Story
Buddy Holly Have you ever looked into the eyes of a dog? I mean really looked. Hi.My  name is Martha. Buddy asked me to  write his bio since his English is not good. Although I have never met Buddy, I have looked into his eyes in the photos taken of him. In them I have found kindness, earnestness, love, and vulnerability. I have owned and cared for three Brittanys from their youth to their elder years. Without a doubt, I can tell you that the elder ones are a delight and eager to please.  Buddy at 9 years is a liver and white Brittany mix currently being fostered in Michigan. He is curious and playful, but also has a mellow side to him.. In broken English Buddy tells me he loves to run around the yard with surges of  joyful enthusiasm. After his energy runs out, he likes to relax with a nap or snuggle.   Going for a walk is one of his preferred activities. His stuffed animals and squeaky toys are his treasures, and he can be seen showing them off with pride wherever he goes. He tells me that when he plays with his squeaky toys, he pretends to be one of them and tries to squeak back, hoping to sound like his namesake. However, he realizes this is a lost cause and contents himself with burping now and then. Buddy is house trained and crate trained. Since he is not a fan of other dogs,  he tells me he would be happy to be the only pet his home. He is informed me that he would prefer to be in a calm home with adults or older kids familiar with canine behavior who can give him the space he need and appreciate his relax relaxed way of life. Although he has not been tested with children, his calm and engaging manner would more than make up for this.  Buddy is a sturdy dog who is in excellent health and takes no medications. He is a serious alarm system. He will let you know if something out of the ordinary is going on around the house. He has an impish strain, such as digging when bored. He will be at his best if he has structured play time or organized activities to occupy his inquisitive mind. Buddy is a dog with healthy contrasts. He is able to juggle joy and companionship. He can be playful without being overwhelming, devoted without being clingy, and thoroughly faithful.  Buddy wants you to know the following:  " I don't drink alcohol or use illicit drugs. I don't smoke or drink coffee. I have never been arrested. You will find me to be of sound character. I may have bursts of enthusiasm, but I also like to snuggle on the couch and watch Netflix with you."   Could you be the one to give this sweet boy the forever home he deserves? Story
Meet Your New Best Friend! Jayce is a 3-year-old Brittnay Mix who is looking for his forever home. While he might be a little shy when you first meet him, give him a moment to come out of his shell, and you'll find a funny, bouncy, and deeply loving companion. Jayce is a "paws-on" kind of dog! He is famous for his hugs and will spend his time trying to wrap his paws around you if he isn't already trying to curl up in your lap. He is the perfect blend of a lounge partner and a playmate. Because of his cautious temperament, Jayce has some specific needs to help him feel safe and successful: No Other Dogs: He prefers being the "only child" and can be reactive toward strange dogs. Quiet Environment: He would not enjoy the high-stress environment of a dog park. Patient Humans: He needs an owner who understands he needs to approach new things at his own pace. No Strangers (at first): He can be vocal with people he doesn't know, but his loyalty to his inner circle is unmatched. If you have the patience to let him blossom, you will be rewarded with a level of love and loyalty that only a dog like Jayce can give. He is ready to be your most devoted friend. Jayce's adoption fee is $325 to offset the cost of vetting and help other rescues in need. He is currently located in Georgia and can be transported up to 1400 miles via our Canine Railroad. Story
Meet Hershey! Hershey is a handsome 3-year-old Brittany being fostered in Indiana with the classic personality the breed is known for—happy-go-lucky, affectionate, and always ready for his next adventure. Weighing in at a healthy 40 pounds, he's the perfect combination of playful energy and sweet companionship. Hershey loves being with his people and happily soaks up attention, especially ear rubs and butt scratches. When it's time to play, squeaky balls and his beloved Wubba toy are among his favorites. He enjoys romping with other dogs and plays nicely with his canine friends. His experience with cats is unknown. As a young Brittany, Hershey has plenty of natural curiosity and wants to investigate everything around him. He loves going for walks and riding in the car, making him an excellent companion for an active family. He is still polishing his leash manners, but with consistency and continued training, he'll continue to improve. Hershey is both house-trained and kennel-trained. He lets you know when he needs to go outside by going to the door or coming to find you. He's a well-mannered boy who knows the command "sit," takes treats gently, and has no issues with resource guarding. In fact, he's been comfortable having toys and treats taken from him and has remained gentle, even during energetic play. He isn't a jumper and has a wonderfully sweet nature. While Hershey enjoys affection, he's also a bit independent. If you lift him onto your lap, he's perfectly content to cuddle, but he won't invite himself onto the furniture. Like many young sporting dogs, his recall could use some work, so a securely fenced yard or commitment to leash safety will be important while he continues his training. Hershey is in excellent health with clear eyes, clean ears, healthy teeth and gums, a shiny coat, and an ideal weight. He'll let you know when someone passes by the house, making him a good little watchdog without being overbearing. If you're looking for a fun-loving, affectionate Brittany with a gentle heart, playful spirit, and plenty of potential, Hershey may be the perfect addition to your family. With love, continued guidance, and an active home, this sweet boy is sure to become a loyal and devoted companion. If you feel you are the perfect fit for Hershey, fill out an application at: https://nbran.org/adopt/adoption-application. Once your application is submitted the coordinator in the State where you reside will follow-up with you. Need to reach your State Coordinator, find their contact information here https://nbran.org/about/state-provincial-coordinators.   IN/Hershey’s adoption fee is $400.00 which will help NBRAN cover the vetting costs and other expenses associated vetting and readying our Britts ready for adoption.   Don't live in IN or close by? Story
Please contact Georgene (georgenenbran@yahoo.com) for more information about this pet.Meet Luke – A Gentle Soul Looking for His Fresh Start Luke is a handsome 3-year-old French Brittany whose life is just beginning to change for the better. He came into rescue as part of a large owner surrender after a breeder could no longer care for all of the dogs. While we don't know everything about Luke's past, it's clear he hasn't had many opportunities to experience life as a cherished family companion. Luke is a gentle, sweet-natured boy who is still learning to trust people. He can be a little hand-shy and takes time to warm up to new faces, so he'll need a patient adopter who understands that building trust can't be rushed. Once he feels safe, Luke enjoys being close to his person—often choosing to quietly relax nearby, content simply to be in your company. He's made wonderful progress in foster care. Luke is crate trained, sleeps quietly through the night, and happily stays in his crate when his family is away. He rides beautifully in the car, enjoys going for walks, gets along well with his two female Brittany foster sisters, and is a respectful houseguest who rarely gets into mischief. Luke is mostly house trained and has made significant improvements since being neutered. He occasionally marks indoors, but with consistency and routine, he's well on his way to becoming fully house trained. Because Luke lacks confidence, he would do best in a home with another friendly, well-adjusted dog who can help show him the ropes and provide reassurance. Most of all, he needs a family willing to give him the time, patience, and understanding he deserves as he learns what it means to simply be a beloved Brittany. If your heart is drawn to the dogs who need a little extra kindness and you're looking for the incredibly rewarding experience of helping a shy dog blossom, Luke may be the perfect addition to your family. Watching him discover love, security, and confidence will be a journey worth taking. Could you be the one to give this sweet boy the forever home he deserves?
