Story
The Bull Terrier is an iconic dog, undoubtedly one of the most recognizable breeds. These terriers pack a lot of personality in their bodies and are known for being loyal dogs that can excel in many roles. Izzy #hmrizzybt is absolutely no exception. She went from living in a home her whole life to being taken to a very crowded shelter the day after Christmas, the shelter was told she didn’t like the new puppy. Confused and terrified she was barking at people as they passed her kennel, definitely not looking like a sweet family pet. Fortunately, a volunteer saw past her anxious behavior and she was whisked out of there. She immediately relaxed as she rode in a new truck, with new people, new people that she sensed safe. It became obvious when we started working Izzy she didn’t know what other dogs were, we can only assume she had lived alone her life and the shock of a new dog was immense. Given time and support she had come around very quickly, now confidently going on walks with other dogs and will continue to work on her social skills this week. This girl adores women, she is initially cautious of men (we assume there is a story here….) but is quickly learning to trust. Her Christmas may have been horrible but we are wishing the new year brings her a new and better life. Izzy is 4 yrs old and 40 lbs. In Warrenton, Virginia currently. We will be continuing on her training this week but expect she will be confident and ready for a new home soon. Story
This dog is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation FREE if picked up in TN, $175 plus transport fee for out-of-state adoptions. Mei is the kind of dog who bounces into your day with pure joy and a big smile that makes everything feel lighter. She is a happy-go-lucky sweetheart with a playful spark, the perfect mix of medium-high energy when the toys come out and soft cuddles when she’s ready to settle in. She is a natural comedian. Mei gives full body hugs, showers you with kisses and chases her toys with so much enthusiasm that she sometimes tosses them for herself. At about 2 years old and 45 pounds, she is a charming mystery mix with perky ears, a chocolate and tan coat and a stocky little frame that only adds to her character. She might have a hint of Doberman, maybe some Australian Kelpie and some Pit Bull Terrier. Mei already knows how to sit for a treat and she learns quickly. She is doing well with housetraining when kept on a routine and she trots happily into her crate for a treat, settling after a little whine. She loves to zoom around the yard and will play fetch for as long as you want. If you love watching a dog light up with pure joy, she is your girl. Mei does have food allergies and needs to stay on a hydrolyzed protein prescription diet. When she arrived she had no fur and was miserable, but with proper care she has blossomed into a shiny, happy pup. She will need to stay on her special diet to keep feeling her best. She gets along well with friendly, submissive dogs, seems neutral with cats and enjoys every person she meets. She rides well in the car and would benefit from a fenced yard where she can stretch her legs and enjoy her zoomies. After a tough start in life, Mei is more than ready for the fairy tale ending she deserves. If you think you might be her match, reach out to us for more information. Meet this dog at Petco on Saturday, Jan 3rd from 1-4 pm CST at Petco, 377 W. Jackson St #11 Cookeville, TN 38501.   Interested in adopting?
