Suns out, tongues out!Bridget is a social butterfly who is looking for an active companion who will take her for runs and other outdoor excursions.Large, active dogs and older children make perfect playmates! Because of her energy, Bridget will do best in a home without small dogs or young children.Bridget has some exposure to calm cats and has thus far been uninterested. Bridget excels at playing fetch and loves chasing her toys!Bridget loves car rides, is house-trained, & behaves perfectly in her crate. The vast majority of our dogs come to us as unclaimed strayed or abandoned dogs, so we can only guess on breed based on appearance and temperament. We believe Bridget is a mix of Border Collie, & bull terrier. She has a small, muscular build, a furry coat.Apply to meet Bridget at ricopetrecovery.orgHer adoption fee is $250

Shelby is a sweet dog and goofy. That's the breed! Bull Terriers are a bit different. Shelby is 6 years old. Her brother who was 15 just recently died. He was in a lot of pain and the vet agreed to euthanize him She loves to play and cuddle. Our daughter (her owner) has just entered rehab for drug addiction and she needs to stay for a month. She is also looking at a 2 year program. She loves Shelby but needs to re-home her for these reasons.

Story
FOSTER OR ADOPT!! Kimber is a very sweet female cuddle bug that is a 4+ years old bull terrier mix that weighs 62 pounds. House trained, crate trained, and leash trained! If you want a true companion and a dog who is obedience trained, meet Kimber! Our girl is getting stressed by kennel life and is losing weight. We give her extra rations but the stress is not heathy for her. She needs to find a home, whether it is a foster home where she can relax and gain weight, or her forever home. Kimber is truly a WONDERFUL dog. A real companion who is loyal, obedient, loving, playful, and protective. Her ideal home is where a pet parent / foster would be working remotely without any pesky animals hogging her love and attention. She prefers a home with calm and quiet since small rambunctious children make her nervous. LOVE: When it comes to love, Kimber has no limit. Her favorite part of the day is when her people pet her or touch her. If she had her way, she would cuddle with her people all day! Kimber definitely likes to follow her special person around, even if its just to the next room. She loves to be with her people, always. Kimber happily goes into her kennel overnight and anytime she is askedTRAINING: Kimber spent approximately 9 months at the Marion prison where she was in the training program. Her handler taught her very well! Kimber knows the basic commands both verbally and with hand signals. She is pretty good with 'come', but she does better with a 'kiss kiss' sound. She is not a door dasher. When on leash, she does pull because the world is just so exciting! Kimber is very obedient in the kitchen. She is tall enough to reach the food on the counter, but she knows it isn't hers, so she doesn't touch it. OTHER DOGS AND CATS:. Kimber is OK with dogs socially as long as they keep their distance, but she wants to be the only dog in the home. Cats, well she thinks they are annoying and should not be in her home. Woof. KIDS: Kimber is uncomfortable when very young kids are playing rough or crawling around, so no babies, toddlers or young children. She would do fine with calm older children or an adult only house. If you're interested in meeting this loving girl, apply at www.caninecollective.org. She deserves a home!Note: Without a DNA test or direct information about the parents, the breed listed is based on our best guess or from the use of a breed identification app

Willow is a very cute, very smart little 40 lb Bull Terrier mix. We estimate she is around 15 months. We just had her complete a 10 day professional training program. She knows several commands, and has improved on leash behavior, and door manners. learning her name, sit, down, come, leave it, free, spin (to her left side), give her paw, door manners and has started on duration for implied stay on down and sit! Bonus: whoever adopts her gets a a free lesson to help with the transition AND will manage the initial meet and greet with the adopters and their existing pets!Willow is mostly potty trained and rings the bells when she needs to go outside. Willow LOVES to SNUGGLE. She still has a lot of puppy energy, but gets along great with other dogs, cats, and older kids. Her puppy energy may be too much for younger kids or older low key dogs but we're working on that. With a little time and consistency, there will be very little that this smart girl can't do.If you'd like to meet Willow, apply at www.caninecollective.org. If you have another dog in household bring them along to make sure their personalities are a good match. Dont forget, your meet and greet can be overseen by a professional dog trainer just to start off right.

Story
Hello my name is Casey and I am 4 years old. I was found along the highway, cold, starving ,wet and broken. The person who found me could not keep me. So she messaged my foster Mom. Who met her in freezing cold rain to get me. I am a very good boy and very smart. I have gained all my weight back and have all my shots and I am neutered. I love walks and to play with people. I am crate trained and know many commands. I love doing dog puzzles and anything involving food. I have no issues with you touching me or messing with my food bowls. I am so into my people I don't like to share them with other pets. So I need to be an only pet. I have never been around children so older children who can treat me with respect are preferred. I am with Buckeye Bull Terriers Rescue. If you feel you can give me a safe loving home, please contact my foster Mom at zephyr42@gmail.com. She will send you an application and answer any questions you have. We would like a family in Ohio or states that border Ohio. My adoption fee will be 400.00. Thank you for reading my post and I hope you will be that special person that I am looking for.

These pups are in Columbus, Ohio too!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Fill out an Adoption Application Is your shadow letting you down? Is it proving to be just a fair weather friend? Are you looking for a new shadow? Well look no further! Meet Miss Bea, aka Meatball. She will happily take the place of your shadow (even on those rainy, gloomy days). She’ll never let you down! Likes: Miss Bea loves food, her people and belly and rump rubs. Pretty much any attention you give Miss Bea, she eats right up. Dislikes: According to Miss Bea, all vacuum cleaners need to die. Otherwise, Miss Bea complains about nothing. She has yet to meet a stranger (well, maybe the vet is just a teensy bit suspicious). Personality: Miss Bea is all wiggles and kisses. Temperament: Happy, happy, happy! Miss Bea is fine with brushing, though she can be wiggly happy during her spa sessions. She is also fine with having her nails done. Energy level: Even with her confirmation issues, Miss Bea is one energetic young lady…if only all that energy could be harnessed, dogs like Miss Bea could very well be the answer to the energy crisis! Favorite activities: Being with her people; eating; sleeping; snoring; chewing safe bones; stuffed and squeaky toys will be met with a swift death. Good with cats, dogs, and kids (over 6)?: Miss Bea has a high prey drive and, therefore, would not do well with cats or other small, non-canine critters. She has not yet been tested around young children, however, due to her enthusiasm and mouthiness, she would probably do best with teenagers.  Miss Bea does quite well with other dogs both male and female, big and small. However, she can initially come on a bit strong (think freight train). She would do best in a home with another dog that can keep up with her exuberance. Not good with: (Cats? Dogs? Strangers? Men? Kids?) - Cats and other small critters (she thought the chickens would make for fun, chaseable, squeaky toys). Housetrained: Yes Crate trained: Yes. Bribe her with a piece of cheese and she will go right in and settle down quickly. Requires a fenced yard (physical fence and/or invisible fence)? Yes Walks well on a leash? Miss Bea pulls a little but listens well and is very eager to please. Challenges: Dyson vacuums have nothing on Miss Bea! She will need a slow feeder bowl (the slower the better). Miss Bea is working on her mouthiness; taking treats gently; sharing toys; leash manners and jumping up. Any Medical issues? Miss Bea will be having an ortho consult to address her confirmation issues (which don’t slow her down or seem to affect her running and playing). She is currently receiving a daily Cosequin pill to help her joints stay as healthy as possible.  What would be the best kind of home? One with another doggie friend that matches her energy to play and cuddle with. Though she does well in her crate, someone who works from home would be an added bonus as Miss Bea adores her people. Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy: Please know that 100% of our fees and donations pay for the costs of rescuing dogs. These include, but are not limited to: pull fees from shelters, veterinary examinations, vaccinations, medications and care, microchips, neuter/spay surgeries, heartworm treatments, behavior evaluations, and foster care, as needed. Story
Gypsy is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so she is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. Gypsy is a very good girl and is the most obedient dog I have ever seen. She knows how to sit and comes when called. She is housetrained and very well behaved in the house. She likes her crate and sleeps in it with the door open. She walks well on a leash and rides well in a vehicle. Gypsy loves her toys, especially squeaky ones, and she loves playing fetch. Gypsy is active - she loves to run and play with toys and other dogs. She loves water and lays in the wading pool when it is hot, and we bet she would love snow. She gets excited about squirrels, cats, and critters on the other side of the fence. Gypsy does well with all dogs but gets along best with male dogs. She is normally good around small dogs but occasionally mistakes one for a toy when she is over-excited. So she is not recommended for homes with small dogs. She is not too fond of puppies getting in her face either. Gypsy loves human attention and is good with children. She could perhaps use more obedience training with someone firm, patient, and loving. Gypsy is very sweet. She gets attached to her human and likes to lay under my desk when I work on the computer. Gypsy walks well on a leash and rides well in the car. She must be in the house as a loved family member, and she needs a yard with a 6' fence to run and play. Gypsy came from a bad home. She was not being fed and was severely underweight. So the people surrendered Gypsy and her puppies to animal control to avoid animal cruelty charges. Gypsys DNA test results are mostly Boxer, Husky, and German Shepherd. She bounces on her front legs when she is excited and we now know that comes from the Boxer in her. Gypsy is around 5 years of age and weighs 70 pounds (she only weighed 35 pounds when we got her). Gypsy is healthy. She is spayed, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. Gypsy had a light case of heartworms when we first got her. We used the slow-kill method (we are happy to explain this) and she is now negative for heartworms and on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Gypsy's adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport to Columbus, Cincinnati, or Akron Ohio. She is located in Texas and cannot be transported until after she is adopted. Story
BasilMaleAge: 10 yearsWeight: 49lbsBreed: English Bulldog/Beagle Mix Hey there, I’m Basil. I am a happy and loving guy who gets along with kids and I really don’t have much interest in cats, so a home with cats would be just fine. I am a little selective with the other dogs I meet. I prefer friendly dogs.  While I am inside, I do wear a belly band. I am house trained and don’t need to be crated when you leave for your normal workday. I am also crate trained and I do well on a leash too (I do pull some with excitement, but my harness helps Immensely). I love to wander around outside and play with friendly dogs, travel with my human, take naps with my human or just nap by myself on a comfy bed or sofa. My foster mom says I am soulful and happy and loving and I just want to be your best friend. I would love to be with you as much as possible. I also love a good bone, all the treats and a stuffed Kong. If you do have another pet in the house, I would need to be fed separately. This includes snacks too. I like to guard my meals. Because of my age I have some worn down teeth and I did have a growth removed, but thank goodness it wasn’t cancerous. At my last vet appointment the doctor might have detected a murmur so, everyone is keeping an eye on that.  But, it doesn’t slow me down at all! I would love to find my forever family who will provide me all the love I deserve! If you are interested in meeting Basil apply at www.causeforcanines.org Adoption fee: $195 Must be an Ohio resident & 23 or older. Children must be 5 years or older.   ##1633287##
