Great Scott! Stop looking at those other dogs profiles and take a peak at mine I say! The name is Sir Gregor, very exquisite one might say, and I am quite the deal! I am a large YOUNG adult Mastiff and I've come looking for a family who wants a dog that'll make a big splash! At only 15 months old I am tipping the scales at 130# of love and a little drool :) Oh, who am I kidding, a LOT of drool! But Mastiff lovers KNOW that drool is part of the deal :D I came from a nice family who didn't realize that even though I am a big softie at heart, I am a Mastiff and with that comes a protective side that needs to be managed... So I took over their house. What is wonderful about dogs is that in a new environment (like the rescue) I take cues from my new family and this rescue family has definitely dropped my status from protector to friend and silly boy!! So, you must know the breed to adopt me. And be strong leaders. I love love kids and am great with other dogs too! I just wanna snuggle up all day and watch tv, I have a great energy and you better just hurry up and adopt me!! Local adoption fee is $400 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $800 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Fill out an Adoption Application LOUIE IS A COURTESY POST LOCATED IN PHILADELPHIA, PA. Louie is a BIG lover. He loves his people and always wants to cuddle and snuggle his way into you. He is almost 2 years old and loves to nap all day after a nice walk in the morning and the occasional zoomies. He is a big boy and very smart - he has bells he jingles to go outside for potty, knows to wait for his food until you say its ok, and just wants to hang out with his people all day. Likes: Naps, tennis balls, ropes, food. Dislikes: Dense urban areas. He is protective over his people so strangers can be scary and cause reactivity. A rural area with few strangers would make Louie very happy. Personality: Laid back and loving. Temperament: With his people he is calm, and mostly sleepy. In the city streets he can be ON more and alert. Energy level: Naps most of the day with has spurts of energy. He likes his morning walk and a few tug-of wars on a rope. Favorite activities: Snuggling! Good with cats, dogs, and kids (over 6)?: He has previously lived with kids and dogs but does not currently.  Being the only dog would be best for Louie. He is very large so small kids might not be good. He doesn’t know how big he is and could knock kids over. Not good with: Strangers Housetrained: Yes! Crate trained: Yes! Requires a fenced yard (physical fence and/or invisible fence)? Louie doesn't currently have a yard, but if he had one a fenced yard would be best. Walks well on a leash? He gets better and better every day. He can pull but it’s not too persistent. Challenges: Stranger danger and reactivity towards people who spook him. Any Medical issues? He is on daily Fluoxetine. What would be the best kind of home? A suburban or rural home with older kids and no other pets would be best. No kids and no pets would also work, because he wants all the attention.  If you're looking for your one and only, Louie is your boy!   Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy: Please know that 100% of our fees and donations pay for the costs of rescuing dogs. These include but are not limited to pull fees from shelters, veterinary examinations, vaccinations, medications and care, microchips, neuter/spay surgeries, heartworm treatments, behavior evaluations, and foster care, as needed. Important notes before applying. Adopters must have their primary residence in one of the following states: Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, and parts of North Carolina. We will not adopt giant breed dogs to renters. Homes with children under 6 years of age will not be approved for adoption. Homes with children should have a fenced yard. Pets currently in the applicant's home must have a history of appropriate veterinary care. Homes with intact dogs will not be approved for adoption.  Proof of any of the following exceptions is required: The intact dog is a working member of a law enforcement, or search and rescue/recovery team. The intact dog is registered under the auspices of the American Kennel Club and is actively being shown. A veterinarian has determined the sterilization procedure would harm the intact dog.  We believe in Force Free Training Methods and do not approve of methods or devices using pain or force to control the dog, or to deter undesirable behavior.  Homes with highly varnished steps must have carpeting, securely fixed stair treads, or a non-skid surface. **We encourage you to remediate potential safety issues while your application is under review, prior to the home visit. Story
Hey there, party people! I'm Applebee's Dollarita, the life of the doggy soire, and I'm on the lookout for my perfect match! Picture this: a 4-6 year old, neutered Bullmastiff mix, weighing in at a cool 70lbs. Yeah, I'm a big boy, but they say good things come in large, slobbery packages! I strutted into the shelter like I just found the last lime for my margarita - lost and not reclaimed. Now, I'm ready to be the salt to someone's tequila! I'm your gentle giant, always keeping a watchful eye over my favorite human. Whether you're into adventurous walks or cozy couch snuggles, count me in! I'm a playful pup, especially when there's a snow day involved - you'll catch me doing my best doggy snow dance. I'm open to meeting the whole crew - dogs, kids, you name it - because who doesn't love a good dinner date or a backyard fiesta? So, if you're ready to add a splash of fun to your life, mix things up with Applebee's Dollarita - your new partner in canine capers! My adoption fee is $175, which covers all of my vetting. If you would like more information on me, please give SVASC a call at (540) 943-5142, email SVASC at ewiles@co.augusta.va.us, or stop by during open hours and ask for Applebee's Dollarita!
