Lexi’s story starts with heartbreak. Adopted as a puppy from the Tulsa Animal Shelter, she was returned five years later frightened, emaciated, and clearly abused. She flinched at raised hands. A broom being picked up made her freeze. The world had taught her fear far too well.   And yet… Lexi chose love anyway.   Instead of turning away from people, she leaned into them. She loves humans with every fiber of her being and only wants what she never truly had before: kindness, safety, and a place to belong. Lexi is a devoted shadow dog. If you’re there, she wants to be there too. Kitchen, couch, quiet moments, busy moments… she just wants to be close.   We believe Lexi was attacked by other dogs in her previous home, so she would do best as the only dog, where she can finally relax and not have to be brave anymore.   Lexi is one of the most loved dogs in our rescue, and for good reason. She is gentle, loyal, and endlessly forgiving. She has survived the worst of people and still believes in the best of them.   Now it’s her turn.   Lexi deserves a home where love is consistent, voices are soft, and her heart is finally safe. Meet Brando! In his short life he's already been let down one too many times. He was originally a pup at Tulsa Animal Services where he was originally adopted from. Not even two weeks after being adopted, he was thrown from a vehicle in Catoosa city limits. That's how we came across Brando. He's an energetic and rambunctious pup who LOVES to play. He does need some work on basic manners, but he has the desire to learn as he's very food motivated. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots. Meet Greta: The Snuggle Queen With a Side of Goofball Once upon a time, Greta sat trembling in a shelter kennel, unsure if anyone would ever see her big heart. But the moment she left those doors, she transformed into the happiest, funniest little lovebug you can imagine — all 35 pounds of tail wags, kisses, and personality. Greta is a terrier-pit mix (our best guess) with an expert-level snuggle résumé. Her specialty? Late-night cuddles. She may start the evening politely at the foot of the bed, but give her an hour and she’s wormed her way into your arms — mission accomplished. When she’s not practicing professional snuggling, Greta enjoys short backyard zoomies and hanging out with her canine and feline roommates. She’s fully grown, dog-friendly, cat-friendly, and generally a pretty chill lady. Morning energy bursts are part of the package — she bounces around like a little spring — but she settles down quickly once the excitement of “you’re home!” wears off. Greta knows “sit” and is learning other commands (with enthusiasm… and snacks). She’s also learning that barking doesn’t always get her what she wants — she’s smart and improving every day. Sometimes, she tries to “talk” instead of bark — imagine a throaty, airy “ahhh-wooo” sound, like she’s narrating her own life in dog language. It’s both hilarious and endearing.
