Story
Shivo (Silver) is a gorgeous almost rose gold colored pit mix whose coat shines in the sun! This smiley boy has the classic characteristics of a pitty - affectionate, expressive and fun-loving and wiggly! He walks very well on the leash and knows basic commands. Unfortunately, Shivo's (Silver) human has been in the hospital long term, so he is now looking for a new furever home with a very special adopter. Hes in a great place to find his forever family and will make an amazing companion! We do not see Adopt-a-Pet inquiries! Please visit our website www.grandrivershumane.org to fill out an adoption application and learn more about our upcoming adoption event locations.

Story
Hi there, I’m Cypher! A big, strong, handsome guy with a growing heart that’s learned how to feel safe again.I’m about 4 years old, built like an athlete, and yes… I know how impressive my muscles are. But underneath all that strength is a dog who has come a very long way. Learning to trust new people hasn’t always been easy for me, but with patience, kindness, and consistency, I’ve discovered something amazing, I actually like letting my guard down. And guess what? I have an inner puppy that’s finally getting his moment to shine. One of my absolute favorite things in the world is a good squeaky toy. The louder, the better. They bring out my goofy side and show off my quirky, fun personality that keeps growing every day. I’m still learning how to navigate the world, but I’m working hard! I’m even taking training classes because I really want to be the best boy I can be.I do best as the only animal in the home, where I can soak up all the love, structure, and attention without having to share. I thrive with people who understand that progress doesn’t have to be perfect to be meaningful. I’m proof that patience and love can build something truly special. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with strength, heart, and a personality that keeps unfolding in the best ways than I might just be your guy.Yours truly,Cypher

Not good with cats,
Story
For being 12 and technically a super senior, Gramps sure doesn't act it sometimes! He's still got plenty of spunk and life left in him! Gramps is a very smart dog who comes with quite a few tricks under his belt, including things like "Sit", "Down", "Stand", and even some pretty great loose-leash walking. Gramps is going to need no cats in his future home! Once we get Gramps out of the shelter, we think he will be able to fully decompress and settle into an easy loving couch potato lifestyle of a true HOUSE HIPPO! This sweet old man needs a foster home to decompress and heal from dental surgery! He will be available for adoption as soon as his mouth is all healed up and he's feeling better! We do not see Adopt-a-Pet inquiries! Please visit our website www.grandrivershumane.org to fill out an adoption application and learn more about our upcoming adoption event locations.
