If you want: -a playmate for your energetic dog -a dog who is crate trained -a dog that is fine if you don't want to go on walks -a dog who likes toys and balls -a dog who is housetrained -a dog who is gentle and doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body Then Matt is your guy! Matt had a rough start but he is thriving and ready for his home. Because he was likely not allowed as a puppy to leave his home/small yard, he is a bit nervous about being touched by new people but he does love it from his friends. When he's scared he will get close to his person for safety. He's not the kind of dog that can just get in the car and go to restaurants because he is a little too nervous (understandably!) but he loves to play and run with other dogs, loves balls and toys and he has been super easy to potty train and crate train. He is medium to low energy, mostly just wanting to hang out near his human and dog friend or in his crate. His coat is soft like rabbit fur. He's full grown at about 34 lbs and we think he is border collie/Brittany mix because of his coloring, big eyes and thin face but hard to say because he is such an interesting mix!

Story
Jasper is a sweet 12-year-old Terrier mix weighing around 59 pounds, and he is searching for a forever home where he can spend his golden years surrounded by the love and care he deserves. Jasper came to the rescue from the Bell County Animal Shelter after being surrendered by his owner. His owner’s wife had passed away, and he eventually had to move into a nursing home where he could no longer care for Jasper. This was not because Jasper wasn’t loved. His family found themselves in a heartbreaking situation and wanted to make sure he was safe. Now, Jasper is being cared for while he waits for the forever family he so deserves. Jasper is a happy, sweet-natured boy who loves going outside and is house-trained. He does well with other dogs, and we are still learning more about his personality as he settles in. At 59 pounds, Jasper could stand to lose a little weight, but with healthy meals, gentle walks, and a family to keep him moving, he will be on the right track. What we already know is that Jasper has a truly sweet spirit and so much love left to give. At 12 years old, he should not have to wonder what happened to his family or where he belongs. He deserves a soft place to land, a comfortable bed, someone to take him outside, and a family who will remind him every day that he is still deeply loved. Jasper may be a senior, but his heart is full of hope. He is ready to give his love to someone who will cherish him for the rest of his life.
