Please read the bio of the rescue you are interested in to insure you are a match if you are a match the first step is to complete the online adoption application Soldier is a handsome boxer boy. He is sweet and very affectionate. Loves toys and romping in the yard, a fenced in yard would be a plus for this boy. He gets along great with other dogs. Has been started on crate training as well as leash training. Very curious in new surroundings. Seems eager to learn. Soldier is up to date on rabies and distemper vaccines. Microchipped and current on preventatives. He is not yet neutered as he is a bilateral crypt orchid. This means his testicle have yet to drop. The veterinarian wants to give them more time to drop. Therefore there will be a neuter deposit of $75 added to the adoption fee. This will be returned to adopter once he is neutered. Baxter was adopted in North Carolina and we were told he was positive for heartworm. We have fundraised and gained enough money to treat him before he is adopted so his new home doesn’t have to worry about it. He is a high energy dog who loves to play, but is not leash trained so walks outside of our backyard are pretty hard. When we adopted Baxter we were told he grew up around a cat in his original home, but this turned out to be a lie as he consistently jumps on/at our cats, paws them, and nudges them with his head. He isn’t bad with dogs but doesn’t really have any manners. Anytime my mother has brought her dog over, Baxter is constantly in play mode and lightly bites the back of the dogs’ legs to get them wound up to play. I really think Baxter could benefit from training but with his treatment we just can’t afford that as well. He is so sweet and snuggly, he deserves a home that fits his wants and needs better. Highly recommend him being the only pet in the household!
