Story
Buddy Holly Have you ever looked into the eyes of a dog? I mean really looked. Hi.My  name is Martha. Buddy asked me to  write his bio since his English is not good. Although I have never met Buddy, I have looked into his eyes in the photos taken of him. In them I have found kindness, earnestness, love, and vulnerability. I have owned and cared for three Brittanys from their youth to their elder years. Without a doubt, I can tell you that the elder ones are a delight and eager to please.  Buddy at 9 years is a liver and white Brittany mix currently being fostered in Michigan. He is curious and playful, but also has a mellow side to him.. In broken English Buddy tells me he loves to run around the yard with surges of  joyful enthusiasm. After his energy runs out, he likes to relax with a nap or snuggle.   Going for a walk is one of his preferred activities. His stuffed animals and squeaky toys are his treasures, and he can be seen showing them off with pride wherever he goes. He tells me that when he plays with his squeaky toys, he pretends to be one of them and tries to squeak back, hoping to sound like his namesake. However, he realizes this is a lost cause and contents himself with burping now and then. Buddy is house trained and crate trained. Since he is not a fan of other dogs,  he tells me he would be happy to be the only pet his home. He is informed me that he would prefer to be in a calm home with adults or older kids familiar with canine behavior who can give him the space he need and appreciate his relax relaxed way of life. Although he has not been tested with children, his calm and engaging manner would more than make up for this.  Buddy is a sturdy dog who is in excellent health and takes no medications. He is a serious alarm system. He will let you know if something out of the ordinary is going on around the house. He has an impish strain, such as digging when bored. He will be at his best if he has structured play time or organized activities to occupy his inquisitive mind. Buddy is a dog with healthy contrasts. He is able to juggle joy and companionship. He can be playful without being overwhelming, devoted without being clingy, and thoroughly faithful.  Buddy wants you to know the following:  " I don't drink alcohol or use illicit drugs. I don't smoke or drink coffee. I have never been arrested. You will find me to be of sound character. I may have bursts of enthusiasm, but I also like to snuggle on the couch and watch Netflix with you."   Could you be the one to give this sweet boy the forever home he deserves? Story
Meet Your New Best Friend! Jayce is a 3-year-old Brittnay Mix who is looking for his forever home. While he might be a little shy when you first meet him, give him a moment to come out of his shell, and you'll find a funny, bouncy, and deeply loving companion. Jayce is a "paws-on" kind of dog! He is famous for his hugs and will spend his time trying to wrap his paws around you if he isn't already trying to curl up in your lap. He is the perfect blend of a lounge partner and a playmate. Because of his cautious temperament, Jayce has some specific needs to help him feel safe and successful: No Other Dogs: He prefers being the "only child" and can be reactive toward strange dogs. Quiet Environment: He would not enjoy the high-stress environment of a dog park. Patient Humans: He needs an owner who understands he needs to approach new things at his own pace. No Strangers (at first): He can be vocal with people he doesn't know, but his loyalty to his inner circle is unmatched. If you have the patience to let him blossom, you will be rewarded with a level of love and loyalty that only a dog like Jayce can give. He is ready to be your most devoted friend. Jayce's adoption fee is $325 to offset the cost of vetting and help other rescues in need. He is currently located in Georgia and can be transported up to 1400 miles via our Canine Railroad. Story
Please contact Suzanne (ztasuzanne@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Honey wants to add a little sweetness to your life! She is a beautiful 10 yr old spayed female purebred Brittany. She is sweet and loves to be with people.  Honey was surrendered to NBRAN because her owners had little humans enter their lives. Even though the little humans did not live there, the owners felt like their grands made Honey nervous and anxious when they visited. Never did Honey snap or bite the grandchildren, she just vocally let everyone know they were not her cup of tea. Honey is fully housetrained, does not prefer a crate and is trustworthy left alone unattended in the house. Although she is not extremely cautious with new acquaintances, she takes a while to warm up to people. When Honey was surrendered, she had a growth on her hind leg quarter. After meeting with the vet, it was decided that it would be best to remove the growth, even though it did not appear to be anything too serious. Once removed, the pathology confirmed it was 100% benign. Because Honey is an extremely active 10-year-old, the toughest part of recovery for her was having to “take it easy” for a few weeks. She has had her stitches removed and she is incredibly happy about being able to run and explore. Honey will tolerate other dogs, but she prefers humans, just not little humans. Because she is so spry, Honey would love a furever home with a fenced back yard where she can have plenty of room to chase birds and get lots of exercise.  At 55 lbs, Honey could stand to lose a few pounds, but the vet has given this beautiful girl a clean bill of health. Honey will walk on a leash in true Brittany style, becoming easily distracted by critters on the ground and in the air.  Below is Honey’s wishlist for her furever home: Fenced backyard No extended time left alone Kind humans ( older children only) Warm hugs and lots of love Only dog (will tolerate one other dog reluctantly) A house with NO feline siblings Honey's adoption fee is $250.  She is currently being fostered in West Tennessee but can be transported up to 1400 miles to an approved adopter. (with the adopter being responsible for the last up to 100 miles).
