Story
If you know and love Malinois mixes, you already know what makes them so special- it’s their intelligence, devotion, and unstoppable drive to bond deeply with their person. Wendy here embodies all of that and more. Take a look at her here then come back to read more- https://youtu.be/XY_xeGiaC4Q Estimated to be about 2½-years-old, Wendy weighs 55-pounds fully-grown, and we believe she is a Malinois mix but given she is a rescue we cannot guarantee breed or birthday. She is also stunning with a soft coat of mixed brown and black fur, a set of amazingly alert ears, and the warmest eyes that just land with connection. Wendy has a dedicated foster who has spent time and energy into ensuring Wendy is best prepared for life in her future home. It didn’t take long for her to show everyone just how much love, joy, and loyalty she has to give. She lives peacefully with three other dogs -two females and one male - and plays happily with them every day. At home, she’s cuddly and affectionate, the kind of dog who leans into you for pets and nudges your hand when she wants more. She’s also well-trained and wonderful on leash - walking politely at your side, calm and focused. Wendy even completed two months of professional training (circle back to her dedicated foster), which helped her master basic manners and develop her natural intelligence. Like many working breeds, she thrives with structure, exercise, and mental enrichment. Daily walks, a good run, or a game of fetch will keep her happiest -she’s athletic, agile, and loves having a purpose. Outside of the home, Wendy can feel unsure in new environments. Me too Wendy. My solution is to just keep it simple- it works like a charm. If you are looking for her to be your tag-along pal please know it is not part of her natural demeanor but she can learn. She’ll need a confident, experienced adopter who understands how to help a Malinois mix build trust and decompress in a new home. Once she bonds with you, she’ll be your shadow, your biggest fan, and your most loyal protector. Because of her strong bond with her people, she may have a little separation anxiety at first, hello to most any and all shepherd mixes- they miss their people, but with patience, routine, and reassurance, we do know she settles in beautifully. Wendy does best with the company of other dogs and would love to be the +1 to another medium-energy dog. Not only does it give her a much appreciated playmate but it helps her confidence when initially settling into a new space and routine. She did meet our house cat and was respectfully cautious but we are recommending a cat-free home currently based on her foster sharing she has tried to chase a street cat. If you are interested in Maggie and have cats we are happy to do a much more thorough cat-test to truly determine her limit. She’s wonderful with other dogs and adores her humans, including her foster family’s gentle 4 year old nephew. She likes him! Wendy is a truly special girl- affectionate, intuitive, intelligent, and loyal to the core. With someone who values her tender heart as much as her strength, she’s going to be extraordinary! Story
Within 3 seconds of meeting or seeing Rosie Posey, you are required by law to comment on her rolls and jiggle. Rosie’s whole personality is “easygoing bestie.” She’s friendly, affectionate, and has that calm, happy-to-be-here energy that makes her feel like an instant family dog. Her favorite hobby is belly rubs. Her second favorite hobby is holding down the couch while reminding you that belly rubs exist. She happily rolls right over at the first sign of pets and soaks up attention like it’s sunshine. She’s estimated to be around 2.5 years old, and while rescue life means we can’t promise a breed… Rosie sure looks like a mastiff mix (and she wears it beautifully). Let’s just call her 74-lbs of mastiff-y bundle of rolls, squish, and wiggly-butt charm. Want to see Rosie Posey in action? Head to YouTube for “Rosie Posey | Belly Rubs & Speed-Limit Zoomies” and watch this lovable tank show off her gentle vibe. https://youtu.be/uVsJ7rOPnW0 With other dogs, Rosie is polite and social in a low-drama way.. She met new dog friends calmly, and while she’s more of a companionship girl than a full-time playmate, she did treat us to the cutest, speed-limit-abiding zoomies (heavy on the adorable, light on the chaos). She gravitated to the relaxed dogs over the high-energy, wrestling types but simply was friendly and respectful. Rosie was also introduced to Miller, almost 5 years old, when she stopped by for a visit and she did wonderfully! She was immediately all wiggles of love, rolling over and gently asking for pets like a pro. She’s got a big dog presence and can be a little enthusiastic with her affection, but she’s not out here launching herself onto people, more like schoooching in real close despite her size but she is very polite with her body. With Cats, Rosie did well meeting our house cat. She was respectfully curious and if possibly joining a home with a cat we will set her up for a sleepover with our Kitty Commitee to confirm that same good manners over an extended time in a home setting. If you’re looking for a sweet, squishy, affectionate girl who brings calm companionship and occasional speed-limit zoomies to the table, Rosie is ready to roll into your home, rolls and all. Story
If you’ve ever loved a big dog - a really big dog - you know the kind of presence they carry. Baloo is that dog. He is a companion that fills the room with his goofy charm and regal frame but it will he his silly, goofy side that will be what fills your heart. Take a look at his goofy goodness here then come back to read more- https://youtu.be/QoqhXxMkibI Baloo is as magnificent as they come -strong, handsome, and full of a quiet love. He is affectionate, playful, and loves to engage, but he is no lap dog. He understands his size and loves people who understand dogs his size. This boy needs structure, your confidence, and someone who can manage all 82 pounds of his enthusiasm when he’s excited. He has great basic leash skills and walks with purpose, and while it’s not common, he can still pull hard when he is eager to meet or greet. Because of that, Baloo is looking for a home with no small children and no physically limited handlers -not because he isn’t loving, but because he’s simply a whole lot of dog. He gets along well with other dogs who enjoy and can match his play style. He’s the “roughhousing in the yard” kind of guy -playful and physical, and so much fun to watch. When dogs are confident and enjoy that same type of play, he thrives. Baloo has made some wonderful dog friends who he plays beautifully with. You can see his big goofy grin and those paws in the air and know he is having a blast! The best part though is when he starts to get tired he will simply roll over mid-play and lay on the ground with his playmate to roll around in the grass. Baloo is eager to please, responsive to correction, and happiest when he has clear direction. He’s not suited for apartment living, no surprise right? This boy needs space, both physically and mentally. A home with a fenced yard and a confident, calm person will give Baloo the structure he needs to shine. Big heart, big presence- that’s Baloo. If you’re the kind of person who looks at a big dog and sees powerful potential and big fun, he is your perfect match! Ready to welcome Baloo home?
