Story
Ollie is a 5 1/2 year old Brittany Spaniel who loves being the life of the party (b. 2018). He may seem quiet at first, but once you get to know him, you'll discover that this boy is full of joy, energy, and personality! Ollie is potty trained, crate trained, and knows some commands and he'll let you know it, too! One of his favorite tricks to show off is "speak". He'll tell you when he has to go potty, when it's time for his daily walk, or when he's ready to head outside and play.  Ollie loves to run, so it's important his forever home has a fenced in yard where he can safely do so. Because he doesn't have a yard now, he confuses front doors with opportunity, and if a door is left open, he will take any opportunity to go for a nice run around town. The only thing Ollie loves more than running and exploring is his people and fur-siblings! Ollie is amazing with kids, dogs, and cats. He loves being around other people and pets so much that he gets bored when he's alone, so he'd do best in a home with another pet.  If you're looking for a spunky, loyal, and super loving boy to add to your family, apply to adopt Ollie today!  The suggested adoption donation for Ollie is $375, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
Ruffles may not have had the greatest start to her young life, but she is doing her best to make up for lost time! Ruffles has the biggest goofy smile, and is never happier than when she is with her people. She is endlessly loyal, a constant shadow, and is a professional cuddler! She wants nothing more than to sleep through the night pressed against your side and spend her days curled up on the couch in your lap. Ruffles is happy to let you know how grateful she is for love and attention by gently picking up shoes, toys, and anything else she can find and bring them to you as an offering. Her favorite things are stuffed animals and toys she can easily carry, but chew bones are a close second. Ruffles is definitely shy around new people, but as soon as she learns you are someone she can trust, you will be greeted with the biggest full body wiggles and belly flops she can physically muster! Ruffles is constantly curious and wants to experience new things, but can be hesitant to start. She learns best by sitting and observing before trying and joining, but she is incredibly intelligent and is eager to please. She is learning basic commands, settles perfectly in her crate, and is doing great with potty training! Because of her shyer nature, she would do best in a home with a fenced yard where she can learn to feel secure and be safe. Ruffles has shown some resource guarding behaviors, guarding her chosen person from other people, so a dog savvy forever family without young children is a must. However, she has not had any issues with other animals or around food, toys, or treats, so those things make her very compatible with other pets. Ruffles has gotten along wonderfully with both the dogs and cats in her foster home, and would enjoy their company in her forever! Ruffles is a precious, sweet, girl who is learning what it means to be a happy puppy and wants to enjoy all life has to offer. She has already grown and opened up tremendously in the short time she has been with Dolly’s Legacy, and with the loving forever family she is so ready for, she will only continue to blossom! Ruffles requires a home with a fenced yard, no apartment. No big dogs and no children, as they scare her. Ruffles is a Brittany Spaniel mix who was was born approximately 9-9-23 and weighs 26 lbs but may still have some growing to do. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed and started on heartworm prevention. Adoption fee is $500 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care.
