Meet Daisy! Daisy is a sweet, curious pup who is about 4 months old and weighs around 25 pounds. Her mom is a Boxer, and while we’re not sure about dad, Daisy’s DNA test is in progress, and her lucky adopter will get to see the results! With her brindle spots, long floppy ears, and hound-like charm, Daisy is as adorable as she is unique. This playful girl is full of puppy energy, curious, fun, and sometimes a little clumsy as she learns about the world. She and her two siblings were rescued from an abusive environment by Somebody To The Rescue, and now Daisy is ready for a loving forever home. She’s up to date on her vaccinations, spayed and microchipped. Daisy would love an adopter who can give her the love, patience, and guidance every growing puppy needs as she blossoms into the wonderful dog she’s meant to be. She has shown some food aggression. If you’re looking for a happy, affectionate pup with lots of love to give, Daisy might be your perfect match! Fill out our adoption application today! https://forms.gle/1wg8JspWeV1QHJYaA

Story
John Boy arrived at Horse Creek on January 15, 2026. With his adorable looks and expressive face, we believe he may be a Boxer/Boston Terrier mix—giving him the perfect blend of spunk, sweetness, and smarts. This sweet, energetic youngster lights up every day here at Horse Creek with his happy spirit and big heart. He adores spending time with our volunteers—whether he’s soaking up attention, trotting along beside them, or showing off his playful personality. In our fenced play yards, he is in his element. He loves romping with other dogs and is always ready for a good game or a friendly chase. His joyful energy makes him a favorite among his playgroup pals. John Boy is ready to bring laughter, love, and lively companionship to a family of his own. If you’re looking for a dog who will brighten your days and fill your home with joy, this boy is waiting for you. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered and current on all vaccinations. They receive monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention. All of their medical needs are taken care of before they are available for adoption. Our adoption fee is $100.00. Please complete an application, if you have found a dog you are interested in adopting. Kim Austin, our adoption facilitator, will be in contact with you as soon as she has an opportunity to review your application. Understand that she has other duties and she will not ignore any interest shown in adopting one of our dogs. An application will need to be approved before a scheduled time to visit our dogs will be set up. It may take up to 48 hours before she returns your call or responds to your email, due to work schedules, holidays and adoption events. We do the very best we can for the dogs we have rescued and do not take the adoption process lightly. Please be patient and understand that we will place our rescued dogs in the very best homes possible and reserve the right to refuse applications.

Hank “Williams” #25121; male; mix breed; estimated age 2 years; approximate weight 55lbs. Hank and several others found themselves on their own when the owners abandoned them without food, water, or shelter. He is currently undergoing slow-kill heartworm treatment. He is neutered and fully vetted. Hank has lots of energy and needs a safe fenced yard where he can run it off! The shelter is a STRESSFUL place and causes a lot of over stimulation in dogs. Story
Oreo #26xxx; female; mixed breed. Estimated age 2 years; approximate weight 45#. Oreo was the FIFTEENTH dog dumped at this farm in 2025. This poor guy tries to rehome, keep, surrender, etc. all these dogs. We try to help when possible. This girl right here is a special one! She is very loving and sweet. Her very best buddy is a little chi-wennie (he thinks that is what he looks like) is another drop off from before. They play all day! He has taken Oreo to the vet and had her fully vetted. This includes a heartworm test (NEGATIVE), all shots, a spay, wormer, and a Pro-Heart shot. She has been in his home since November and is the perfect houseguest. We have her records from the local vet.

Story
Sam #24205 aka “Smiling Sam” is a male boxer mix that is estimated to be 3 years old and weighs approximately 60 lbs. He is neutered, up-to-date on shots and heartworm negative. This handsome boy has a ‘history’. He took himself to visit the local nursing home in July 2024. Although he meant well and they loved him, he had to vacate the premises. A very very sweet elderly lady that was there volunteering (yes, volunteering) decided to take him home and find his owner or a home. This sweet lady (89 years of age) had no fenced yard and had not had a dog in decades. She took him to the vet and had him neutered, vaccinated, and all the good stuff. She walked this big boy multiple times a day on a leash. He was housebroken and fantastic on a leash when he came in. In an overcrowded shelter we do not have the ability to provide the needed consistency to reinforce these good habits, and he has slipped a little. He is very food motivated and with a little time, I’m sure he will get right back in line. He plays with others but does have an energetic play style. He will be great with proper introductions. We do not have cats in our shelter and can’t advise on his reaction to them.

Story
Meet Darlin...at HAA we don't give up on our dogs! This girl has been at our shelter 4 years and 11 months!! How ridiculous is that?! Let me tell you about Darlin. She was found as a stray with a prolapse uterus out on the side of the road. She had to have emergency surgery to save her life. She has recovered from this, she has recovered from heartworms, and lived almost FIVE years in a kennel. She protects her "space" - it's her home. Taken out of her kennel she warms up to people very fast. She has a buddy she plays with - a big Walker hound. She does best with male dogs. She isn't a young pup anymore, so she just likes to hang out with her buddy. This girl needs out of here YESTERDAY! She is a volunteer favorite & looking for a home to call her own.

These pups are in Corinth, Mississippi too!

Story
Meet Bobby – A Survivor with a Heart of Gold! Bobby is a handsome 2-year-old (as of August 2024) Labrador mix with a heart full of love and a spirit that will inspire you. This special boy has overcome incredible odds and is now ready to find his forever home! Bobby’s journey hasn’t been easy. Before his first birthday, Bobby was hit by a truck and left with a broken pelvis on both sides, a deep leg laceration requiring 8 staples, and countless bumps and bruises. But Bobby wasn’t alone—his devoted sibling, Albert, led us to where Bobby had dragged his injured body into the woods, ready to give up. We scooped him up and rushed him to the vet. After weeks of love and care during his recovery, Bobby made a miraculous comeback. Today, you’d never guess what he endured—he runs, jumps, and plays without even a hint of a limp! Bobby’s Perfect Home: Bobby is a sweet, affectionate, and playful boy who loves cuddles, playtime, and just being with his people. He’s crate-trained and happily sleeps in his crate. He gets along well with other dogs and even cats. However, Bobby does like to jump up when he’s excited, so a home without small children or fragile seniors would be best. Bobby has always been with his siblings (there are four in total, including him) and can be adopted with one of them or on his own. What matters most is that his new family is loving, kind, and playful—he’ll thrive in a home where he feels safe and adored. What Bobby Needs: A loving and active family or individual who will shower him with attention. Someone willing to continue his training and provide outlets for his energy. A home that understands the incredible bond he’ll form with his forever person. Bobby’s resilience and gentle spirit are truly remarkable. If you’re ready to welcome a loyal companion who will bring joy and inspiration to your life, Bobby is your boy! Up to Date on Care: Bobby is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and has tested negative for heartworm. Are you the loving, playful forever family Bobby deserves? Fill out an application today and let this sweet survivor bring endless love to your home!

Story
Meet Peanut – A Gentle Soul in Need of a Special Home Peanut is a sweet, stocky little boy with a soft blonde coat and stunning golden eyes. This 2-year-old (as of August 2024) is one of Bobby’s siblings, and he’s looking for a very special person to be his safe haven. Peanut has had a tough past, leaving him extremely fearful and cautious around new people. When I first met him, he wouldn’t let anyone near him for months. But once he trusted me, he showed his true self—a sweet, gentle, and incredibly loving dog who just wants to be close to his person. His loyalty is so strong, we jokingly call him “Velcro.” Peanut needs a patient and understanding adopter who will give him the time and love he needs to feel safe. With trust and care, he will become the most devoted companion you could ever hope for. Peanut’s Perfect Home: A calm, quiet environment with a patient person who can help him build confidence. An adopter experienced with fearful dogs or willing to learn. Someone who will cherish and dote on him as he blossoms into the loving dog he’s meant to be. Why You’ll Love Peanut: He’s neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, and heartworm negative. His gentle, velvety nature will melt your heart once you earn his trust. He has a truly beautiful personality that will reward your patience and love. Peanut’s journey may take a little time, but the bond you’ll share with him will be unbreakable. If you have the heart and patience to give Peanut the loving home he needs, apply today and become his hero.
