Story
Hello friends, my name is Martha — a 2-year-old brindle-and-white Boxer/Staffordshire Terrier lady weighing in at a graceful 58 lbs. 💁‍♀️🐾 I may have had a tough start after being abandoned, but I’ve held onto my big heart and my love for people. I’m an affectionate girl who adores running, playing, and—most of all—snuggling. Truly, I’m a world-class snuggle bug. 🥰 I know how to sit, I walk nicely on a leash, and I’m fully housebroken and crate trained. I do get a bit excited sometimes and might pull on the leash or hop up to say hello, but I promise I’m a wonderful listener and eager to learn. With a little guidance, I’ll have perfect manners in no time. ✨I also want to mention that I am heartworm positive, but don’t worry — it’s easily treatable, and I come with all the medication I need to get healthy again. 💊💕I get along beautifully with other dogs, and I absolutely love to dress up. In fact, I even had my photo taken with Santa when he visited the shelter! 🎅📸 Yes… I do enjoy being fabulous. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who’s ready to fill your home with joy, laughter, and snuggles, I would love the chance to meet you. You can also call the shelter at 479-394-5682 to find out more about me.****************All animals at HSO are current on their vaccinations and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Story
Hi there… I’m Jewel 💎 — your future gentle giant with the most beautiful brindle and white coat you’ve ever seen. I’m a Mastiff/Lab mix girl, about 6 years old, and I weigh in at a whopping 71 pounds of pure love. Big girl? Absolutely. Big heart? Even bigger. 🤍🐾 Before I came to the shelter, I mostly lived outdoors. Because of that, they can’t promise I’m 100% house trained just yet — but I do know how to use a doggie door, and I always keep my kennel tidy by doing my business outside. Give me a consistent routine and I’ll catch on quickly. I’m a smart cookie. 🍪✨Let me tell you… I have recently discovered the finer things in life. Comfy beds? Yes please. Air conditioning? Don’t mind if I do. Being inside with my people? That’s the dream. 🛋️❄️ I am a lover through and through and want nothing more than to be by your side every second I can. Velcro dog status: confirmed. If you sit down, I’m scooting in for cuddles. If you lay down, I’m your weighted blanket. 💕I truly love people and other dogs, but I do need proper, slow introductions to both so I can feel comfortable and confident. Once I know everyone is kind and safe, I settle right in with my easygoing, go-with-the-flow personality. 😌 I’m wonderful with kids over 5 and have such a gentle, sweet nature. One important thing to know about me is that I prefer to be fed separately from other pets, as I can resource guard my food. It’s easily managed by giving me my own space at mealtime — and I promise I’m a perfect lady once dinner is finished. 💗I walk beautifully on a leash and don’t pull much at all. Now… if I spot a squirrel or another dog, I might get a little excited and lean into it — but I respond very well to corrections. I just get enthusiastic about life! 🐿️😅 I love to run and play, splash around in water, and sniff absolutely everything on our walks. There are SO many good smells out there! Belly rubs and treats are the fastest way to win my undying devotion. Seriously. One good scratch and we’re best friends forever. 🥰 I’m usually a quiet gal, but if someone unfamiliar comes around, I’ll let you know. I may be sweet as pie, but I can sound pretty intimidating when I need to. Gotta protect my people. 💪I load up into the car like a pro and ride wonderfully — I’ll happily claim a seat on family adventures. 🚗 I’m highly intelligent and eager to please, so any additional training would be a breeze for me. I’m ready to run, love, cuddle, guard, and be the most loyal companion you’ve ever had. If you think I might be your girl, call the shelter at 479-394-5682 to find out more about me. I’m ready to find my forever family and fill your home with big love and even bigger snuggles. 💎🐾****************All animals at HSO are current on their vaccinations and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Story
Annie is a female tan with white mix breed. She is 2 years old and she weighs 36 pounds. Annie is spayed and vaccinated including rabies. Annie is heartworm negative and on monthly heartworm preventive. Annie is ready for adoption. Annie is people and dog friendly, and only mildly curious about the cat. Annie was owner surrendered (through no fault of Annie’s) by the person who has had her since she was 10 weeks old so she is pretty unsure what has happened, but even with being nervous and unsure she has been sweet. Annie doesn’t know her own strength and needs any other dogs to get her size or larger and robust for play. Annie is potty and kennel trained. She pulls mightily on a leash and is spooked by cars driving by. Annie knows her name, knows sit, and could learn so much more. We think Annie would do best with a fenced back yard for her and a friend to play in. Adoption fee is $150.
