Story
Hiya!! My name is Lucho and here's more info about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Mixed Bull Terrier Age: 3 years approx. Gender: Male Weight: 26 lbs (12 kg)   Length (nose to butt): 54cm Height (paws to top of head): 50cm Current Location: Guadalajara, Mexico RESCUE STORY - When my rescuer found me, I has tied up with a steel cable aroiund my neck. This left a very big gash on my neck and the vet took care of me for two whole months to help it heal! It was very painful and infected so I was so happy when I was found and taken out of that scary home. Even though I was in pain I was never aggressive. At first I was afraid of men when they were behind him. Once I was better and could leave the vet, I did a really good job with positive training for 6 months. I get scared and restless if a hooman creeps up behind me when I don't see them. I act like this because I used to have to protect myself before I was rescued. I hope to learn that my new family will keep me safe and I won't feel threatened anymore. TEMPERAMENT - I can be a little fearful at first, but I'm quite affectionate once I sniff you out! I reeeeally like prizes, affection and going on walks. Woof!  I don't like to share my food or toys with other dogs. I don't think I ever had good food before or fun toys so when I was given these wonderful things, I like to have them all to myself.  ENERGY LEVEL - I'm an active pupper who loves to run and play! GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Yup! Here is a video of me meeting some children. same with ALL dogs, I should be supervised around children. My humans need to advocate for my space and make sure I'm respected :)  Dogs – I get along with all the doggies at the shelter and even tolerates small dogs.  Cats – Unknown PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around cats/squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – I love walking and I'm good on a leash.  House trained – Yes, I like to go potty on my walks or use a puppy pad if I reeeeeally need to go.  Crate trained – Yes. Car rides – This is still a bit tricky for me. I get kinda anxious in a car where I jump around at first but if I have a seat belt on I am calm.  Please Note: WCP Dog Rescue partners with Unleashed Dog Training (Hannah Swain, Balanced Dog Trainer) to offer adopters 50% off one training session (not including tax and applicable gas surcharges). Any subsequent sessions will be offered at standard rates. WCP also highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives. HEALTH NOTES: I am neutered and I have received all my shots  NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD + applicable taxes, which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and it's adoption process.
