Story
Please contact Suzanne (ztasuzanne@gmail.com) for more information about this pet. Sweet Little Sprout AKA Sproutie is up for adoption. Sprout is a 26 lb. female Brittany/Beagle Mix. She is housetrained, crate trained, up to date on all her vaccines, spayed and on heartworm preventative. Sprout has a special physical characteristic that makes her extra adorable! Because of a past broken tail, Sprout has a hook at the end of her cute little tail. NBRAN was contacted by a kind lady who had found Sprout dumped at a local dog park. Sprout was one lucky little girl because the kind lady that found her, although she could not keep her indefinitely, did take extra special care of her and took her to a veterinarian to be checked out and vaccinated.  Unfortunately, Sproutie tested positive for heartworms. Precious Sprout has now completed her heartworm treatments and is ready to find her furever home. She walks well on a leash and gets along with other dogs. She would not do well in a home with a cat. The adoption fee for Spout, being fostered in Memphis, TN, is $325, which helps to offset vet bills and allows NBRAN to rescue more sweet furbabies like Sprout. If you are looking for a sweet, smart, loyal addition to your family, Sprout is your gal! To adopt Sprout complete an adoption application at the following link https://www.nbran.org/adopt/adoption-application. Reach out to Suzanne Horsley, ztasuzanne@gmail.com or Deb Tuthill debbietuthill@ebs-consulting.com. NBRAN can arrange for transportation up to 1400 miles with the adopter being responsible for at least the last 100 miles. April 28, 2024, 12:10 pm

Story
Buddy is a sweet, but very shy liver and white 3 1/2 year old brittany. It takes a while for him to warm up to someone, but once he does, he is kind and affectionate. The best home for Buddy would be a patient home that has experience with bringing a shy, tramatized dog out of his shell.  Buddy is submissive and just needs a lot of love and reassurance.  His confidence has grown in the last few months, but he still has a way to go. Having a safe place is important. He likes to sleep in his crate with the door open, and is getting used to being in a closed crate when his people are away. Buddy is learning to play and play is an essential part of his ongoing training. He also requires a lot of exercise to build his physical and emotional state, so a yard is necessary for Buddy. He loves to be outside and a kiddie pool is his favorite in summer.  An older, calmer dog would be best, if there is another dog in the home. Buddy doesn't choose to interact until he feels entirely comfortable.  Buddy is very low energy. His requirements are small, a safe place, patience, play, and exercise. With these, he will continue to improve and soon become a normally adjusted dog and a wonderful addition to a family.  Please consider adopting Buddy. He's healthy, neutered, up to date on vaccinations and preventatives and microchipped. He weighs 32 pounds and is located in NW Georgia. Buddy can be transported up to 1400 miles to his new home, with the adopter driving the last 100 miles. His adoption fee is $400. Please submit an adoption application at www.nbran.org and mention his name if you are interested in adopting him.  For any questions, please email Karen Carr at kecarr72@icloud.com or Jessica Stevenson at  jessica@thesouthernway.com April 28, 2024, 12:10 pm

Story
Ginger is her name, charming is her game.Ginger greets the world with a sweet toothy grin, made irresistibly unique by the few teeth missing. But those teeth don’t stop her from smiling, and neither do her ears, Ginger wears her half ear proudly, an adorable quirk that adds to her delightful charm. And as if she wasn't charming enough, this goofy girl has been known to tumble off the couch amidst her blanket shenanigans, proving that grace is overrated when you're having fun. She's the ideal home office mate — laid-back, happy with her peaceful snoozes, and always providing a good dose of entertainment. She’s sweet, silly, calm, yet full of personality. She's also a self-proclaimed food critic. She enjoys a good meal, a bit of a food snob, she loves her kong. She quite passionate about walks outside too, she lets you knows about that by dancing on her paws in excitement. All jokes aside, she’s a wonderful girl, one that loves deep, is loyal to her pack, and eager to be by your side, provided she feels you will reciprocate that warmth and safety. She’s becoming a confident dog in her foster home, she will love a home that can provide the love and comfort of being patient. New things are scary at first but ultimately she is so eager to please and thanks to her food motivation making great strides! She's doing wonderfully with crate training and house training too! Adoption Process If you are ready to meet the pet, please fill out an online adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your internet browser: https://www.petstablished.com/adoption_form/10666/generic Once your application is submitted, we will contact the vet reference provided. If you do not yet have a vet, please provide three personal references – these could be family and friends who can attest to your pet parenting skills. A volunteer will schedule a phone interview with you. The interview and application help our fosters find their forever home by ensuring a good match.   The Louisa Humane Society does not have a brick and mortar facility, so all of our pets are in foster care. Once approved, the foster parent will reach out to arrange a visit. The foster family can tell you all about her likes, dislikes, and little quirks.  The application and visit do not oblige you to adopt, but if you’re ready to take the pet home as your furry forever friend, the adoption fee is $150. ##1912018##

Story
Introducing Sadie!  Sadie is a cuddle bug that is 9 years old.  She's a beautiful liver and white female brittany, weighing about 37 pounds. Sadie loves the freedom to run without a leash and run the fence perimeter.  She would love to chase rabbits and squirrels.  She walks fairly well on a lead or harness, but is still a big puller.   A physical fenced yard is a must for her, as she needs space to run.   She is very loyal and watches over her person.  She loves chew toys.  She is ok with other dogs as long as they don’t rush to her face.  Sadie would do best as an only dog Sadie is housebroken and low maintenance. She prefers to stay home, with a comfy dog bed. She likes to be petted and have space to run off her energy.  Sadie is heartworm negative, spayed and microchipped.  She doesn't mind getting bathed or towel dried. If  you are looking for a great family pet that likes to travel in the car, golf cart  or patrol the perimeter of the fenced yard / property she is your girl.  She will keep the bunnies and squirrels from eating your flowers and shrubs on your fenced property.  She will need a four-to-five-foot fence.  Sadie loves being outside with her people but enjoys the comfort of dog beds and bed pillows to grab a nap in between bird watching out the window and running outside. Please consider opening your heart and home to Sadie!  Sadie's adoption fee is $350.  Please complete an adoption application at www.nbran.org and specify her name.  She is currently located in northwestern Georgia  and is available to be transported up to 1400 miles, with the adopter driving the last 100 miles approximately.   If you are interested in giving Sadie her forever home, please reach out to LeslieTrenta@leslie@leslietrentadesigns.com     April 28, 2024, 12:10 pm

Story
Penny is a 19 month old Brittany/Hound mix. She is UTD on vaccines, microchipped, Heartworm negative and on preventative.  She minds her foster mom really well and has great recall. Penny knows the command sit and is working on stay. She is not very vocal and does not bark much. She loves running in the yard and is good with other dogs. Penny loves her toys and she also loves treats. Penny is a very healthy girl. Penny's foster mom says she is not destructive and loves to lounge in her dog bed. Because she gets overly excited, Penny jumps on people, but her foster mom is working with her.  Because of her jumping, Penny will not be a good fit for a home with small children.  Penny is being fostered in Tennessee. Her adoption fee is $325.00 and can be transported up to 1400 miles via our Canine Railroad with the adopter taking the last leg, usually less than 100 miles.  Applications for Penny can be found on www.nbran.org.  For more information, email dltuthill@epbfi.com or ztasuzanne@gmail.com.  April 28, 2024, 12:10 pm
