Sophie was surrendered to the shelter due to killing chickens. Sophie is friendly towards larger dogs. She is friendly towards children, but sometimes jumps on them. She is NOT friendly towards cats (she chases them), or livestock. Sophie has always lived outdoors, so she is not housetrained or crate trained. Sophie would do best as an outside dog because she tends to chew anything she can reach. She is protective of her yard and will bark to let you know someone is coming. She also likes to dig! She knows a few commands: stay and get down. Sophie likes going for walks and would make a good running partner. She does not love baths, but she tolerates them. Sophie is spayed and could go home immediately. Her adoption fee will include her vaccinations, and a microchip. She is heartworm NEGATIVE.

They call me Exuberant, Handsome and Sweet but you can choose a new name for me when we adopt each other. I don’t care what you call me, as long as you call me. I’m a happy dog who loves people more than anything else in the world. I’m a 4 year old Pitbull Lab (?) mix, with a 22” collar and am very big and strong. The Vet said I weigh 73 pounds. Don’t let that scare you because I am just a mushy ball of love. I like to let everyone know how happy I am to see them by twirling around and wagging my tail as fast as it will go. This is usually when they call me Exuberant. I like to have fun. Because I’m such a good boy, I’m allowed in the house and have good potty manners. I prefer being inside with people at night especially. You can hold the TV remote for us. Since I have a lot of energy and need exercise, your large fenced yard will be well-used. My foster peeps say I need a family, not a job. They know that I’m a quick learner and will be someone’s best dog ever with some training. Because I’m big and young at heart, my new humans should have some experience with dogs and be able to work with someone of my stature. I promise I will try to do everything you ask enthusiastically. Fortunately, my past dog life doesn’t include any physical abuse so I’m not afraid of people or other animals. I don’t like loud booming noises (fireworks or dynamite) or gunfire so I wouldn’t be a good hunting dog. Health wise, I am terrific; up to date on shots and tested negative for heartworms. Recently I was tricked into getting “tutored” and woke up with my bubbles missing. Foster peeps say it means I will get my forever home very soon! Maybe it’s yours! Andre is sweet, sensitive, and loving. He loves to go outside, but prefers to stay close to you. He likes to pretend to be your shadow. He enjoys playing with toys- especially braided ropes! He enjoys swinging them around and tossing them up in the air. He needs to be supervised with ropes- sometimes he gets so excited that he starts to eat them! Andre is an adorable bundle of awkwardness, and you can't help but to laugh at his clumsiness sometimes! He gets VERY excited when a potential adopter stops by his kennel and gets a surge of energy. Give him a few minutes to get his awkward jitters out, and you will see him transform into a completely different dog. Andre was recently adopted but was returned for chewing an unattended shoe. He will need an adopter who is able to provide chew toys and bones and is also willing to redirect him to those items as needed. He is a puppy, after all! He has spent about half of his life in the shelter, so the outside world is new to him. He will need guidance as he learns which items in your home are for him to chew on. Andre did well with cats in his previous home. He has never been around livestock or chickens. His adoption fee will include age appropriate vaccines, a heartworm test, spay/neuter surgery, and a microchip. He is already neutered and can go home with you today!
