Please note: After completing the initial phone screening, you’ll be connected with the foster for a video chat meet and greet. Transports run every few weeks, and approved dogs will be placed on the next available transport. If you’re not ready to adopt until a later date, please wait to apply until that time. We are a volunteer-run rescue, and our team donates time and effort to helping these dogs. If you are not fully committed to moving forward in the adoption process, we kindly ask that you do not apply. If others are involved in the decision-making process, please make sure you’ve discussed the adoption with them and that everyone is on board. We want to ensure we’re using everyone’s time wisely and focusing on finding the right homes for our dogs. Link to adoption application: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/PRP/Dog ___ Feye is a 1-year-old, 40 lb Bull Terrier mix with a heart as big as her personality. This spunky, affectionate girl was saved from the euthanasia list in San Antonio and hasn’t stopped showing gratitude since. She’s playful, social, and loving — the perfect blend of enthusiasm and sweetness, just waiting for a family to call her own. Feye is being fostered in Austin, Texas. Transport out of state can be arranged by the rescue for approved adopters. Our process starts with an application. If we think you might be a good fit, we’ll reach out to coordinate a phone interview, followed by a video call with her foster home. A virtual home visit, plus personal and vet reference checks, are required to complete the process. Transport is included in our adoption donation. Feye still has a playful puppy side and loves exploring the world around her. She’s doing a fantastic job learning how to socialize and read other dogs’ cues. She’s the kind of dog who can play for hours when the opportunity presents itself but can also settle right down for a nap beside you — a perfect mix of fun and calm. She loves other dogs and would thrive in a home with a playful, well-balanced canine companion who’s comfortable sharing their space and can help her continue socializing. Feye adapts beautifully to the energy of those around her — if everyone’s calm, she’s calm; if it’s playtime, she’s ready to roll! Feye absolutely adores people and greets everyone with a toy in her mouth — she’ll grab one before she even says hello. She’s also a lap-climber who loves to be close, so expect plenty of snuggles and constant companionship. When meeting new people or entering new environments, she can be a little nervous at first. Feye just needs a bit of time to acclimate and decompress, but once she opens up, her love and loyalty know no bounds. She’ll attach to her person quickly and loves nothing more than being part of your day. She walks well on a leash, though she still weaves a bit as she explores. She’s very good at knowing which items are “her toys” versus what’s off-limits. Mealtime is one of her favorite parts of the day, and she uses a slow feeder bowl to help her pace herself. At night, Feye is quiet and content in her crate — though she’s clever and has figured out how to open it if left alone, so her foster uses a carabiner clip as an extra latch. She’s perfectly happy in her crate when she knows you’re nearby and simply wants to be close to her people. She’s also full of adorable quirks — like her signature high-pitched yawn sound when she’s excited, her joyful little hop-jump run that makes her look like a deer, and her habit of climbing onto furniture as she explores new places. Feye would do best in a loving, patient home that understands she’s still young, still learning, and needs time to adjust. She’ll reward that patience tenfold with affection, playfulness, and endless loyalty. If you’re looking for a snuggly, fun-loving companion who will stick by your side through thick and thin, Feye is your girl. ___ Breed and Age Notice: The listed breed and age are our best estimates. In most cases, we do not know a dog’s exact age or full breed mix, as information is often limited. Ready to apply? Complete an adoption application using the link below!
