This sweet girl was found wandering the streets of Philadelphia about 4 weeks ago. She was brought to an urgent care due to her excessive vomiting and the need to find her owner, but nobody claimed her. Having no one to take her in, the urgent care was going to send her to a kill shelter, so we stepped in to save her. The vet mentioned due to the sound of her bark that her previous owner may have tried to debark her so you can imagine she’s in need of someone to love and spoil her. She is about 1-2 years old, not spayed but is now up-to-date on rabies, heart worm and distemper shots. She is crate trained and has been working with our trainer on commands like sit, place, clicker-reward and whistle to come. We believe she would do best in a home with no other dogs- this will give her the best chance to be her sweetest, snuggliest self so she can give all her love to her owners. She loves to be pet and rest her big bully head on your lap.

Ivy ACCT-A-260030 is a 4-year-old female who was brought in by APOs as a stray on 8/27. Finder noted that she is “a straight diva, total cuddle bug, and snores like a old man but is funny as hell. She is animal reactive and has bitten an animal; she has bitten a dog on the leg. She makes her own way on leash, and pulls. She is good with strangers & children, and terrible with dogs & cats. Her ears are inflamed/thickened, and she has slight staining on all teeth, with pink/tacky gums. She is QAR, allowed all handling, and did fantastic for vax and rads. Per her exam on 8/27: “- QAR (quiet, alert and responsive) - Body Condition Score (BCS): 6/9 Muscle Condition Score (MCS): 3/3 - Thick crusting ocular discharge, conjunctivitis OU. No nasal/aural discharge. - Mild dental calculus, no apparent oral masses or foreign bodies - Mild tensing on abdominal palpation Assessment - Reported anorexia - KCS - UTI” BEHAVIORAL: Per staff on 8/29: “Stiff greetings at fence. Sniffed and able to be sniffed. Quick bouncy move, tolerant and moved away on her own” Per staff on 8/28: “Kennel Presentation: On the back side of the kennel when I approached. Called her name a few times to see if she'd turn around. Had to open the door. She slowly came up to the divider area. I tossed a few treats, she sniffed them but did not eat them. Ears forward and tail down not moving. Leash Skills: Spoke softly and she slowly came to the front. Lowered her head and allowed leash to go on. Hesitated to come out of kennel and stumbled a bit due to the height of the kennel. Walks slowly on the leash, noses to the ground once outside. Lots of stopping and going to the bathroom. Sociability: Tolerant of handling. Once I offered some food her body softened, ears to the side and mid tail wagging. Play: n/a Dog Interaction: Met snoop dog. Stiff fence greetings with high tail wagging. Took the meet slowly allowing the dogs to sniff each other. She then gave some quick bouncy moves and the moved away. Return to Kennel: Hesitated slightly to go back in. I said up up in a baby voice and she was able to jump up. Removed leash with hand.” Per staff on 8/28: “Attempted to get Ivy into playgroup. Stiff body, slowly walking to the fence. High tail and muzzle punched at the fence where the dog was.” Per staff on 8/27: “Dog has not ate in two days, blood in urine, heavy discharge from eyes.” Per staff on 8/27: “Wagging tail, few hello barks, lifted into truck easily.” ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. SOS!! Cinnamon Sugar SOS - - she was only given 1 month of foster. Meet Cinnamon Sugar, a 2–3-year-old, 50-lb sweetheart who has spent far too long simply trying to survive after someone seemingly left her behind. Everything about Cinnamon tells us she was once someone’s dog. She is incredibly well-behaved, potty trained in the yard, wonderful on a leash, perfect in the car, and knows exactly how to live alongside people. At some point, the family she trusted disappeared, leaving this incredibly sweet girl to fend for herself. Cinnamon stayed around the same neighborhood, seemingly believing it was still her home. But life there became increasingly dangerous. Feral street pack dogs bullied and chased her, neighbors no longer wanted her around, and recently a loose dog even attacked her. Somehow, through all of it, Cinnamon remained gentle, trusting, and desperate for affection. Thankfully, one kind neighbor has offered Cinnamon a safe foster home — but only for one month. We now have a small window to find this deserving girl the forever family she has been waiting for. Cinnamon is spayed, vaccinated, 4DX negative, fully vetted, and up to date on preventatives. She loves other dogs, has lived peacefully around cats, and is truly the kind of easy, loving companion who just wants to belong. Cinnamon is currently in Puerto Rico, but she can be adopted anywhere in the U.S. Like all of our Puerto Rico rescues, we will arrange her flight off the island to her adoptive family, and her transport is included in her adoption fee. Someone may have abandoned Cinnamon once, but she never stopped believing in people. Now she has one month of safety while we find the person who will finally show her that this time, she is home forever.
