Story
*** For Information about Adopting or Meeting our Cats, Click Here to Submit an Application. Once Approved you can make an Appointment *** Bean Bag is the best! Beanie showed up in a colony and was instantly noted as a friendly. Some time during his outside adventures Beanie became FIV+ but you would never know, he is in great shape and lives nicely with other cats. Beanie is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and ready for his forever home. This kitty has tested positive for FIV, similar to HIV in people. It can not be transmitted through casual contact, sharing food, water, or a litter box. It can not be transmitted to people or other pet species. It is typically only transmitted to other cats via a deep bite wound. FIV positive cats can live long and healthy lives! They do tend to have more dental issues and absolutely must be kept safely indoors at all times.

I got him from a friend who found him as a kitten on the street. I took him in and a vet checked him. He had a rare birth defect but the vet was able to fix it. She was so kind that she didn’t charge because i did not have the money. Fast forward almost 4 years, i live in a place where medics come in and out, very small apartment, with two small barking dogs. I need to find him a home where there is stress free conditions and minimal noise.

Story
Hello, I am unfortunately considering letting go of my gorgeous baby, Zaeva Xue. My allergies are just too severe. She is a 9 year old purebred British Shorthair from China. Looking for a family that will pamper her like she deserves. Zaeva is the most mellow, quiet cat. She’s a perfect balance of independent and cuddly. Loves to sleep. She’s really only interested in toys if there’s catnip on it and it dangles ( like a wand). She was able to handle being in the presence of my hyperactive toddler. I got her from a shelter. She was dropped there by her previous owners because she had bladder stones. She had surgery before I adopted her. Zaeva also needs to be given a bath once a week and brushed at least twice a week. Trust me - it’s mandatory for the way she sheds and her grooming behavior. The rehoming fee includes everything you’ll need for her, saving you lots of money. I have all her papers, as well.

Story
PORTABELLA IS IN HER FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO CT ONCE SHE IS ADOPTED! Portabella is a gorgeous grey/white British/Domestic shorthair mix. She was loved by someone at some time but showed up at a colony one day to be fed. The colony caregiver noticed that she was definitely friendly and thought she was a "he" because there were no litters over several months.  One day she showed up terribly injured (having been caught in a car engine) and the caregiver reached out for help.  We sprang into action and got her to our vet, surgically repaired her broken jaw, and got pain meds for her carpal hyperextended leg.  We also discovered she had a spay tattoo and had been previously spayed.  After no-one came forward (no microchip) to claim her, one of our fantastic fosters agreed to make a spot for her and her beautiful personality blossomed during recovery. Portabella loves a cushy window seat to view the outside and make biscuits.  She LOVES her wet food (the diet during jaw repair) so she will likely beg for it. :)  She likes to snuggle but will get into "play" mode quickly with a few soft nibbles.  She would make a great kitty for a family with older kids familiar with cats. She prefers to be the only kitty, but will tolerate younger kitties. She has been spay/neutered, microchipped, had all age appropriate vaccines, and a confirmed negative FeLV/FIV test.  The adoption fee of $295 includes the transport to CT.  We use a licensed and registered USDA transport company that will deliver Portabella up north to her new family. If you are interested in adopting, please go to our website and complete our adoption application at this link:  http://www.newbeginningsanimalrescue.net   Once your application is received and processed you will be contacted by an NBAR Volunteer. DEUCE IS IN HIS FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS TN AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO CT ONCE HE IS ADOPTED! This is DEUCE. He is a gorgeous striped tabby. He will need a special patient person as he is still extremely shy.  With the right amount of patience, he will make a great kitty in a quiet home.  He is very food motivated.  He is not recommended for dogs or children. He would probably do best with a gentle outgoing companion to help him get out of his shell. He  is neutered, has had all age appropriate vaccines, microchip, and a confirmed NEGATIVE FIV/FeLV test.  His adoption fee of $295 also includes the transport to CT.  We use a licensed and registered USDA transport company that will bring her up north once she is adopted. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please note that we can not guarantee the age, expected weight or breed of any animal. What we provide is our best estimates based on our experience and the information provided by the our medical partners. If breed and eventual size are of great importance we suggest looking into a breed specific rescue or adopting a full grown animal. Unless otherwise noted, ALL animals are fostered and available for adoption on Long Island, NY.  Meet JACK. Our vet reached out about Jack when they found out that his owners wanted to euthanize a very healthy boy just because they were moving and he doesn’t like the car. We of course jumped in and made it so that never happened! Now this sweet boys life is turned upside down and he has now been uprooted from his home and at our vet until he we find him a foster or forever home. He is such a sweet boy and deserves a home that isn’t going to leave him behind all because they are moving. JACK does require S/O food due to a history of urinary stones. But since his diet, he has had no problems! This sweet boy just wants a home, will that be you?    This baby is spayed/neutered, UTD on vaccinations, is FIV and FeLV/Feline Leukemia Negative, and ready to find a soft spot to land and enjoy a family!   we are a foster based organization located on Long Island, NY. We do out of state adoptions within a reasonable diatance. Please visit LCARescue.org for an application or more information!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.
