Story
Meet Chili Chili is a beautiful 4-year-old French Brittany with a gentle heart and a quiet spirit. She came into rescue as part of a large owner surrender, and it quickly became clear that she hadn't experienced much of the world outside of a kennel. Human affection, toys, and simply being a beloved family dog were all new to her. Since joining NBRAN, Chili has been discovering just how wonderful life can be, and watching her blossom has been incredibly rewarding. Every day brings a little more confidence and another small victory. These days, you'll often find Chili curled up on the couch beside her foster mom or dad, happily chewing on a favorite bone, or playing an enthusiastic game of tag with her foster fur sister. She enjoys going for walks and walks nicely on a leash, and she's always excited for treats and mealtime. Chili's happy place is indoors, close to the people she trusts. While she still cowers if someone reaches to pet her too quickly, she truly enjoys affection once she realizes she's safe. She simply needs a patient hand and the time to come to you on her own terms. She's a wonderful passenger in the car, settles in easily for rides, and is making steady progress with house training. Although she's had a few accidents, she's improving every day with consistency and routine. Like many dogs who missed out on early socialization, Chili is still learning how to "dog." Because of this, she would do best with another confident, playful dog who can continue showing her that the world is a fun and safe place. She gets along well with both dogs and cats. While she hasn't been around children in foster care, older, respectful kids who understand how to give a shy dog space would likely do well with her. Chili isn't looking for perfection—she's looking for patience, kindness, and a family willing to celebrate the little milestones. In return, you'll have the privilege of watching a timid girl transform into a confident, loving companion. If you've ever wanted to change a dog's life simply by giving them the love they've always deserved, Chili is waiting to meet you. Story
Buddy Holly Have you ever looked into the eyes of a dog? I mean really looked. Hi.My  name is Martha. Buddy asked me to  write his bio since his English is not good. Although I have never met Buddy, I have looked into his eyes in the photos taken of him. In them I have found kindness, earnestness, love, and vulnerability. I have owned and cared for three Brittanys from their youth to their elder years. Without a doubt, I can tell you that the elder ones are a delight and eager to please.  Buddy at 9 years is a liver and white Brittany mix currently being fostered in Michigan. He is curious and playful, but also has a mellow side to him.. In broken English Buddy tells me he loves to run around the yard with surges of  joyful enthusiasm. After his energy runs out, he likes to relax with a nap or snuggle.   Going for a walk is one of his preferred activities. His stuffed animals and squeaky toys are his treasures, and he can be seen showing them off with pride wherever he goes. He tells me that when he plays with his squeaky toys, he pretends to be one of them and tries to squeak back, hoping to sound like his namesake. However, he realizes this is a lost cause and contents himself with burping now and then. Buddy is house trained and crate trained. Since he is not a fan of other dogs,  he tells me he would be happy to be the only pet his home. He is informed me that he would prefer to be in a calm home with adults or older kids familiar with canine behavior who can give him the space he need and appreciate his relax relaxed way of life. Although he has not been tested with children, his calm and engaging manner would more than make up for this.  Buddy is a sturdy dog who is in excellent health and takes no medications. He is a serious alarm system. He will let you know if something out of the ordinary is going on around the house. He has an impish strain, such as digging when bored. He will be at his best if he has structured play time or organized activities to occupy his inquisitive mind. Buddy is a dog with healthy contrasts. He is able to juggle joy and companionship. He can be playful without being overwhelming, devoted without being clingy, and thoroughly faithful.  Buddy wants you to know the following:  " I don't drink alcohol or use illicit drugs. I don't smoke or drink coffee. I have never been arrested. You will find me to be of sound character. I may have bursts of enthusiasm, but I also like to snuggle on the couch and watch Netflix with you."   Could you be the one to give this sweet boy the forever home he deserves? Story
Meet Your New Best Friend! Jayce is a 3-year-old Brittnay Mix who is looking for his forever home. While he might be a little shy when you first meet him, give him a moment to come out of his shell, and you'll find a funny, bouncy, and deeply loving companion. Jayce is a "paws-on" kind of dog! He is famous for his hugs and will spend his time trying to wrap his paws around you if he isn't already trying to curl up in your lap. He is the perfect blend of a lounge partner and a playmate. Because of his cautious temperament, Jayce has some specific needs to help him feel safe and successful: No Other Dogs: He prefers being the "only child" and can be reactive toward strange dogs. Quiet Environment: He would not enjoy the high-stress environment of a dog park. Patient Humans: He needs an owner who understands he needs to approach new things at his own pace. No Strangers (at first): He can be vocal with people he doesn't know, but his loyalty to his inner circle is unmatched. If you have the patience to let him blossom, you will be rewarded with a level of love and loyalty that only a dog like Jayce can give. He is ready to be your most devoted friend. Jayce's adoption fee is $325 to offset the cost of vetting and help other rescues in need. He is currently located in Georgia and can be transported up to 1400 miles via our Canine Railroad. Story
Meet Sadie! Sadie is a beautiful, petite 3-year-old French Brittany with a joyful spirit and a heart that's ready to find her forever family. Don't let her small size fool you- this little girl is full of energy and enthusiasm.  She's looking for a patient, loving home where she can continue to grow into the wonderful companion she's meant to be. Sadie came to NBRAN from a large group of dogs that were owner surrendered, so she's very social with canine companions and would love a friendly dog in her new home to help her feel safe and confident. She also gets along well with cats, making her a great fit for a multi-pet household. If there's one thing Sadie loves most, it's being outdoors! Whether she's exploring the yard, sniffing every interesting scent, or heading out for a walk, she's happiest when she's on the move. She's an energetic girl who needs a securely fenced yard where she can safely stretch her legs.  She would also love an active family who enjoys daily walks, hikes, or outdoor adventures. She walks nicely on a leash and is always ready to see what the day has in store. Like many dogs who haven't had the opportunity to experience life as a cherished family pet, Sadie is still learning the routines of home life. She is making progress with housetraining but will need a family willing to be patient, consistent, and encouraging as she continues to learn. She's also not a fan of being crated and appears to be uncomfortable when confined, so she'd do best in a home where crating isn't part of her daily routine. Sadie can be a little shy when meeting new people and isn't quite ready to take treats from your hand, but she'll happily accept them if you leave them nearby. Every day she gains a little more confidence, and with gentle guidance and kindness, she's sure to continue blossoming into a loyal and devoted companion. Sadie's ideal home includes: A friendly canine companion A securely fenced yard or an active adopter who enjoys long walks A patient family committed to continuing her housetraining Someone who understands that trust takes time and is willing to let her progress at her own pace A home where she won't need to be crated for extended periods Cats are welcome! Sadie is a happy, affectionate little girl with so much love to give. She may need a little extra patience as she settles into her new life, but watching her confidence grow will be incredibly rewarding. If you're looking for a petite adventurous companion with a gentle heart and are ready to help her write the next chapter of her story, Sadie just might be the perfect match. If you feel you are the perfect fit for Sadie, fill out an application at: https://nbran.org/adopt/adoption-application.
