Story
Shelby joined our family as a pup after getting lost from her pack despite efforts to find her owner. We’ve enjoyed having her and hoped to be her fur-ever home, unfortunately our circumstances have changed. Shelby is 6y/o and full of love. She is happiest with people who’ll give her affection and treats. She’s obedient with a rambunctious streak. She enjoys naps, chew toys and tug-a-war. Cold weather is her least favorite but short walks are Shelby approved! While appearing intimidating, she is very gentle. Shelby likes zoomies around the house but is most comfortable sleeping in her cozy kennel. We trained her not to run outside of our un-fenced yard or chase the geese. She likes watching nature around the fire pit but is not the best fetch dog! LOL We seek a permanent, loving home where she can stay active. Shelby would make a great companion dog for anyone who is mobile. She is observant but not very vocal. We’d love updates and photos after adoption but it’s not mandatory.

Story
Caboose (AKA: Boose, Boose the Goose, Boosterpants, Booster the Rooster) is a resilient and quirky 4-year-old English Bull Terrier who has been on a journey from hardship to healing. Boose was rescued from a neglectful breeder where he spent his early life chained outside in isolation or confined to a crate in a barn. But in just six months, he's blossomed in ways that show his true heart.   Caboose has discovered the joy of affection and now gives the sweetest kisses. He's learned that the couch is not only allowed—it's awesome. And his biggest discovery? The Chuck-It ball. It’s his absolute obsession! He'll play fetch as long as you're willing and will gently place the ball at your feet when he's ready for another round.   Physically, Caboose continues to heal beautifully. His once-damaged muzzle is sprouting soft new fur, and the pressure sores and urine burns from his past life are almost gone. Emotionally, he’s come a long way too. While he can still be startled by new things, he gains confidence every day and is beginning to trust in the safety of home life.   He’s improving steadily with potty training and will potty on command outside—a big step forward! While he still has occasional accidents, he's learning and wears a belly band inside just in case. Caboose is good on a leash and loves walks that let him explore the world at his own pace.   Like most Bull Terriers, Caboose is full of personality and energy. Expect playful nibbles, silly “bucking bronco” antics, and moments of pure goofiness. Because of his size and exuberant play style, he’s best suited for a home without small children. He  also needs to be the only dog in the home.  While he is not dog reactive when walking on leash, he has not yet learned how to enjoy the company of other dogs.     Caboose is looking for a patient, understanding person who will continue to help him build trust and confidence. In return, he’ll offer you loyalty, laughter, and love in spades. If you're ready to welcome a one-of-a-kind pup with a heart full of potential, Caboose is ready to start his next chapter—with you. If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Caboose’s adoption fee is $275.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
