Story
Hi there! I’m Trace — your future best friend with a heart full of love and legs full of zoomies! I’m a young, handsome 46 lbs of lovable orange/white neutered Brittany boy who’s 2 yrs and learning that life is actually pretty great — especially when it involves snuggles, toys, and playing fetch (my fave!). I’ve come a long way since arriving at my foster home — no more cowering, no more accidents in the house, and I’m crushing my leash walks like a little champ. I’m super friendly and doing great with my foster brother Walker and our neighborhood playdates. I’d love to have another playful pup in my forever home — someone fun and energetic like me, or a chill buddy who doesn’t mind my puppy wiggles.  I need a fenced in yard to play with my new brother or sister, so we can patrol our yard together. Now, let’s be honest… I still have bursts of puppy energy and may turn your hallway into a racetrack when the zoomies hit, but hey — life’s a party! I also love to cuddle and be close to my people, though I’m still learning that “love bites” are best saved for toys (don’t worry, I’m working on it!). I’m housebroken, crate trained, not food aggressive (Walker and I even share bowls like fancy gentlemen), and I haven’t chewed anything I shouldn’t — unless you count chewing your heart with my cuteness. If you're looking for a goofy, loving, playful boy who’s already made huge strides and is only going to get better, I’m your Trace. Let’s chase balls, snuggle close, and make some tail-wagging memories together! I am utd on my vaccines, hw/tick neg and on prevention. I am a very healthy boy. The adoption fee for KS/Trace, who lives in Olathe, MO  is $400,  which helps to offset our vetting and allows NBRAN to rescue more of these wonderful family members.  If you are interested in making KS/Trace part of your family, please complete the online application by visiting www.nbran.org .  Contact the South Central Region Coordinators Melinde Waddle at macgammy@gmail.com  and/or Chris Wagoner at cwnbran@gmail.com and/or Nancy Walker at nwalker@capecod.net  and then let your state coordinator know so we can get the ball rolling.  A phone interview, home visit, and vet check will be required as part of the approval process by your state coordinator, before talking to the foster of Trace.  Transportation can be arranged up 1400 miles with the adopter being responsible for at least the last 100 miles.May 10, 2025, 11:19 am

Story
Meet Axel, a 7 1/2 year old purebred orange & white male brittany.  Axel loves other dogs & kids, but definitely no cats. He has a high prey drive and needs a steady job.  He would love the opportunity to hunt.  He is not gun shy and has excellent recall.   He must have a home with a lot of land. A working farm would be perfect for him.  He needs a lot of daily exercise and to be kept busy.  Axel is an escape artist and requires a privacy fence of at least 6' high.  He is an expert at escaping and considers it a great game.  Since he does have great recall, he comes back once called. However, he must be supervised when he's outside. This is why a lot of land, and away from roads, is important.  Axel is well socialized and will do anything you ask of him. He is very sweet, but driven and needs an outlet for his energy. He loves to be outside and is very goofy.  Like most bird dogs, he is not great on a leash, but does excellent on a long lead.  He is crate trained and should be crated when left alone.  He tends to get into mischief, especially if not highly exercised. Axel is neutered, heartworm negative, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. He is located in northwestern GA and is available for transport up to 1400 miles, with the adopter driving the last 100 miles to pick him up.  His adoption fee is $350.  If you are interested in adopting Axel, please submit an adoption application at www.nbran.org and mention his name. Also, feel free to reach out to jessica@thesouthernway.com with any questions.May 8, 2025, 8:42 pm

Story
Gentle & Vulnerable: My name is Zeke. I’m a special boy who’s still learning that the world is a safe place. I might need a little extra time, but I promise, once I trust you, my heart is all yours. I am a 8 1/2 yr old, 44 lbs of handsome orange/white neutered male Brittany, with a tender heart that’s still learning how wonderful the world can be. You see, I lost my owner, had to face a whole new world without my owner, and while I may seem a little scared and unsure at first, all I really want is to feel safe and loved. I’m what they call a diamond in the rough—a shy boy with a heart full of love just waiting to shine. It might take me a little time to trust, but once I do, I’ll be your most loyal shadow, quietly soaking up all the love and cuddles you can offer. I just need someone patient and kind, who understands that building trust is the greatest gift you can give a soul like mine. I may not be the first to greet you at the door or jump into your lap—but give me time, love, and a little space, and I’ll be the sweetest companion you could ever ask for. Together, we can take this journey at my pace, and I promise, once I trust you, I’ll give you all the love in my heart. I’m crate trained, neutered, up-to-date on my vaccines, heartworm & tick negative, and as healthy as can be. I’d love a calm home, maybe with another gentle doggy friend who can show me the ropes, and a physical fenced in yard where I can feel free and safe enough to stretch my legs and enjoy the sunshine. I am living in my foster trainer’s house; she has shown me so much.  She has been kind and patient.  I have learned that I can be loved, scratched, give some cuddles, and have some fun. I have learned going in and out of doors is ok, it is safe to come out of the crate.  I love to run and play in the yard. I love my treats.  My trainer has taught me paw, and she does lots of training games.  The best part is all the treats I get.  When she is done, I look at her and say, “Let’s do more!!!” Foster Trainer:  He is a sweet boy, but he will need a gentle and patient person. Loving and kind.  Zeke makes me giggle when I scratch his rump, and he does the rump scratch dance.  He has come such a long way in just a short time. The adoption fee for OK/Zeke Zek, who lives in Tulsa, OK  is $350,  which helps to offset our vetting and allows NBRAN to rescue more of these wonderful family members.  If you are interested in making OK/Zeke Zek part of your family, please complete the online application by visiting www.nbran.org . A phone interview, home visit, and vet check will be required as part of the approval process by your state coordinator, before talking to the foster of Zeke Zek.  Transportation can be arranged up 1400 miles with the adopter being responsible for at least the last 100 miles.    April 22, 2025, 5:04 pm

Story
This is a really difficult post to make, but I’m looking for a loving new home for Colt, my 7-year-old Brittany. I’m relocating and can only bring two dogs, and this decision breaks my heart. I’ve had Colt since he was 9 months old and he’s truly a sweet, smart, and loyal dog. He’s about 32 pounds, crate and e-collar trained, great with kids, and has always lived with other dogs and cats. He would likely enjoy a dog buddy in his new home. Colt is healthy, up to date on vaccinations, and though not formally trained for hunting, he loves to explore and would thrive with outdoor time. He may not be ideal for homes with free-range chickens. Colt would make a wonderful companion for an active person or family with space to roam. I’m willing to travel to find the right home. Please message me or apply if you’re interested.

Story
I met Ranger in a target parking lot in Murfreesboro, TN. I adopted him and I was very happy with him, he is a very smart and good dog. However I found out ive very allergic to his hair and my work schedule isnt giving this puppy the proper attention he needs, I want to give him to a family that has land and room for him to play and run around! He is very loving and loves to play with his cow chew toy, mr. Moo. I love him to death but I need him to have a better life than what I can give him and especially room to grow!

Meet Charley – A Burst of Joy Waiting for a Home! Bonjour! I’m Charley, a 3½-year-old, 34 lb black and white French Brittany with a heart full of love and a nub that never stops wagging! I’ve been waiting patiently in boarding, dreaming of soft beds, belly rubs, and the simple joy of finally belonging to someone. I’m a healthy, happy boy—neutered, up-to-date on all my vaccines, heartworm and tick negative, and on prevention. But what I don’t have yet is a foster home… and that’s where you come in. Would you be interested in being my foster family to begin my journey to find my forever home? Let’s get this out of the way – yes, I’ve been called a “bull in a China shop,” but I promise I’m not trying to wreck the place! I just have tons of energy, love being with people, and sometimes I get so excited about snacks and cuddles that I forget my manners (but hey, I’m learning!). &#226&#156&#168 Why you’ll love me: I’m full of Brittany energy and joy I love snacks, attention, and being around people I’m a total cuddle bug (once I burn off some zoomies!) I just need someone to help me with a few manners (I get a little too excited about treats!) A kind photographer said, “Charley is beautiful and SO happy to be with people. He just needs a little help learning to take treats gently and would thrive in a home where he’s loved and guided.” I do need: A 6-foot physical fence to keep my speedy paws safe A calm, patient foster who sees my potential A home without small children while I work on my excitement Lots of love, consistency, and belly rubs &#239&#184&#143 NBRAN covers all my vetting—you just provide the love, structure, and soft place to land. Fostering truly saves lives… and mine is waiting to begin with you. If your heart is saying “Oui, Oui Charley!” I’m in Tulsa, OK, but transport can be arranged up to 1,400 miles (you just cover the last 100). Are you the one who will help me go from boarding to belonging? Fill out a foster application at www.nbran.org and let’s start this beautiful journey together.April 10, 2025, 11:29 am
