STAR is a foster-based rescue. All our rescue animals stay in foster homes until adoption. We do not have a central facility. If you want to meet any of our adoptables please submit an application.  Hi! My name is Croissant! I'm a big boy that is looking for my forever family! I had quite the adventerous life before I ended up in rescue. I was a stray alone on the streets of Flint for over a month. Some nice neighbors were feeding me but I was too shy for them to catch me. Finally the nice people were able to trap me and at first I was scared but then I was SO relieved and happy that I was safe and never would I be cold, wet or hungry again. I went to the vet and got a clean bill of health. They guess that I am a young boy and maybe a year to year and a half years years old and I have pretty teeth. I am up to date on my vaccinations, neutered, and cant wait for my forever home. I am a big boy but I am gentle. I take treats nicely and I walk nice on a leash. I will make a family very happy. I would probably like a doggy friend, and I am not reactive to strange dogs. If you would like to meet me, please fill out an app or email my foster mom! Heather@savingtailsanimalrescue.org All STAR animals come vetted, Up to Date (UTD) on age appropriate shots and testing, spay and neutered (if of age,) and microchipped. AGE DISCLAIMER: Unfortunately, most of the orphaned animals that come into our rescue looking for homes don’t bring birth certificates. Sometimes we know our pets’ ages. Sometimes we don’t. So we make our best guess based on the condition of their teeth and the veterinarians best guess.   BREED DISCLAIMER: Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label . Microchips: For the safety of our dogs and peace of mind of our fosters and adopters, STAR microchips all dogs prior to adoption with Petlink Microchips. Please understand that all dogs MUST still wear a collar with ID tags (which include your current information) AT ALL TIMES. Please remember, our foster dogs are extremely important to us-- we will always take any of our dogs back, if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog. Never surrender him/her to a shelter!
