Story
NEED ADOPTOR OR FOSTER ASAP. When Baby was a puppy, she was trapped in a house fire in Gadsden, Alabama. Two people died in that fire. A Gadsden firefighter found her, pulled her out, and took her to Central Valley Veterinary in Gadsden. She survived. She still has scars on her back. She still has nightmares about it sometimes. The man who took her home from the vet at 14 weeks old is named Danny. She has slept in his bed every night since. Now Danny's living situation is changing. He has about a month to find Baby a home. He is asking for help so she does not have to start over from scratch. Here is what Danny wants you to know about Baby. She is almost three years old. She is house-trained, spayed, heartworm negative, registered with Alabama Bullies. She walks on a leash. She lives indoors and only goes outside to potty. She gets along with all dogs, big and small. She loves women. She loves everybody. She is also high strung. She barks. She is scared of fire, of candles, of storms, of fireworks, of loud noises. She will sit in front of a fireplace when it is cold, but only if her dog brother is next to her. There is one hard truth you have to know about Baby before you apply. She will kill a cat. She is also death on rats, mice, squirrels, and rabbits. If you have a cat, do not apply. Save her the heartbreak of being returned. If you do not have a cat, Baby is the kind of dog who will love you with her whole self for the rest of her life. She acts tough but she is scared of her own shadow. Danny wakes her up when she cries in her sleep. He wants someone to keep doing that for her. All of our adoptions are spay/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and microchipped. Animal-Angels Foundation is a Best Friends Network Partner, which connects us to the largest lifesaving network in the country. Our adoptable pets are also published to Adopt-a-Pet.com, the largest non-profit pet adoption website in North America. Through our Petco Love partnership, every adopter receives a 20 percent off coupon for Petco supplies on the day they take their new pet home. Story
Bianca (A567063) arrived as a stray and to our surprise has not been reclaimed. This sweet Bull Terrier is putting on a very tough act behind her kennel door. She barks, she postures and she tries her best to look intimidating, but the truth is that she is overwhelmed. The shelter is loud and she is meeting strangers nonstop. For a dog like Bianca, this is confusing and stressful. Once she is taken outside on a leash and shown she can trust you, she turns into a completely different dog. The transformation is almost immediate. Bianca warms up fast when handled gently. She enjoys being pet and appreciates calm interactions. She does need help learning how to walk confidently on a leash and will require a home ready to offer some basic training and encouragement. When we tested her with a calm senior dog slightly larger than her, she did great. She did not want to play and preferred to simply coexist in the yard. She gave appropriate corrections and kept things easy. With her relaxed temperament, we think she would do well with a chill male dog who matches her energy.Because Bianca is a bull terrier, we do ask that anyone interested takes the time to research the breed. They are phenomenal dogs but they do best with structure, understanding and someone ready to take the lead. Bianca needs a home that can guide her, help her decompress and show her that life is not something she needs to fear. She is a good girl who just needs someone patient enough to see past the kennel act. Bianca is estimated to be around 6 years old and weighs 47 pounds. All animals adopted from Huntsville Animal Services are microchipped, appropriately vaccinated, spayed/neutered and given a 30 day flea/tick preventative.Ready to meet Bianca? Stop by 4950 Triana Blvd SW in Huntsville, Alabama. No appointment is necessary to meet our available animals. All adopters must be 19 years or older and be able to provide a valid ID.

Story
🐾 Meet Gracie 🐾 Don't let the word "senior" fool you—Gracie still has plenty of life, love, and tail wags left to share! This sweet girl is the total package: she's housebroken, has wonderful manners, and is ready to settle into a home where she can finally relax and be part of a family. Gracie has a gentle, loving personality and enjoys spending time with her people. She's past the puppy stage and doesn't need constant supervision or training, making her an easy companion for someone looking for a loyal best friend. She does well with other dogs who respect her space and have good manners. Gracie would be happiest with canine companions who aren't overly pushy or aggressive and who appreciate a calm, peaceful friendship. Senior dogs are often overlooked, but they have so much to offer. Gracie is proof that age is just a number. She still has plenty of love to give and is hoping someone will see how special she truly is. Could you be the one to give Gracie the loving home she deserves for her golden years?
