Papaya is a favorite here at the ranch. She loves to walk and smell everything. She loves to play with her best friend Tofu. She gets along with other dogs as long as there is a proper introduction. She is full of energy so she is ideal for taking on an adventure. She would be best in a home with older kids. She is very loving and always looking for rubs and treats. She is one of those dogs that just wants to have fun. She follows commands and is always willing to learn. She is spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Camden is 3yo, weighs 60lbs, is neutered, is microchipped, but is not up to date on his vaccines.  Camden's guardian adds:  "He knows 'sit', 'stay', 'lay down', 'come', fetches well, basic hand targeting, 'catch' ball out of air.  Very smart dog and fast learner who does well with commands and tasks.  Cam is one of the smartest and most affectionate/sweet dogs I have had/met.  He is extremely loyal, eager to please and loves to be snuggled/rubbed.  Camden dislikes/fears fire, smoke, long objects in hand, alarms, and balloons.  He does very well, likes the car, is trained to stay in the back seat.  He has free roam of the house during the day and at night is in hallway of upstairs/roams outside of bedroom."   Camden's guardian explains why he has made the difficult decision to rehome him: "Camden is a protective and at times nervous dog.  He has growled as a protective measure at both me and my wife, as well as a few others.  He has nipped at/lunged/grazed my sister-in-law twice.  His aggression has always been circumstantial and brought on by feeling not at ease/threatened or over stimulated. As we grow our family, managing his interaction with our babies, and with others who have to come and go from the house is challenging and creates a situation where separating him from the family so often is more harmful and stressful than we'd like, for both him and us. Bite/Lunge/Attack Incidents:  In December 2022 and in October 2023, Camden bit an extended family member; the bite broke the skin; animal control was not involved; medical treatment was not necessary.  Camden's guardian explains:   "12/2022: Camden received a new toy for Christmas.  My sister-in-law went to retrieve the toy, which Camden quickly had become protective over.  He lunged at her when she reached for it, growling and broke the skin. 10/2023: We had gotten home from a fairly long time away from the house and were with my sister-in-law and wife's parents.  My father-in-law was playing with Cam in one room, and my sister-in-law (who Cam has frequently been uneasy around) came into the room. Cam felt threatened (maybe protective of my father-in-law) and went after her, breaking skin when he lunged at her.  My father-in-law and I separated him, but a bruise and scratch/small bite mark was left." Camden's guardian states the following regarding children:  Camden lives with 2 children, 2-week-old twins, but his guardian doesn't recommend his living with children, stating "Inquisitive, smells them, protective/anxious presence around them, curious". Camden's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Camden doesn't live with a dog, so his guardian doesn't recommend his living with dogs, stating "When he was younger, he did very well, but around and after his neutering he became more aggressive when around dogs.  Has not spent significant time with other dogs for over a year". Camden's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Camden doesn't live with a cat, so his guardian doesn't recommend his living with cats, stating "Chases them". Camden's guardian describes him as: Playful Friendly Likes to be touched Affectionate Fearful Protective Always at your side Indoor dog Outdoor dog Nervous House-Trained Likes men Likes women Camden's guardian describes his ideal future home:   "Ideal future home is a family without kids in the house who has a relatively quiet home life without many people (strangers) coming and going.  Cam does well with people he knows but can get overstimulated and anxious when too many people are in the family space for extended time.  Ideally the home would have space for him to play fetch and even explore with his owners (like a small farm).  He is a very active and playful dog who could benefit from more work outside.  Cam is one of the smartest and most affectionate/sweet dogs I have had/met.  He is extremely loyal, eager to please, and loves to be snuggled/rubbed.  He needs to feel assured and cared for and would benefit from owners who are attentive to when he cues for being on high alert/threatened." Story
Penny is a 19 month old Brittany/Hound mix. She is UTD on vaccines, microchipped, Heartworm negative and on preventative.  She minds her foster mom really well and has great recall. Penny knows the command sit and is working on stay. She is not very vocal and does not bark much. She loves running in the yard and is good with other dogs. Penny loves her toys and she also loves treats. Penny is a very healthy girl. Penny's foster mom says she is not destructive and loves to lounge in her dog bed. Because she gets overly excited, Penny jumps on people, but her foster mom is working with her.  Because of her jumping, Penny will not be a good fit for a home with small children.  Penny is being fostered in Tennessee. Her adoption fee is $325.00 and can be transported up to 1400 miles via our Canine Railroad with the adopter taking the last leg, usually less than 100 miles.  Applications for Penny can be found on www.nbran.org.  For more information, email dltuthill@epbfi.com or ztasuzanne@gmail.com.  April 26, 2024, 4:20 pm

Story
Introducing Sadie!  Sadie is a cuddle bug that is 9 years old.  She's a beautiful liver and white female brittany, weighing about 37 pounds. Sadie loves the freedom to run without a leash and run the fence perimeter.  She would love to chase rabbits and squirrels.  She walks fairly well on a lead or harness, but is still a big puller.   A physical fenced yard is a must for her, as she needs space to run.   She is very loyal and watches over her person.  She loves chew toys.  She is ok with other dogs as long as they don’t rush to her face.  Sadie would do best as an only dog Sadie is housebroken and low maintenance. She prefers to stay home, with a comfy dog bed. She likes to be petted and have space to run off her energy.  Sadie is heartworm negative, spayed and microchipped.  She doesn't mind getting bathed or towel dried. If  you are looking for a great family pet that likes to travel in the car, golf cart  or patrol the perimeter of the fenced yard / property she is your girl.  She will keep the bunnies and squirrels from eating your flowers and shrubs on your fenced property.  She will need a four-to-five-foot fence.  Sadie loves being outside with her people but enjoys the comfort of dog beds and bed pillows to grab a nap in between bird watching out the window and running outside. Please consider opening your heart and home to Sadie!  Sadie's adoption fee is $350.  Please complete an adoption application at www.nbran.org and specify her name.  She is currently located in northwestern Georgia  and is available to be transported up to 1400 miles, with the adopter driving the last 100 miles approximately.   If you are interested in giving Sadie her forever home, please reach out to LeslieTrenta@leslie@leslietrentadesigns.com     April 26, 2024, 4:20 pm

Story
Buddy is a sweet, but very shy liver and white 3 1/2 year old brittany. It takes a while for him to warm up to someone, but once he does, he is kind and affectionate. The best home for Buddy would be a patient home that has experience with bringing a shy, tramatized dog out of his shell.  Buddy is submissive and just needs a lot of love and reassurance.  His confidence has grown in the last few months, but he still has a way to go. Having a safe place is important. He likes to sleep in his crate with the door open, and is getting used to being in a closed crate when his people are away. Buddy is learning to play and play is an essential part of his ongoing training. He also requires a lot of exercise to build his physical and emotional state, so a yard is necessary for Buddy. He loves to be outside and a kiddie pool is his favorite in summer.  An older, calmer dog would be best, if there is another dog in the home. Buddy doesn't choose to interact until he feels entirely comfortable.  Buddy is very low energy. His requirements are small, a safe place, patience, play, and exercise. With these, he will continue to improve and soon become a normally adjusted dog and a wonderful addition to a family.  Please consider adopting Buddy. He's healthy, neutered, up to date on vaccinations and preventatives and microchipped. He weighs 32 pounds and is located in NW Georgia. Buddy can be transported up to 1400 miles to his new home, with the adopter driving the last 100 miles. His adoption fee is $400. Please submit an adoption application at www.nbran.org and mention his name if you are interested in adopting him.  For any questions, please email Karen Carr at kecarr72@icloud.com or Jessica Stevenson at  jessica@thesouthernway.com April 26, 2024, 4:20 pm
