Story
Rocky is young and will be 2 years old on July 31st. He sleeps at the bottom of my bed. He walks very good on leash and does listen to sit commands. I am only doing this because Rocky has attacked our 13 year old Boston Terrier on numerous occasions and he must go for the protection of the Boston. I am afraid that Rocky will eventually kill or seriously harm him. Rocky is up to date on his rabies vaccine and other shots. I listed him as not being neutered but to be clear he does not fit any category for that. The vet that I take my dogs to could not find any testicles in Rocky to remove. They did a scan of him and found nothing. The vet told us that although it is rare in his opinion Rocky was Born without testicles. One other negative about him is he is people shy but not aggressive toward them. He also is very afraid of children so I would recommend he go to a home without small children.

Story
Hi everyone...My name is REX and I am up for ADOPTION aka looking for my forever home through Cross Your Paws Rescue. I'm estimated to be 3 y.o. but my foster mom thinks I am younger. My foster mom did a DNA test and the results are a Heinz 57 mix... I have 22% american pit bull terrier, 17% Treewalker Coonhound,14% Grest Pyrenees, 7% Boxer...I arrived in PA on 10/19/25 weighing in at 47lbs... but I now weigh a healthy 53 lbs. - No accidents in my foster home.- I am super dog friendly and would love a permanent home with a puppy sibling (probably a sibling my size or larger would be best) to continue to show me the ropes. If thats not ideal then I would do great in a house where my family was home a lot with a fenced in yard. I do not require a lot of exercise but I am super happy to walk/hike/explore as well. I have great stamina.- My mom works night shift but so far I am happy to snuggle close and sleep without a peep during the day and night.- I do not like being in a crate away from my family I prefer to snuggle on the bed if allowed.- I love to be as close to my person as I can- I do not beg for food when you are eating but simply lay down at your feet.- I do not jump on anyone but my foster mom when she comes home. She is trying to help me learn that's not ideal even though Im so excited to see her. (My foster sister does it, so I think I should.)- I do not bite.- I did great visiting with a 11 y.o boy in the house and outside while he was running around me.  I am working on...- learning on my basic commands - (UPDATE- for some reason I do not like to sit on command, it appears to make me nervous).- learning no one (especially the men) wants to hurt me. (UPDATE- I love my foster dad and lay/sleep beside him, when mom is not home, but if he goes to pet my head I'm still scared)- learning car rides can be for fun things (UPDATE- I love going on rides but I require a seat belt to keep me inside when the windows are open)- learning the feral cats/wildlife are not allowed to be chased (UPDATE- when my mom tells me to leave it - I do not chase the outside cats)- learning on my recall... but my tree walker coonhound nose makes me want to get on a trail and not use my ears the best.  (UPDATE- I am working on off leash in my yard and on hikes and doing well!) We will continue to update Rex and all the good things he is learning... please SHARE to help him find his home! ##2546643##

Story
Hi! I’m Fritz, a lively 3 year old boxer mix. I’m full of energy and ready to find a forever home where I can stretch my legs and fill my days with fun! As a playful and high energy pup, I thrive in an active environment. Whether it’s running around the yard, exploring new trails or embarking on walking adventures, I’m always down for a good time! I have a smart mind that matches my active body. I can zip through most of an agility course with ease, showing off my quick learning skills and physical agility. I’m looking for a home that can keep up with my energetic lifestyle and where I can be the only pet. I have lots of love to give and would fit best in a home without young kids, as my enthusiasm might be a bit much for little ones. With me around you will never have a dull moment… From morning jogs to evening training sessions I am your go to guy for all things active and fun! We are currently open Tue-Thursday by appointment only, and Fri/Sat 12-5 and Sun/Mon from 11-5. Facebook comments and questions are NOT monitored. If you have questions or would like to schedule an appointment during the week, please email us at dogs@southhillspetrescue.org. No calls please!! We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTION, PLEASE GO TO OUR WEBSITE TO READ ABOUT THE ADOPTION PROCESS AND FILL OUT AN APPLICATION. www.furkidrescue.org Mister was rescued from being chained to a fence with no protection from the elements. His former owner was a homeless and addicted to drugs. A fellow rescuer purchased him to get him out of the situation. He is good with other dogs. Loves his crate, toys, going for walks and going in the car. It takes him awhile to get settled into a home, so he needs a patient adopter.

Story
Meet a playful, loving, and loyal sidekick: Samson Samson had a crappy start to life. He was not properly cared for - tied to a staircase. No vet care after he fell down the stairs. It has left him with an injury to his right back leg (you may notice the slight shortness of it). Multiple vets have evaluated the leg and recommend keeping it given his use of the leg and lack of pain. He gets around great and has managed to jump up on the kitchen counter of his foster's home. Trust us - the leg works just fine!! Despite his neglectful background, this ~10 month old boxer mix is 48lb of joyful energy. With a beautiful brindle coat and a personality to match, he brings enthusiasm to everything he does!  Whether it’s sprinting laps around the yard, showing off his impressive jumping skills, or simply soaking up time with his favorite people. Samson is very friendly and playful, the kind of dog who greets each day like it’s the best one yet. His zest for life is contagious, making him a great match for an active or somewhat active home that appreciates a little (or a lot of) fun. When he gets his bursts of energy out, Samson loves to sit on the couch with a toy, bone, or chew.  He’s a loyal sidekick at heart who loves to stick by your side after a good play session. He’s a great eater, mostly potty trained (occasional accidents if not taken out regularly), crate trained, and thrives with space to run and explore. A fenced yard would be his dream setup, where he can stretch his legs and burn off that puppy energy. He loves other dogs, although some of them don't always appreciate his exuberant play styles. We think Samson would do fine as the only dog or in a house with multiple dogs. Samson is not currently living with cats, but we feel he would likely not do well with them. Kids 5 and up would likely be a wonderful part of Samson's forever life. He would be in heaven running around a yard or playing fetch with them. If you’re looking for a loving, spirited companion who will keep life exciting and full of laughter, this brindle boy is ready to meet you. Samson can go home today to an approved adopter. He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and negative for heartworm and lyme. Apply at pawsacrosspittsburgh.com/adopt. KL 16182 ##2726833##

Story
Meet Daytona! Daytona is a 2-year-old, 50 lb Pit Bull Terrier mix who is ready to find a forever home. True to his name, Daytona is full of energy, joy, and enthusiasm for life. He is a happy, affectionate boy who loves people and makes friends wherever he goes. Daytona is very social and enjoys being with his humans as much as possible. He is playful, goofy, and loves attention and affection. He can be a bit exuberant at times and doesn’t always realize his size, so he may do best with older children who are comfortable around larger, energetic dogs. He appears to do well with other dogs and may enjoy having playful canine companions in the home. We are unsure how he does with cats, though cat testing may be available for serious adopters. Daytona would thrive in an active home that can match his energy and continue providing structure, love, and enrichment. He is looking for a family who will appreciate his big personality and even bigger heart. All of our adoptable pets are... - Spayed or neutered - Vaccinated - Blood tested - Microchipped - Flea treated & dewormed You can email us at adopt@whiteoakanimalsafehaven.com or give us a call at 412-672-8901 for more info!

Story
Please take a chance on Dottie! Dottie is only 2 years old, but she has already spent most of her life without the one thing every dog deserves… a place to truly call home. This 60-pound pit bull mix has spent far too much of her young life in a kennel, waiting for someone to choose her and mean it. She was adopted once, and we truly believed she had finally found her forever. But just six months later, Dottie was returned when her owner’s demanding schedule left them unable to give her the time, structure, and activity she needs to thrive. Now she’s back… starting over again. And despite it all, Dottie still loves with her whole heart. She is playful, affectionate, and full of life. She loves being with her people, soaking up attention, playing, exploring, and showing off her silly, joyful personality. Underneath her strong girl exterior is a dog who just wants to belong to someone. Dottie is smart, eager to learn, and trying so hard. She is currently enrolled in a board-and-train program, where she is doing amazing with leash manners, crate training, basic obedience, and building confidence. She is putting in the work every single day, preparing for the chance that someone will finally give her the life she deserves. She would thrive with an active, experienced owner who can provide consistency, guidance, and patience. Someone who understands that she doesn’t need to be “fixed”—she simply needs someone willing to believe in her. Her ideal home would be: • Adult-only • No cats • Dog meet and greet required (she may do best as the only dog at first) • Experienced dog owner preferred Dottie can be selective with other dogs, but she has had dog friends before. With proper introductions and structure, she can absolutely succeed. Her adoption fee is fully sponsored, and we are committed to helping her transition successfully. We will be here for her adopters with support, resources, and guidance—because we are determined that her next home will be her last. Dottie has been let down more than once in her short life, and we refuse to let that be her story. She doesn’t need perfection. She doesn’t need someone with all the answers. She just needs someone willing to take a chance on her. Someone willing to say, “You’re home now.” Dottie is available for meet and greets while she finishes her training program. If you have ever wanted to truly save a life, this is your moment. All of our adoptable pets are... - Spayed or neutered - Vaccinated - Blood tested - Microchipped - Flea treated & dewormed You can email us at adopt@whiteoakanimalsafehaven.com or give us a call at 412-672-8901 for more info!

Story
Meet Crowley! Around 7 years old and 70 lbs, Crowley is a big, lovable American Bully with an even bigger heart. This gentle giant is the definition of a “big baby”- equal parts goofy, affectionate, and completely devoted to his people. Crowley has a silly, hammy personality that will keep you smiling, but his favorite thing in the world is simply being close to the ones he loves. Whether he’s leaning in for pets or quietly keeping you company, Crowley’s sweet and loyal nature shines through in everything he does. When Crowley first arrived, he was dealing with some skin issues, but with a little TLC he’s already feeling so much better and well on his way to looking his best again! ~A Very Special Bond~ Crowley is deeply bonded with his longtime companion, Abaddon (“Abbie”), and the two must be adopted together. Their connection is truly something special—Crowley absolutely adores her and is always by her side, checking in, playing, and looking at her with pure love. They bring each other comfort, confidence, and joy, and we are committed to keeping them together. Crowley and Abaddon were surrendered when their family could no longer afford their care. They came into the shelter together with their daughter, Coda Rae. Good to Know: Dog-friendly (especially loves his Abbie!) Previously lived with cats Would do best with older children familiar with large breeds Crowley is looking for a home where he can continue to be someone’s big, goofy shadow... ideally with a comfy spot to lounge, plenty of love, and his best girl Abbie right by his side. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to this sweet, devoted pair, Crowley will reward you with endless love (and lots of adorable, silly moments).
