Story
Stella Bean is a very shy, sensitive girl who can be fearful in new environments. In her previous home, she had a few minor disagreements with other dogs around food and play, so she’ll do best with slow introductions and thoughtful management during mealtimes. She has lived with a child, is potty trained, and knows her “kennel up” command, showing she has a great foundation for home life. Stella Bean has the potential to build confidence and blossom into a loving companion.

Story
Meet Bud – The Ultimate House Hippo Boxer / Staffordshire Bull Terrier Mix • 1 Year Old Bud is the kind of dog who’s been through more than most his age, and it shows in the best ways. At just one year old, this bully breed mix has spent much of his life in a shelter environment, learning how to navigate the world as it came to him. Because of that, he can be a little aloof when meeting new people. He likes to take things in at his own pace, observe, and decide when he feels safe. But once he does, his bond is deep, loyal, and incredibly special. Bud truly shines around other dogs. He’s social, comfortable, and seems to find confidence in having a canine companion by his side. He would likely do best in a home with another friendly, well-balanced dog to help him continue building confidence and show him the ropes of home life. He’s still learning about new environments, new people, and all the things that come with being part of a family, so he’ll need a patient home that understands he may take a little time to fully settle in. He’s not a dog who will rush into everything, but he is a dog who will give his whole heart once he feels secure. Bud would thrive with adopters who are willing to continue supporting him as he grows, ideally with guidance from a trainer or behaviorist to help him build confidence and navigate new situations. In return, you’ll get a deeply devoted companion who just needed someone to give him the chance he’s always deserved. If you’re looking for a dog who will form a meaningful, lasting bond and you’re willing to go at his pace, Bud might be your guy. Story
Meet Katniss, an 8-year-old Boxer weighing 43 pounds. This sweet girl has a gentle nature and is looking for a calm, patient home where she can feel safe and secure. Katniss can be a bit shy at first and will need adopters who are willing to give her the time and patience she needs to build trust at her own pace. Once she begins to feel comfortable, her sweet personality starts to shine through. She enjoys treats and is especially motivated by them, which can be helpful in building a positive bond with her. Katniss gets along well with other dogs. She will also require a securely fenced yard for the time being, as she is still working on leash walking. We also require an in-person meet and greet with all potential adopters to ensure the best match for both Katniss and her future family. ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!

Story
Koda is 4.5 years old and the sweetest most playful pup you will meet. He loves romping around with other dogs, wrestling and snuggling with humans, and has some mild herding instincts he's not sure what to do with. He is very well trained and knows many commands including Sit, Wait, Lay Down, Relax (head on the ground), Pose (go between your legs), Right (a heel on the right side), Touch (nose your palm, this is his recall word), and many more. He is crate trained and loves to take a siesta if humans are nearby, definitely a velcro dog and prefers to be in the same room as whoever's home, otherwise he loves to lay on a comfy chair and look out the window. Koda's perfect new home would be with someone who is ready to take his training to the next level and offer lots of mental stimulation, while he adores fetch and tug, he is very thoughtful and loves a challenge. He has had two minor-medium bite incidents with "home intruders", and rare dog aggression (no bites).

Story
Tykon is a sweet, affectionate guy who is ready to find a home full of love and companionship. He has a fun, silly personality that shines through once he’s comfortable, and he enjoys being around his people as much as possible. He has lived well with other dogs in the past and may enjoy a canine friend in his new home. Tykon may do best in a home without cats, as he can be a bit too eager to try and play with them. He was housetrained in his previous home, which is a great foundation as he transitions into his next chapter. With his loving nature and playful spirit, Tykon is sure to make a wonderful companion.April 28, 2026, 7:06 pm
