Yukon may have missed out on some of the experiences that most dogs get to have growing up, but that hasn’t stopped this sweet boy from showing us just how much potential he has. His life before the shelter wasn’t the easiest, especially for a young and impressionable dog, so Yukon is still learning that the world can be a safe and wonderful place. Yukon is incredibly sweet and has a naturally submissive personality when meeting new people. While he is comfortable and happy with the shelter staff he knows, he prefers when new people take things slow and give him a little time to warm up. Once he trusts you, you get to see the wiggly, happy Yukon we know and love! This boy absolutely thrives with structure and routine. Even in the shelter, he has done wonderfully with potty training, and we think he will flourish with a consistent routine and a little more structure than we’re able to provide here. He has also been working hard on his leash walking skills and learning basic cues like “sit” and “wait.” Yukon is an active young dog who will benefit from positive outlets for his energy, along with a person who is willing to provide gentle guidance, patience, and encouragement. He doesn’t need someone to rush him—he needs someone who will meet him where he is and help him discover everything he is capable of. Yukon previously lived with multiple other dogs and no issues were reported. However, shelter life can be stressful, and he has become a little anxious when surrounded by numerous dogs. Slow, thoughtful introductions will be important, and we want Yukon to feel safe and secure as he gets to know his potential canine friends. For a guy who is still catching up on some of the things other dogs have already learned, we couldn’t be more impressed with Yukon. He is trying, he is learning, and he is showing us more of his personality every day. All we want is to give this sweet boy the chance to succeed—and we truly believe his best days are still ahead of him.

Precious may not have had the easiest start in life, but you would never know it from her joyful spirit. Before coming to the shelter, she spent most of her life in a home with many other dogs, often having to compete for food and attention. Despite that, Precious has never let her past define her. Today, she’s a happy, wiggly girl who greets each day with a smile and reminds us just how resilient dogs truly are. She absolutely adores people and will happily soak up every scratch, cuddle, and bit of attention you have to offer. Her favorite place is outside, whether she’s lounging in the sunshine, chasing toys, or taking a gentle stroll. Because of her past, Precious has participated in many dog meet-and-greets at the shelter as an effort to get a better idea of her comfort levels! She is polite and friendly with other dogs. Precious enjoys all canine games including a good game of chase, tug or good old fashioned wrestling—she has been doing wonderfully with the dogs in her foster home! We will be requiring a dog meet and greet prior to adopting if there are fellow canine friends in your home! Precious has appeared potty trained in her foster home. It can be difficult to know for certain in a shelter environment, and with a consistent routine in a home, she has been thriving. She already knows the cue “sit,” walks nicely on a leash, and every now and then gets the cutest little zoomies when she’s extra excited! Precious is such a kind-hearted girl. She has missed out on so much already, and now she’s simply looking for someone willing to give her the time, patience, and love she has always deserved. In return, she’ll give you a lifetime of loyalty, gentle companionship, and endless wiggles. We know her brightest days are still ahead—and we can’t wait for the right family to help her write that next chapter.
