This boy has the chillest vibes, its giving unbothered and cool-guy. Within seconds of meeting him he was making my day. He was giving me paw and shaking my hand at our first introduction! Safe to say Toby is a gentleman! For the rest of our time together, Toby was literally my shadow, making me feel super important and chosen. With those soulful eyes, he is always letting you know he is just so happy to be rescued. We love a confident, mature boy! He weighs 52 lbs and is possibly a bull terrier/ pittie mix. Of course because he is a rescue we cannot guarantee breed or age but I will say this, I have a bull terrier and it absolutely checks from experience, but again- not science. Toby was introduced to a variety of dogs and although he is polite greeting on leash and all around easy-going company, we saw who he gravitated to and had a spark with. This is always nice for us to observe because if you are here looking for a dog to add to your pack or matchmaking a +1 for your current dog, you likely know what their “type”is too. So Toby’s easy, natural connection was an older female, 4-5 years old, with a very similar energy to his, easy-going, friendly but not pushy, with a quiet confidence. Although Toby would be good company, he is also the kind of dog that does not need a +1 as long as he has his people. He is pretty ideal for a family or individual looking to skip over the energetic dog days of the young years of a dog and get right to the good part- calm companionship and lots of quiet naps near by. That is going to be Toby! Plus, he is great with kids! He is fostered in a home with two kids age 3 and 8 who love snuggling up next to him and wandering around the yard together. His foster shared he is both house and crate trained and rides great in the truck! Personally, Toby went right for my heart but he is definitely my personal fave type of dog- no looks involved- vibes only. This is a dog that gives a familiar presence straight away, in a way that makes it feel like he has always been yours. When you head out on walks, no one will ever wonder how long you have had him either. He has great leash skills and keeps an easy pace, giving off “we’ve known each other forever.” Toby was introduced to our house cat during his visit and was interested but moved on quickly. Typically this would indicate a dog being cat-tolerant but in Toby’s case we are willing to test him again as we recognized in the moment, he was tired from a walk and the heat that day, factors that can give us a misleading observation. A dog doesn’t just get the name Fabio for no reason. The name alone gives you a clear image of a striking specimen and the day I met him, I was not disappointed. He is the epitome of why we say rescue is our favorite breed because this boy is unique and interesting in the way only a mixed-up rescue dog could be. A brown-eye, a blue-eye, the looks of a shepherd/husky and the face of a bull terrier. Stunning! Fabio is so fortunate and is being dedicated in a loving foster home where he has really displayed what a keeper he is. From his house manners to his dog-friendly personality, he just fit right in. His foster shared that he slipped right into the routine of things around her house and was fast friends with all the dogs. Not only is Fabio house-trained but he is also crate-trained, has great basic leash skills, and a growing number of basic commands. His foster family frequently takes him out and about for errands or local events and they shared that he has consistently been great easy-company! Fabios foster home includes 6 dogs, a few cats, along with an occasional “guest” who is just passing through. This has really highlighted how dog-friendly Fabio is. Although Fabio is a large dog with a love for physical play, he can read other dogs well and does not push if a dog is not interested. He also has an understanding of his size versus smaller dog friends. Fabio would love a home with an equal sized, playful, female companion but can live peacefully with small dogs. When we introduced Fabio to our house cat he was respectfully cautious and his foster shared he co-exists peacefully with their cats. Fabio could live in a home with dog-savvy cats who feel comfortable around dogs but do not need a playmate in the dog. Fabio is estimated to be about 4 years old and he weighs 60 lbs. Breed and age are details we cannot guarantee given he is a rescue but his personality and presence do fit a dog who has left his puppy days behind. He loves to play but also knows how to take a break, whether that is outside with doggie friends or while out and about at an event- we love that quality! He currently weighs 44 lbs and we expect he will settle in just shy of 50 lbs. His charming personality gives us so many classic bulldog qualities, from his easy-going, unbothered nature to his approach to urgency- there is none. Cedric isn’t pushy about meeting passers by but he is albsolutely welcoming when they want to stop and say hi to him. We love the balance of “never met a stranger” but not overwhelmingly out-going. Basically, he plays it cool. An ideal home for Cedric would be one where his chill nature is embraced! Dogs are welcome but he could easily and happily be an only-dog. Anytime he has been introduced to new dogs or invited into the yard to play, he is polite and aloof. More of a companion than a playmate. Despite that we do think he would be best in a home with a yard, he really enjoys sauntering around the yard and its pretty cute to watch. Mabel is a certified people-dog who has mastered the art of chill! She leans in for affection, rolls over for belly rubs, loves being loved on, and is happiest just being near her people. With that said we estimate her to be 3 years old, she weighs 49 lbs and is likely an English Bulldog/American Bully mix. Thanks to Mabel’s foster we can share that she is a dream guest- fully house and crate trained, quiet, and an all-star sleeper day or night. Dog-wise, Mabel is more of a “coexist” than “let’s play” kind of girl. She was relaxed and unbothered during off-leash time with other dogs, not reactive at all even when other dogs were being too much, she was perfectly happy just doing her own thing. She showed a little interest in playing with an 8-month-old puppy, but when he lost interest, so did she. She’s best matched with a low to medium energy dog who won’t push her to engage or crowd her space. Mabel will need a cat-free home. When she met our home cat it was easy to see an uninvited game of chase cross her mind. That would be chaos for everyone involved. Apartment life? Yes, please. Mabel doesn’t need a ton of exercise—just short walks and time to chill inside with her humans. She walks beautifully on leash—right by your side, no pulling, no drama—and she makes a stroll feel like therapy- she just keeps her sessions short. **Now fostered in Kenmore, WA** Some superheroes come in small, wiggly, cuddly packages! This gallant little champ is Captain Underbite. His mission? To save the world through joy, laughter, and zoomies. He's already doing an excellent job spreading hope and giggles, delighting his foster folks and everyone he meets. He might be a mix of boxer, labrador, and pittie, and something smaller... but we're just guessing! Based on his size and age, we also guess he probably will grow to be under 40 lbs, the most wonderful size! One thing we do know for sure is that he is the sweetest and most affectionate little snuggle buddy you could wish for. Captain is absolutely crazy about people. Everyone is his best friend and deserves his delicate little kisses and snuffles. His wagging tail and wiggling butt are almost as adorable as his wonky smile and his big, floppy ears. End to end, this boy is all about the cute! Photos don't quite do Captain justice; you have to see this hero in action to appreciate just how goofy and adoring he is. When he's excited, he darts around like a ping pong ball, changing direction and flying recklessly through the grass. He picks up toys in those silly jaws of his and shakes them with such ferocity that he sometimes falls over! And when he's finished with his short bursts of energy, he is the most tender-hearted little cuddler. He wants to be near you, preferably leaning against you, giving and receiving love. Captain's love is not limited to humans. He's thrilled to play with, or just hang out with, other dogs. He's brave enough to play with his 45- and 60-lb foster brothers. Captain loves to be chased. If other dogs ignore him, he finds toys to show off and tries to tempt his canine companions into a game of tug or keep-away. This clown also likes to play like a kitten! A toy dangling at the end of a stick or a string is a fabulous plaything for him! He chases it in circles with determination and zeal. And, of course, Captain also loves squeaky toys and crinkle toys — any toy will do, and a bone to chew keeps him busy and happy. Captain spends most of his time sleeping, of course, like most young puppies do. He loves to sleep flopped on his person or snuggled against them. He also loves his fuzzy donut bed. At night, Captain sleeps 8 hours straight in his crate in a room with his foster family. Some nights he complains for about one minute that he doesn't want to go to sleep yet… and then zzzzzzzzzz, he conks out. Captain is proud to tell you that he's potty trained now. He LOVES praise, so he quickly learned to potty on command. He understands that outside is the right place for his business, and with frequent outings during the day he's a reliable house pal. Eager to please, he stops a behavior when he understands you don't like it. He's also very food motivated — he loves meal time so much that he spins in circles from the excitement! This food motivation has made him easy to train so far. Though he's just getting started in his new Pacific Northwest foster home, he already knows to run into his kennel at feeding time (with the "kennel up" command) after a few celebratory pirouettes. He's looking forward to learning tricks for treats! Captain Underbite's greatest superpower is loving! He really wants to be someone's baby.
