Story
Meet Poppy. Poppy is an adorable 4-month-old, 13 pound, male Cockapoo (Cocker Spaniel/Poodle mix). Poppy is an extremely sweet, happy-go-lucky little pup. He loves to spend time wrestling with his foster brothers and sisters, playing in the yard, and snuggling with his foster mom. Poppy has a real pleasant temperament. He is eager to please and relatively calm for a puppy. He likes to stay close to his foster mom, (like walking between her ankles). But, as long as he is sure that she’s staying put, he is quite the explorer. He barks at appropriate times, like when the neighbor’s dog makes an appearance or when foster mom appears to be leaving. But his barking is with purpose and not frivolous. He is a good car rider and an even better snuggler. He has gotten along well with all of the dogs in his foster home, and has never shown any aggression, even when all eating together. He is ready to start his potty and leash training. Poppy is an extremely sweet and playful puppy. As with all puppies, he will need to be taught boundaries and be given the opportunity for regular exercise. If you believe that you have the right home to give Poppy the love and commitment he deserves, please apply today. He would be a wonderful addition to most families. Poppy is fostered in the Cincinnati area. His adoption fee is $450.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Lucy Lou🐾, a 5-year old, 17lb Cocker Spaniel who is learning to feel safe & loved with family. Lucy Lou is a shy, gentle girl who is still getting used to trusting humans. Lucy Lou is a little nervous to be held & cuddled, but with time & patience, she is sure to melt your heart. She gets along well with other dogs but hasn’t been around cats. Lucy Lou would fit best with older children as she continues to build her confidence. Lucy Lou is crate trained, working on house training but is kept on a consistent schedule in her foster home. Leash training is still a work in progress. Lucy Lou loves being free in a fenced back yard to explore at her own pace. Because she didn’t have a good diet earlier in life, Lucy Lou has had multiple teeth extracted. Lucy Lou has a sister named Darcy. If you’re looking for a lovely sister duo, consider applying for both so they can continue their journey together. Lucy Lou is looking for a patient home, that will give her time to blossom. With a little understanding and a lot of love, Lucy Lou will ultimately be your best friend for life. Lucy Lou is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $450.00.
