Story
Chewy has been in our care since early December and you can imagine that he is getting pretty eager to get out of the shelter and into his forever home! Chewy is young and full of life. He is an active dog who will be super grateful to have a positive outlet for his energy. Chewy loves enrichment and mental stimulation! He is a people pleaser and hates feeling like he is in trouble. With that being said, calm voices and positive reinforcement will be best for Chewy while he continues to learn! Chewy has been friendly towards other dogs in the shelter and may enjoy a friend. A friend that matches his energy would be ideal. We can always provide a dog meet and greet prior to adopting if needed! Chewy did arrive to the shelter as a stray so we do not know if he has lived with children or other animals. Slow introductions are advised! Chewy does appear to be mostly potty trained but that can be a hard thing to keep up with in the shelter. Please show Chewy grace while he adapts to his new home! He does know the cue “sit” and typically walks well on a leash, but we won’t lie, he will pull at times! Chewy is reluctant to go back into his kennel throughout the day; he really knows how to work this puppy dog eyes. Chewy is a good boy who has a lot of potential! He just needs a dedicated, patient owner to show him the way.
