Story
Clarence is 72 lbs of pure LOVE.Meet Clarence — a 1-year-old Boxer dreamboat who is ready to be someone’s whole world. He’s great on leash and calm in his kennel or play area. He has some friends he hangs out with here, like Luna. He’s also a day trip favorite who gets a lot of positive attention! But what Clarence really wants? You.He’ll lean his sweet red self against your legs and gaze up into your eyes while you pet him. Volunteers say it best: “he just melts into you.” And trust us… it only takes one walk to fall head over heels. He’s playful, gentle, and has that steady, family-dog energy. Though Clarence is always a gentleman and well mannered, when it’s time to head back to his kennel after a walk, he softly resists. He looks up at you with those big brown eyes that seem to say, “Please don’t put me back. I just want to stay with you.”Clarence is breaking our hearts — but he doesn’t have to. He just needs someone to choose him.He needs a home with no cats or small animals.Come meet Clarence at our Goleta shelter on Overpass Rd. You`ll see what we all see.

Story
Hi there! My name is Mango and I'm a 2 month old Female Boxer currently living at the Santa Barbara Campus, eager for a new home! Life is one big adventure, and I'm ready to experience it all! I'm a young puppy with lots of energy, curiosity, and enthusiasm for the world around me. Whether it's exploring new places, playing with toys, learning new skills, or spending time with my people, I'm always excited to be part of the action. Like all puppies, I'm still learning the ropes and will need a family that's committed to helping me grow into a happy, well-mannered adult dog. That means continuing my potty training, crate training, socialization, and basic manners. A consistent routine, positive reinforcement, and plenty of patience will help me build confidence and succeed! I will also need daily physical exercise and mental enrichment to keep my busy puppy brain engaged. Think: walks, training sessions, puzzle toys, playtime, and opportunities to learn new things. The good news is that you won't have to do it alone. SBH offers puppy classes to help set both of us up for success and provide guidance as I continue learning and growing! If you're looking for a playful companion who's ready to fill your home with laughter, adventure, and lots of love, I might just be the one. Like all animals at Santa Barbara Humane, before going home I will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adoption also includes a complimentary post-adoption health exam with a participating local veterinary clinic as well as a supply of Hill's Science Diet food to help make my first few days at home a little easier. If you're ready to welcome me or another animal into your family, stop by during adoption hours—daily from 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., except Wednesdays. No appointment or advance notice is required! Need to pick up a few essentials before heading home? Visit the retail center at either Santa Barbara Humane campus, where you'll find toys, treats, collars, leashes, and more at competitive prices. Every purchase helps support the animals in our care and the programs that serve pets and people throughout our community. We hope to see you soon!

Story
Thor is a two year old neutured Boxer-Pointer mix with a gentle soul an an adventerous spirit. While he may not show his best self behind kennel doors, that`s not the real Thor- he simply needs a fair chance to meet people outside that stressful enviornment. With slow, proper introductions, a calm approach and a few tasty treats, he warms up beautifully and shows his affectionate, playful side. He`s a high energy explorer who loves long walks, hikes and hunting for lizards. He`s also shown to be playful with other dogs when introduced properly. Thor is looking for an active, patient family who are willing to go at his pace, earn his trust and give him the fair chance he deserves to shine! Meet him at Santa Barbara County Animal Services in Santa Maria at 548 W. Foster Road, open Tuesday-Sunday 10am-5pm.
