Meet Winchester! This Chocolate Dreamboat is a handsome 10-month-old male Boykin Spaniel mix weighing approximately 50 pounds. Winchester is happy, friendly with meeting new people, intelligent, playful, and full of life—and he is ready to find a family who can give him the time, attention, and adventures he deserves.  His current family took him as a puppy and now realize that his intelligence and need for exercise is something they cannot give him. They are willing to have a great home found for him by Critter Cavalry Rescue who will place him in the perfect hands.  What we know about Winchester is that he does wonderfully with other dogs, children, and even cats, making him a great candidate for many types of families. He is very smart and eager to learn. Although he has not yet been crate trained, his intelligence and willingness to learn should make training a rewarding experience for a family willing to spend the time with him.  Like most young, active dogs, Winchester has plenty of energy! His ideal home would have a large, safely fenced yard where he can run and play, or an active owner or family who will include him in their adventures. He would love going on daily walks, hikes, boating trips, and outdoor excursions. Winchester isn’t looking for a life on the sidelines—he wants to be part of the family and part of the fun! Winchester has so much love, companionship, and adventure ahead of him. Hi! My name is Remi and I am a pocket sized (33 lb) orange and white...almost red...roan Brittany and I'm looking for my forever family. Check out my photos! People always tell me I'm SO handsome. I am 4 years old, neutered, up to date on my vaccines, HW negative (just went through HW treatment), microchipped, and I'm fit as a fiddle. Now that the boring stuff has been covered, let me tell you the good stuff about me . I really like to go for walks. Foster mum says I'm pretty good on a leash. Sometimes I will bark or growl at other dogs when on a walk, but I do go to daycare and get along with everyone there. It's a leash thing. I am very good at basic commands and will sit when asked and will wait for you to take off my leash or feed me etc. I am a sensitive little boy and I am looking for someone who likes to snuggle. I will happily curl up on the couch or your bed with you. I do get nervous around smaller kids and don't like loud/sudden noises, so an adult only home or home with older, considerate kids would be best. I think I'd be great with an active senior or retired couple who are home a lot so they can hang with me! I don't need another dog in the house and would be okay as your only dog. I may be nervous at first, but with your patience and some snuggles, I'm sure we will be the best of friends. Allow me to introduce myself! My name is Hank and I am approximately 18 months old. When I got to NBRAN, I visited the vet and got all my vaccines and I was neutered. I am heartworm negative and I take my monthly heartworm preventatives like a good boy! I am a very handsome male French Brittany, if I do say so myself. Actually, everyone that meets me says I am very handsome! The only thing cuter than my adorable looks is my bigger than life comedic personality. My foster mom thinks I am hilarious! At 30 lbs., I am a little guy. I can be very shy, but I can also be very loving. At times, I get intimidated by loud noises. I lived in a kennel with a concrete floor and did not play or walk in the grass much. That makes going to the potty on the grass at my foster home confusing for me. I am modest when I do my business, so I like my foster mom to look away and give me privacy. I am almost totally housetrained, but my foster mom lets me wear a belly band to keep me from getting the urge to hike my leg in the house. I am extremely smart and I really like to please my human. I would love a home with a doggie friend that would help me learn the ropes and be my playmate. I have never been around cats, but I do not think I would like them very much! My foster family loves me but wants me to have a family of my very own. I want a home with a fenced backyard to run in, and a doggie door would help me get 100% housetrained (only 10% to go), although it is not a “must have.”  I am more motivated by affection than food, even though I love chicken and pupperoni sticks. Before bed I even like a Milkbone! I walk politely on a leash, enjoy riding in the car and I am not destructive. While I can be reactive to loud noises, I am not particularly scared of thunderstorms. Do you think you would like me to be part of your family? If you have patience and a loving home where I can have fenced yard, I would love to come live with you! My adoption fee is $400 to help offset the expenses associated with getting me (and other fabulous, rescued Brittanys) in excellent condition for a fabulous new home. You do not have to live in Tennessee, NBRAN will transport me up to 1400 miles to my furever home. Story
Pete is a 4-year-old Brittany neutered male. He is an endearing quirky boy that is kind, gentle and affectionate. Pete was born with cataracts and was completely blind when he came to NBRAN. A diagnosis and treatment plan that included surgery was quickly decided after an NBRAN volunteer took Pete to an appointment with a doggie ophthalmologist. The surgery was successful and Pete regained his sight.  Even though the surgery was successful, Pete can become fixated on light and shadows. Pete's favorite activity is playing fetch and retrieving the ball.  Like lots of Brittanys, Pete has been known to try and occasionally succeed in eating nonfood items. While Pete is outside, if exposed to items like sticks and acorns, he needs to be watched. But most of the time, he is far too busy joyfully retrieving a ball instead of eating things he should not. Like a typical young dog, he will eat items inside he should not. Pete has been trained to wear a muzzle and does not mind it if his adopter feels necessary. He is crate trained, but no blankets, pillows, or pads please. If you want a lovebug, Pete is your dog. Did I mention he loves belly rubs? While Pete can be quite social with older considerate children and adults, he is not so great with other dogs. Pete MUST BE THE ONLY DOG IN THE HOME-NO EXCEPTIONS! He is so kind to people and he has the softest touch. He will be a great companion for a retired family or families with older children. A secure fenced yard would be ideal for him to be able to explore and to safely fetch the ball. Pete's foster mom loves him and so will you. Pete is a great leash walker and has perfect recall. He is neutered and up to date on his vaccines. Pete requires eye drops once a day, but do not let that influence your decision not to learn more about this sweet boy. Reach out to us and let us discuss it. Other than that, Pete is extremely healthy.    He loves to ride in the car and watch the world go by while looking out the window. Pete is eager to please and will do anything ask of him. He is a happy dog and when he is tired, he loves to sit and cuddle.    Precious Pete's adoption Fee is $400 to help offset medical expenses. NBRAN will provide transportation, up to 1400 miles, to an approved home.
