Copper is a distinguished 9-year-old Lab/Spaniel mix who has perfected the art of being both a fun-loving playmate and a professional cuddle buddy. At 55 pounds, this handsome gentleman is friendly, affectionate, and happiest when he’s spending time with his people.Copper loves fetch, especially when his favorite humans are doing the throwing, and he has an adorable way of showing his excitement: he tap dances! He’s also a huge fan of water, hard chew bones, and settling down for some relaxing cuddle time after play. Squeaky toys, however, are definitely not his thing.This sweet older guy is fully house-trained, crate-trained, and comfortable being left alone. He rarely barks and has settled beautifully into his foster home after some initial whining and anxiety. These days, he happily sleeps through the day and enjoys a lower-energy lifestyle with a daily walk and some playtime. Copper loves people, although he can be a little nervous around men at first. Thankfully, he warms up quickly! Because he can get mouthy when playing, he would do best in a home without children under 13; dog-savvy older kids may be a possibility.Copper takes a daily pill for arthritis, but otherwise he’s ready to enjoy the good life. Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.
