Story
Hello friends, my name is Martha — a 2-year-old brindle-and-white Boxer/Staffordshire Terrier lady weighing in at a graceful 58 lbs. 💁‍♀️🐾 I may have had a tough start after being abandoned, but I’ve held onto my big heart and my love for people. I’m an affectionate girl who adores running, playing, and—most of all—snuggling. Truly, I’m a world-class snuggle bug. 🥰 I know how to sit, I walk nicely on a leash, and I’m fully housebroken and crate trained. I do get a bit excited sometimes and might pull on the leash or hop up to say hello, but I promise I’m a wonderful listener and eager to learn, so with a little guidance, I’ll have perfect manners in no time. ✨ I also really love to be around my people, and I can be determined to get back to you, I'll even get out of a fence if i'm left alone.I also want to mention that I am heartworm positive, but don’t worry — it’s easily treatable, and I have completed the medication I need to get healthy again, and will just need to be retested in 6 months to hopefully test negative!💊💕I get along beautifully with other dogs, and I absolutely love to dress up. In fact, I even had my photo taken with Santa when he visited the shelter! 🎅📸 Yes… I do enjoy being fabulous. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who’s ready to fill your home with joy, laughter, and snuggles, I would love the chance to meet you. You can also call the shelter at 479-394-5682 to find out more about me.****************All animals at HSO are current on their vaccinations and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Story
Hello there… I’m Chance 🤎🐾I’m a handsome golden tan and white Boxer/Staffordshire Terrier mix with big bright amber eyes and a heart absolutely bursting with love. I’m about 4 years old and weigh around 52 pounds of muscle, cuddles, and nonstop devotion. 💕 If there’s one thing you should know about me right away, it’s this: I LOVE my people. Like… really love them. I want to be right by your side as much as possible, soaking up pets, belly rubs, affection, and making sure you always know you’re loved and protected. Velcro dog status? Absolutely confirmed. 🥰 I’m also a very energetic and intelligent boy, which means I need an active home that can keep both my body and brain busy. Long walks, hikes, runs, puzzle toys, training sessions, games of fetch — yes please! I’m highly food motivated, eager to please, and super smart, so training with me is actually a lot of fun. I love having a job to do and learning new things. 🧠✨I do well with other dogs, but I definitely have an alpha personality and prefer to be the only male dog in the home. Slow, proper introductions are important so everyone starts off on the right paw. 🐕 Cats, squirrels, rabbits, and other little critters? Absolutely not for me. I’ve got a very strong prey drive and will happily patrol the yard looking for “intruders.” 🐿️😅 I adore kiddos and do best with children around 12 and up because I’m a strong, enthusiastic guy with lots of energy… and apparently my tail has been described as “a weapon of mass destruction.” 😂 Because of my strength and excitement level, I may not be the best fit for people with balance or mobility concerns either. I walk well on a leash overall, though I can pull when I get excited. I’m also an excellent travel buddy — I load into the car nicely and love tagging along for adventures. 🚗💨 The good news? I’m already house trained, crate trained, and know how to use a doggie door when I have access to one. I’m also a very good guard dog and take protecting my people seriously. If something seems suspicious, I’ll make sure you know about it. 💪 At the end of the day though, underneath all my muscles and protective instincts, I’m just a big affectionate baby who wants a family to love with my whole heart. 🤎🐾📞 You can also call the shelter at 479-394-5682 to find out more about me.****************All animals at HSO are current on their vaccinations and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Story
Annie is a female tan with white mix breed. She is 5 years old and she weighs 36 pounds. Annie is spayed and vaccinated including rabies. Annie is heartworm negative and on monthly heartworm preventive. Annie is ready for adoption. Annie is people and dog friendly, and only mildly curious about the cat. Annie was owner surrendered (through no fault of Annie’s) by the person who has had her since she was 10 weeks old. Annie doesn’t know her own strength but she is sweet and gentle too. Annie is potty and kennel trained. She pulls on a leash and is spooked by cars driving by. Annie knows her name, knows sit, and could learn so much more. We think Annie would do best with a fenced back yard for her and a friend to play in. Adoption fee is $150. Must apply: Application for adoption is located at http://fs19.formsite.com/JeffTarpleyRescue/application/index.html Jeff Tarpley Rescue 903-490-2959 We require all potential adopters to submit an application.
