite in size at only 17 lbs. at eight months. She may top out at 25 lbs. She has the cutest oversized ears, an alert expression, intelligent eyes and a pretty white coat with patches. She is the happiest, friendliest, most adorable young pup. Scout LOVES people, kids, dogs, and cats! She loves everything and everyone she encounters. She walks great on a leash, she loves strolling with her person and other dogs, especially Honey (her mate that we also rescued). Scout and Honey seem to be bonded, at least they are best friends, and will be adopted together. It would be so sad to separate them at this time. Scout travels well, is up for adventure and playing. She loves to run in the play yards and likes to say 'hello' to the other dogs out there. This little girl is pawfect. She will transition easily into a loving home. She will be your constant companion. She is a confident, calm, quiet, fun-loving girl, looking to be someone's fur baby companion. She will grace your heart and home with joy, snuggles and cuddles, yet be ready for a hiking adventure, a visit to the wineries or caf̩e or simply lounging on a comfy couch. This girl has it all! If interested in Scout and Honey, please submit an application online at: https://www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/page/dog-adoption-application Once an application is submitted online, you will receive an email saying your application has been successfully received. If you don't receive this email within 24 hours, please check to make sure all application fields were completed or please email us at smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with a current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://smithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are primarily owner relinquished and also rescued from local and area Animal Controls. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open. Adoptions and meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only. Complete an application and someone will be in touch just as soon as they can. An application doesn't commit you or us to an adoption, but it allows our coordinator to begin the review process.
