Meet Diesel — confidence level: 100%. Life experience: still loading. Hi! I’m Diesel, an 8–10 month old Chocolate Lab/Pitbull mix, and I’m a very happy, very sweet boy who is still figuring out how this big old world works. The humans here think I may have spent most of my life as an outdoor dog because some everyday indoor things are still a little strange to me. Doorways, for example. I sometimes approach them like they might be a trap. But give me a person I trust, some patience and a little training, and I’m pretty sure I’ll have this whole indoor-dog thing figured out in no time. I do well with well-rounded dogs, although I should probably confess something: I currently think I’m perfect. If another dog tries to correct my manners, I’m not always convinced they know what they’re talking about. I’m still young, though, and with continued socialization, training and some good canine role models, I have lots of time to learn. Then there are cats. I recently took a stroll through the cat room, walking past cats AND bunnies without much concern. One cat decided I was getting a little too close and gave me a hiss. Friends, I was DEVASTATED. I backed right up with my feelings thoroughly hurt. Based on what the humans have seen so far, they think I could do well in a home with dog-friendly cats with proper introductions. Mostly, I’m just a young guy looking for a family who understands that I’m still learning. I’m sweet, happy, eager to experience life and ready for someone to help me become the very best Diesel I can be. My adoption fee is $300.
