Story
Remington is a playful, funny pup with a big personality and an even bigger love for toys. He’s happiest when he’s playing, tossing his toys around, or inviting you to join in the fun. Once he gets to know you, Remington is incredibly affectionate and loves being close to his people. He may need a little time to warm up to new people, but with patience and gentle introductions, his silly, loving side quickly shines through. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will make you laugh and shower you with affection, Remington might be your perfect match. This is what his foster buddy had to say about his recent outing: "Today I spent approximately 3 hours with Remington. I had to "load" him in the car. He looked uncomfortable once there but as soon as we rode, he relaxed. We chose a quiet trail first to help him transition from his kennel to the outside. He did fine. We then met another dog. Remington was ready to engage, possibly overwhelming the other pup. He was just ready to play which is hard when you are leashed. No tension, no lunging, no barking. Once on the River Trail, Remington spotted some big fish swimming in a little reservoir accross from the hatchery. He sat and watched them for a long while. That was pretty cute. He also wanted to play. Remington is big on toys but I did not have one on me. So, we improvised with pinecones around the library for a while. He looked so relaxed. He was having fun. Remington can get spooked by stuff, an ominous shape he cannot make out, a stranger wanting to pet him, sounds unfamiliar to him. Talking to him makes all this stress go away. He was even comfortable watching bikers go by on the trail. I took Remington out first on February 28th and today, he did look a lot more confident and relaxed. What does Remington need? Love and patience. He will conquer his fears with the right individual and/or family."

Story
Mufasa did not have the easiest start to life, and was having a very difficult time opening up at the shelter. For that reason, Mufasa will remain in foster care with hopes he can learn that there is more good than bad in this world, and can finally learn to be his true self-Since Mufasa has been so shut down, we have not been able to explore his true personality, so at the moment, we are unsure of his ideal household. If you are interested in learning more or possibly meeting this sweet boy, please call the front desk and arrange a meet and greet.

Story
At 6.5 years old, Franny is the definition of a soft, sweet soul. She’s been patiently waiting at the shelter since September, watching seasons change and hoping that her next chapter includes a cozy home of her very own. Franny is a gentle girl with a tender heart. She may not be the loudest in the room, but she shines in the quiet moments — the slow tail wags, the soft eyes looking up at you, the way she settles in close when she feels safe. She’s simply looking for her person — someone to share peaceful evenings, warm blankets, and plenty of couch time. When we take Franny to our play yard, all she wants to do is soak up the sun with her tennis ball. She is so good at entertaining herself when her people are nearby. On outings, Franny is a total star. She walks beautifully and can comfortably pass other dogs while out and about. She does well meeting new people and isn’t bothered by bikes or the normal bustle of the world. She enjoys getting out to explore, but she’s just as happy soaking up calm companionship. Franny would thrive as the only pet in the home, where she can fully relax and soak up all the love and attention she deserves. She does fantastic meeting dogs on leash, but has shown us she would prefer to just be by herself if given the opportunity. She has so much affection to give and is ready to be someone’s whole world — and let that person be hers. If you’ve been dreaming of a loyal, soft-hearted best friend to share your couch and your life, Franny is waiting patiently to meet you. Notes from foster: She is as sweet as can be. Great attitude overall. Confident, obedient, trusting, and happy to be taken out for a walk. Oh, so happy! That tail was wagging nonstop. She was smiling. We met many dogs on the Riverwalk. Franny remained unfazed. She was great on leash, too. She never begged for treats and accepted them gently. One dog walker offered to take our picture. Wasn't that sweet? Franny willingly participated and jumped on a rock to pose with me. Franny has not given up on finding the right family that she will unconditionally love. Love, her foster buddy.
