Story
🌟 Meet Bella: Our 10-Year-Old Pogo Stick! 🌟
🌟 Name: Bella
🎂 Age: 10 years old
🐶 Breed: Staffordshire Terrier mix
🥌 Weight: 34 lbs
💉 Vaccination Status: Bella is up to date on her vaccines, helping keep her healthy and ready for her next chapter.
🏡 Ideal Home: Bella would love a family home where she can truly be part of the household. A family with teenagers or older children would be especially ideal, as having more people around means more opportunities for companionship, attention, and someone to hang out with her. She’s happy to nap with you, watch a movie, supervise cooking dinner in the kitchen, or simply be wherever her people are. Bella can be trusted to hold down the fort while you’re out running errands, but she definitely looks forward to your return! She much prefers having her people around, especially right now as she adjusts to a big change in her life.
For outdoor time, Bella would do well with either a strong handler who can comfortably manage her on walks or a secure, fenced-in yard. She is quite strong for a 10-year-old, so her walker needs to be ready for her enthusiasm! Her age certainly isn’t showing. She enjoys getting outside and wouldn’t mind a long walk, either!
🐕 Compatibility: Bella would prefer to be the only animal, and we don’t blame her. This old gal deserves to be the center of attention! She is best suited for children 10 years and older, simply because her interactions with younger children have not been tested. We think Bella may do well with all kinds of people. She’s definitely a “people dog”!
👂 Special Needs: Bella’s biggest requests are pretty simple: companionship and patience. She’s had a tough few months since losing her original owner and has experienced a lot of change in a short amount of time, so having her people around helps her feel secure. Just include her and she’ll fit right in!
✂️ Grooming: Low maintenance! Bella has a short coat and doesn’t require much beyond routine grooming and care.
🐾 Training: Bella could use some basic training, especially around getting ready to go outside. Once she realizes it’s time to head out, she gets so excited that she starts bouncing like a pogo stick! With her knees, we’d much rather see four paws on the floor. She can also get a little jumpy when greeting people. A little consistency and positive reinforcement should help her learn that the fun can happen without all four feet leaving the ground.
Bella has plenty of personality, plenty of pep, and absolutely no interest in acting like a typical 10-year-old. Many people don’t believe her age when they meet her, and once you spend some time with her, you’ll understand why. She’s ready for a family to love, a comfy place to land, and someone who appreciates a senior girl with a little bounce left in her step.
