This medium-sized, short-haired beauty is spayed, house trained, crate trained, and leash trained, making her an easy fit into any loving family. Venus is friendly with both cats and dogs, rides well in the car, and has a playful side that shines when she’s enjoying her toys. Gentle, affectionate, and eager to please, Venus will make a loyal and loving companion to the lucky family who gives her a chance .   Foster:  Candace Cook Thank you for considering adopting a new family member. Memphis area adoption fee is $250      All dogs are spayed or neutered {unless medical issues prohibit the surgery}, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm tested {if old enough} and treated if necessary. They also are de-wormed and start heartworm and flea prevention when rescued. It is continued until adopted. Adopter is furnished with their 1st month's heartworm prevention. ** Out of State adoption fee is $475  and includes a $150.00 the non refundable transportation fee paid to an approved animal transportation company. Several states require the dog to be quarantined 48 hours before pickup. The adopter pays the quarantine fee at time of pick up. Meet Darlin...at HAA we don't give up on our dogs! This girl has been at our shelter 4 years and 11 months!! How ridiculous is that?! Let me tell you about Darlin. She was found as a stray with a prolapse uterus out on the side of the road. She had to have emergency surgery to save her life. She has recovered from this, she has recovered from heartworms, and lived almost FIVE years in a kennel. She protects her "space" - it's her home. Taken out of her kennel she warms up to people very fast. She has a buddy she plays with - a big Walker hound. She does best with male dogs. She isn't a young pup anymore, so she just likes to hang out with her buddy. This girl needs out of here YESTERDAY! She is a volunteer favorite & looking for a home to call her own.
