Story
Meet Hermiod Hermiod shares the same heartbreaking yet miraculous beginning as his littermates. He was found abandoned in a box in the woods during freezing temperatures, and after rescue, his journey wasn’t over. Shortly after arrival, Hermiod became critically ill, and at one point we almost lost him. Thanks to dedicated veterinary care and round-the-clock supportive care, this resilient little guy pulled through. Today, he is fully recovered and thriving. Born mid-November 2025, Hermiod is believed to be a pit bull mix (DNA testing pending) and is smaller in stature. He has a beautiful brindle coat with white markings on his nose, chest, and feet that perfectly match his expressive personality. Hermiod is incredibly sweet and full of playful energy. He loves to run, chase toys, and interact with his environment. He’s very “pawsy”—using his front feet in a way that’s almost cat-like—which only adds to his charm. He does great with other dogs and cats and enjoys being part of the action. As with any puppy, Hermiod will need a committed adopter who understands the responsibility that comes with raising a young dog. Continued training, socialization, consistency, and a puppy-proofed home are essential to help him grow into a confident, well-mannered adult. Hermiod has already shown just how strong and determined he is. Now he’s ready for a family who will give him the stability, patience, and love he deserves for the rest of his life. Story
Meet Thor Thor is the final puppy from this incredible group, all of whom share the same heartbreaking but hopeful beginning. Thor and his littermates were found abandoned in a box in the woods during freezing temperatures. It’s truly a miracle they were discovered when they were. After receiving all necessary veterinary care and support, Thor is now a healthy, playful puppy ready for a forever home. Born mid-November 2025, Thor is believed to be a pit bull mix (DNA testing pending) and is smaller in stature. He is black with a white chest, chin, and toes, and his coat is noticeably softer than his siblings—especially cozy when you pet him. Thor is playful, friendly, and enjoys spending time with his people. He does well with other dogs and cats and loves being part of the group. One thing to note is that loud household noises can be a bit intimidating for him; he’s especially afraid of dryers when they’re running, so a patient home that can help him gain confidence would be ideal. As with any puppy, Thor will need continued training, socialization, and consistency. His future family should be prepared to puppy-proof their home and commit to the time and effort required for housetraining, basic manners, and helping a young puppy grow into a confident adult dog. Thor has already overcome a rough start to life. Now he’s ready to settle into a safe, loving home where his soft coat—and sweet presence—can be fully appreciated. Story
Meet Ray – A Brave Soul with a Heart Full of Love Ray is a 3-year-old Boxer with a gentle spirit and an unbreakable heart. Though he’s blind, Ray doesn’t let that stop him from living life with love and courage. His Story: Ray was found wandering the streets alone, starving and completely blind. We can only imagine how frightening it must have been for him to survive without being able to see. Despite being thin, anemic, and exhausted, Ray still greeted rescuers with kindness and trust — proof of his incredible spirit. Medical Notes: Thanks to many generous donors, Ray received a full eye evaluation and was diagnosed with Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA). This condition means he has lost nearly all of his vision and can only detect faint shadows or changes in light. While there’s no treatment to restore his sight, daily supplements can help preserve what little vision he has left. Personality; Ray has shown amazing resilience. In just a few short weeks, he’s learned the layout of the shelter and continues to grow more confident every day. His playful, silly side shines through as he learns to trust and navigate his world. Ray enjoys gentle affection, soft voices, and his favorite toys. Once he bonds with you, he’ll reward your patience with unwavering loyalty and love. Home Needs: Ray may do well with calm, friendly dogs (meet and greets are always required). We’re not sure how he feels about cats, but with slow introductions, it may be possible. He would thrive in a quieter, adult-only home with a patient family willing to guide him and give him the safe, stable life he’s been waiting for. Could You Be His Match? Ray has been through so much, yet his heart remains open. He’s ready for a soft place to land and a family who will see him for the brave, gentle boy he truly is.
