Story
Meet Axel, a 7 1/2 year old purebred orange & white male brittany.  Axel loves other dogs & kids, but definitely no cats. He has a high prey drive and needs a steady job.  He would love the opportunity to hunt.  He is not gun shy and has excellent recall.   He must have a home with a lot of land. A working farm would be perfect for him.  He needs a lot of daily exercise and to be kept busy.  Axel is an escape artist and requires a privacy fence of at least 6' high.  He is an expert at escaping and considers it a great game.  Since he does have great recall, he comes back once called. However, he must be supervised when he's outside. This is why a lot of land, and away from roads, is important.  Axel is well socialized and will do anything you ask of him. He is very sweet, but driven and needs an outlet for his energy. He loves to be outside and is very goofy.  Like most bird dogs, he is not great on a leash, but does excellent on a long lead.  He is crate trained and should be crated when left alone.  He tends to get into mischief, especially if not highly exercised. Axel is neutered, heartworm negative, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. He is located in northwestern GA and is available for transport up to 1400 miles, with the adopter driving the last 100 miles to pick him up.  His adoption fee is $350.  If you are interested in adopting Axel, please submit an adoption application at www.nbran.org and mention his name. Story
Hi, my name is Roan. I'm a 5-year-old male Roan Brittany with mixed colors of brown, and white. I am creative, crate trained and house-trained. Despite my age, I am mature beyond my years. While very friendly, I am not very active and would prefer to hang out in the house or on the sofa. Although I'm only five 5 years old, my foster mom calls me an old soul. She seems to have this fantasy that I would enjoy hanging out on the sofa watching reruns of Lawrence Welk. She also seems to have this idea that I would like past TV episodes of Rin Tin Tin.  With my first family, I lived with my sister. She was a bully, and I put up with her behavior for years. When we were surrendered to a foster home, through no fault of our own, I decided that I was not going to put up with her giving me such a hard time. I defended myself and she got the message that she had gone too far. Thankfully, I was separated from my sister. Today I prefer to be alone and would do well as only one dog.  I am easy going and like to stop and smell the flowers. I enjoy meeting new people especially women. They think I'm handsome. Sometimes, I like to picture myself as a gentleman, opening doors for pretty human ladies or presenting them with bouquets of colorful flowers. I do not run around and play on my own. To avoid weight gain I will need to be exercised. Dog parks and daycare are not possible for me. I really don't know how well I would get along with cats. I do well walking on a leash, although I still pull a bit. However, with training and persistence, I will easily overcome this. I don't have any bad habits and I'm not picky about food. I'm up to date on all my vaccines as well as being heartworm- negative and micro-chipped.  My foster mom will tell you that I have a calm and well-mannered disposition, all of which is true. I'm looking forward to living in a home surrounded by love.   Please contact the TN coordinators below for more information on Roan.
