Story
Meet Mia! This two-year-old Mastiff mix is as sweet as she is stunning, ready to bring joy and warmth to her forever home.Mia's soft fawn coat and expressive eyes make her a standout beauty. At a solid 70 pounds (though she could stand to gain a few more), she's a big bundle of love looking for someone to share her affectionate, laid-back personality with. Mia can be a tad reserved when you first meet, but once she warms up, she's all about gentle nuzzles and seeking out snuggles.Rescued and now thriving, Mia has learned so much already. She loves her playtime, whether it's chasing balls in the yard or enjoying a serene stroll through the neighborhood. Mia thrives in a soothing environment and is looking for a family that offers stability and lots of cuddles. She has a loving nature that flourishes under gentle care, ideal for families looking for a quieter, affectionate companion to share in life's quieter moments. She'd love an active family ready to show her the ropes of being a 'good' girl' to join on adventures. We are unsure how Mia is with cats or kids. She has been around dogs, but can show some resource guarding around high-value items so she may do best in a home as the only dog.If Mia sounds like the perfect addition to your family, come meet her and let her quiet charm and loving demeanor win you over. She's ready to fill your home with love, loyalty, and the sweetest of memories. Primary Color: Red Weight: 34.92 Age: 3yrs 0mths 2wks

Story
Meet Tank, a magnificent big boy who is eagerly awaiting his forever home! At the shelter, Tank's interactions with staff highlight his true, loving nature. He adores his stuffed toys and will hold one in his mouth with big tail wags when he's happy to see you. Tank loves to play tug and enjoys scratches, leaning against our legs like a big cat when receiving them, and rolling onto his back when he wants belly rubs.He can be stubborn at times but he is a sweetie that comes with a unique set of challenges that only add to his charm. Tank is ready to go into a loving home after fully recovering from an enucleation. He only has one eye, but still navigates his surroundings well, although he can be more sensitive to environmental stimuli. Tank is startled by fast moving vehicles and semi-trucks and is currently working on being able to tolerate them. He may occasionally jump towards them and because he is a strong boy, he will need a strong handler to take him on walks. Tank is still learning to get into kennels, crates, and cars, and we are diligently working on behavior modification using positive reinforcement to make these experiences more comfortable for him. His future family should be dedicated to continually working on these issues. High-value treats like chicken and Cheese Whiz have proven effective in helping to encourage him.He can be mouthy when excited, so practicing calm interactions with him and training will help him succeed in his new home. We are currently working with Tank on muzzle training, as it is a great skill to have. With continuous and consistent training, Tank is an amazing dog with lots of love to give. While we have not had the chance to test Tank's compatibility with other dogs, it is important to note that he has shown barrier reactivity towards the other dogs in our care. He also has a prey drive and will need a home with no other animals. Due to his specific needs, Tank would do best in a household without children. For the right person or family, Tank promises a heartwarming companionship like no other. If you're ready to open your heart to a big-hearted dog in need, Tank is waiting to become your loyal and loving companion!💙🐾Do you think you could be Tank's person? Here are some ways to find out:1.) Visit our centre to meet this pet during adoption viewings Friday to Tuesday noon to 3pm, learn more about their ideal match, and apply to adopt in person; or2.) Submit an online application adopt.spca.bc.ca and staff will contact the first suitable adopter to set-up a visit! Kindly note that due to the high number of applications and the availability of walk-in adoptions an online applicant would have to be available to come in for a meet within 24 hr. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We provide weekly socialization programs for our dogs through playgroups and group leash training classes available to all dogs in our adoption program, and Doggy Sleepover, Doggy Day Out, and Ambassador programs for our boarding dogs. There is a professional dog trainer on staff to provide support for our fosters and dogs, and an off-site dog trainer for dogs that need more extensive behavior modification. This helps us learn deeply about every dog, prepare them for adoption, and ultimately match them with loving families. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
