Story
PORTABELLA IS IN HER FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO CT ONCE SHE IS ADOPTED! Portabella is a gorgeous grey/white British/Domestic shorthair mix. She was loved by someone at some time but showed up at a colony one day to be fed. The colony caregiver noticed that she was definitely friendly and thought she was a "he" because there were no litters over several months.  One day she showed up terribly injured (having been caught in a car engine) and the caregiver reached out for help.  We sprang into action and got her to our vet, surgically repaired her broken jaw, and got pain meds for her carpal hyperextended leg.  We also discovered she had a spay tattoo and had been previously spayed.  After no-one came forward (no microchip) to claim her, one of our fantastic fosters agreed to make a spot for her and her beautiful personality blossomed during recovery. Portabella loves a cushy window seat to view the outside and make biscuits.  She LOVES her wet food (the diet during jaw repair) so she will likely beg for it. :)  She likes to snuggle but will get into "play" mode quickly with a few soft nibbles.  She would make a great kitty for a family with older kids familiar with cats. She prefers to be the only kitty, but will tolerate younger kitties. She has been spay/neutered, microchipped, had all age appropriate vaccines, and a confirmed negative FeLV/FIV test.  The adoption fee of $295 includes the transport to CT.  We use a licensed and registered USDA transport company that will deliver Portabella up north to her new family. If you are interested in adopting, please go to our website and complete our adoption application at this link:  http://www.newbeginningsanimalrescue.net   Once your application is received and processed you will be contacted by an NBAR Volunteer. DEUCE IS IN HIS FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS TN AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO CT ONCE HE IS ADOPTED! This is DEUCE. He is a gorgeous striped tabby. He will need a special patient person as he is still extremely shy.  With the right amount of patience, he will make a great kitty in a quiet home.  He is very food motivated.  He is not recommended for dogs or children. He would probably do best with a gentle outgoing companion to help him get out of his shell. He  is neutered, has had all age appropriate vaccines, microchip, and a confirmed NEGATIVE FIV/FeLV test.  His adoption fee of $295 also includes the transport to CT.  We use a licensed and registered USDA transport company that will bring her up north once she is adopted. *** For Information about Adopting or Meeting our Cats, Click Here to Submit an Application. Once Approved you can make an Appointment *** Bean Bag is the best! Beanie showed up in a colony and was instantly noted as a friendly. Some time during his outside adventures Beanie became FIV+ but you would never know, he is in great shape and lives nicely with other cats. Beanie is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and ready for his forever home. This kitty has tested positive for FIV, similar to HIV in people. It can not be transmitted through casual contact, sharing food, water, or a litter box. It can not be transmitted to people or other pet species. It is typically only transmitted to other cats via a deep bite wound. FIV positive cats can live long and healthy lives! They do tend to have more dental issues and absolutely must be kept safely indoors at all times.
