Story
Say Hi to George!  This poor pup has spent his whole life in a shelter. At 1 year old he has never had a home of his own.    George was found as a puppy running the streets with his mom. She has since been adopted and it’s now George’s turn for happily ever after !!    He is quite literally a super mutt !! We did his DNA and it came back as ….  Boxer…27.1% Border Collie…15.9% Norwegian Elkhound…14.2% Catahoula Leopard Dog…14.1% Golden Retriever…13.5% Supermutt…15.2% (mix of GSD, Lab, and Mountain Cur)    Who would have guessed?!    He went through our prison training program and did great! But he will need a very patient owner to help him continue to grow and figure out life isn’t so scary. George is looking for a home with a fenced yard, no young children and some furry siblings. He loves having other dogs around !    George is potty trained, crate trained and does well on a leash. He is also neutered, fully vaccinated, HW negative and on prevention.    If you are ready to welcome George with open arms, please apply to adopt at www.prodogsohio.org/adoptables  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We appreciate your support, in order to help us continue to rescue dogs! Donations can be made via our PayPal account - info@prodogsohio.org. You must be willing to commute to the location that the pet is being fostered in order to be eligible to adopt. We do not ship our pets. We also require that you personally bring the pet back to us should the adoption not work out.   We do NOT negotiate adoption fees. All money goes to support our rescue operation. We are 100% volunteered based. We require your current dog(s) to be current on vaccines and heartworm prevention.  Apply online at www.prodogsohio.org, under the Adoptables tab. Due to the volume of apps and inquiries, we may not be able to respond to everyone.October 3, 2025, 10:13 am

Story
My name is Chloe and I’m about 6 years old. I’m a boxer mix but my energy level is medium to low. I'm a little on the shy side and my favorite things to do are: lounge around with you and watch Netflix marathons, chew on my bones, watch the squirrels in the front window, and go on short walks. I’m not quite sure what toys are for but occasionally I like a soft squeaky one. I am potty trained, like my crate with a soft pillow or blanket, I know my basic sit command, and do well with car rides.  I’m super sweet but I’m still a little nervous around some people. I just need a little bit to warm up and my bouncy personality will come out! I like other dogs but I really don’t know how to play with them too much. Older kids are ok, but it’s best the kids have good manners since too much chaos gets me nervous. I have plenty of kisses and cuddles to share, just give me time to warm up and I’ll give you my whole heart forever!  My adoption fee is $350 and you can meet me by submitting and application at rescuedohio.org! ##607636##

Story
Ella has been with us since she was a puppy. She will be 8 in November. We love her very much. She is a good dog overall but has had some challenges as she has gotten older. We have an Autistic son who she does not do well with. Her anxiety has increased with age and she does not like young children. We have tried medication and a behavioral therapist for ideas on how to make it work but she continues to have challenges with him. She is great with adults and loves to cuddle and play. She is really a big baby and I am heartbroken to have to rehome her. We are looking for her to have a home where she can live out the rest of years peacefully without children.

This beautiful girl is Cocoa. Cocoa is 4 yrs old and has a pure velvet coat. She is very smart and PERFECTLY house trained. She has not had any accidents, has no desire to get on furniture, she is curious, but not at all destructive. She is also a very gentle dog that loves her toys, but does not destroy them. She can sit and give you her paw like a champ. Cocoa would love an active family that would take her for car rides, hikes and runs. She is an athletic girl that excels at ZOOMIES and TWIRLS. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application HEADLINER : Lively, Lovely, LaLa, aka Lala-palooza, Lala-pop! PERSONALITY : It's hard to believe that Lala hasn't been snapped up as yet. She's smart and loves everyone she meets. This energetic girl loves fresh veggies, fruit, ice cubes and a vigorous "butt scratch." Have you ever had that friend or relative that overstays their welcome? You know you have. Do not despair as there is a solution. Lala definitely has the bulldog "toots" that are guaranteed to clear out a room (or unwanted guests). Just remember to "breathe through your mouth". :) If you're looking for a dog with the personality of a potato, Lala is not the dog for you; lazy is not in Lala's DNA. If you want a hiking or running companion or a dog (with training) that would excel in lure coursing, agility, fly ball or any other high energy sport, Lala's your girl. Ahhh, if only there were a way to harness all that energy. FAVORITE ACTIVITIES : Lala is a high energy pup that loves to fetch... though she hasn't quite grasped the idea of releasing yet, she is working on it. Lala is a pup that never passes up the opportunity for a good game of tug of war. MEDICAL ISSUES : None. WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST KIND OF HOME : Lala would do best in an active home with a fenced yard where she can run around to her heart’s content and burn some of that high energy off. Lala can quite play rough with other dogs. A home where she the only dog soaking up the attention or a home with another large dog that matches her energy would be best. Kids older than 12 would be best as Lala may knock a smaller child down. Lala would greatly benefit from positive reinforcement obedience classes. Though Lala loves to go for a ride, she does get car sick so best not to feed her before she hops in the car.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application Are you seeking the goodest boy? Look no further, as his name is Saint and he is up for adoption. Rescue workers brought Saint in after finding him sleeping as a stray on a bench outside a remote house. They contacted his former owner and learned that he had abandoned Saint. His foster family lives near where rescuers found him. The foster family would love to adopt him, unfortunately their other male does not like him. Saint loves laying on the couch next to his person while watching tv. He lets out his extra energy by playing with toys or zooming around the yard. He can play with other dogs, or he can entertain himself. Although friendly to all people and children, he forms attachments to individuals. He knows sit, stay, up, down, lay down, no, come, leave it, crate and much more. Once you have him do something once or twice, it becomes second nature to him. He will chase a cat, but if you “say leave” it or “no” before the chase happens, he will leave them alone. This dog has everything to offer the perfect family. He is an easy trainable dog. His only downside is not having any people to ensure the best for this goodest boy. The current foster loves to talk about him, so feel free to ask questions.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Story
CloveyFemaleAge: 3 yearsWeight: 48 lbsBreed: American BulldogTrial Adoption Eligible Hi! I’m Clovey. I am a cuddly and active girl who gets along with other dogs as long as we are able to meet with a slow introduction. I have not been around cats or kids to know how I would do around them yet. When I am out of my crate I will go to the door and let you know I need to go out. I am still working on my crate training as I don’t like to be separated from my humans.  My favorite snacks are hot dogs! I love those things. I also know the command “sit” and will come to you when you call for me. I enjoy the Bark Box fuzzy toys. I like to run in the backyard and play with my fur sibling and oh boy do I love to cuddle. I really love being around my humans and am a very loving dog when I am the one getting all of the attention. I cannot wait to find my very own active family who will give me all the love and attention I deserve and who will be patient with me as I continue to learn. To help me find the perfect match, I’m eligible for Cause for Canines’ Trial Adoption Program! This gives approved adopters a chance to get to know me in their home before making things official. You must be an approved adopter to participate. If you are interested in meeting sassy and cuddly girl, apply to adopt her at: www.causeforcanines.org. Adoption fee: $350. Must be an Ohio resident and 23 or older. Children must be 5 years old or older.  ##2084245##
