Story
PWRESCUE.ORG **PHOENIX METRO AREA ONLY** Look at this cutie! Meet Luna, a 6-year-old, 20-pound scruffy terrier blend with a zest for life and plenty of energy to enjoy it! Despite being in her middle years, Luna is still full of fun and adventure. Luna would be perfectly content as the only dog in your home or with a non-dominant male dog. She loves exploring the outdoors, so a secure, fenced backyard is a must—she’s not suited for apartment or condo living. Luna enjoys walks and would be thrilled to spend the day with you, whether you're going on adventures or just hanging out together. While Luna is easygoing, she prefers to be the only female dog in your life. She’s not particularly fussy, but she’d rather not share her home with other female dogs. We’re not sure about her interactions with cats or young children, so we recommend a home with older, responsible kids who can appreciate her delightful personality. Luna is up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $300.00. If you’re ready to make Luna a cherished member of your family, please visit https://pwrescue.org and click on the “Adopt” button to complete an application.  Pathways Home Animal Rescue October 8, 2024, 5:39 pm

Story
PWRESCUE.ORG *PHOENIX METRO AREA ONLY* Taz is a delightful 14-month-old terrier mix who weighs around 15 pounds. With his boundless energy and enthusiasm, he's sure to bring joy to an active family with a yard where he can run and play. This spirited boy loves to vocalize his excitement and might not be the best fit for apartment or condo living due to his penchant for "sounding alarms." He could adapt well to having another dog around, provided there’s a proper introduction, though his lively nature might be a bit too much for older dogs. He’s not been officially tested with cats, so a cat-free home would be ideal for him. As with all puppies and young dogs, Taz will require some basic obedience training so that he can become the best boy he can be!   Since Taz was found as a stray, his history with children is unknown. Therefore, he’d thrive best in a home with older kids who have some experience with dogs and who can match his energetic and happy-go-lucky personality. Taz is up to date on vaccinations, neutered and microchipped.  His adoption fee is $350.00.   If you would like to add this sweet boy to your family, please visit our website: https://pwrescue.org and click on the "Adopt" button to complete an application.Pathways Home Animal Rescue October 8, 2024, 5:39 pm

Story
PWRESCUE.ORG Meet Zsa Zsa and Lanza, a pair of adorable 6-year-old sisters who are the perfect blend of Terrier and Maltese! Each weighing in at 14 pounds, they’re a delightful duo looking for a loving home together. These sweet girls came to us when their former owner could no longer care for them. Having been together since puppyhood, they are bonded and will need to be adopted as a pair. Zsa Zsa, the big sister, tends to take charge, while Lanza brings her own playful energy. They’re full of life and love to greet everyone who walks through the door with a vocal doggie “hello”, but once the introductions are made, they settle in for cozy cuddles on the couch. Zsa Zsa and Lanza have lived their entire life with a single woman and seem to thrive in that environment. While they’ve had some experience with men, they’ll need a patient adopter who can help them adjust if there is a man in the home. Older kids might be okay, but a child-free home would be their ideal setting. As for cats, they’re likely to prefer a feline-free environment. They are both crate trained, potty trained and know a few basic commands…they are very smart and could easily learn more commands quickly!  If you’re looking for a pair of loving companions who will keep you entertained and your home full of warmth, Zsa Zsa and Lanza might just be the perfect match! They are both up to date on vaccinations, spayed and microchipped.  Their adoption fee is $400.00 for the pair.  If you would like to add these cuties to your home, please visit our website at:  https://pwrescue.org and click on the "Adopt" button to complete an application.  Pathways Home Animal Rescue October 8, 2024, 5:39 pm

Story
Mama Chica Hi Mama Chica is full of pep & loves to run like she’s a puppy. She is FAST, her playstyle is rambunctious & a little mouthy. She loves playing chase with either her humans or another dog - even a larger dog. If there are no toys laying around she will pick up an adult shoe and take off with it, but she has not chewed up anything at home with her foster family. She would probably do best with children over third grade because she jumps very actively for attention and might knock a small child over. She has spent lots of time with an 11 year old boy and does fine as long as the child understands giving her space until she is ready to approach. Mama is not afraid of playing with a large dog & will taunt them to play with her. She is pushy but needs a slow introduction & supervision until the pecking order is established because make no mistake Mama definitely wants to be alpha. She does growl and snap until the other dog realizes who is calling the shots so it’s best if other dogs are non-reactive. Mama does do some resource guarding with food & should be fed separately from other dogs. She gravitated toward foster mama first and it took her about 2 weeks to establish relationship with a senior GS & 18 month old Doberman, both males, and foster dad, but there was also a litter of 5 puppies present for the first three weeks. In the evening Mama does want to curl up on the couch next to a human & warns other dogs off but settles down once she is corrected. A good thing is Mama can be very cuddly, likes to wait on the bed while her human takes a shower. She sleeps peacefully all night in a small kennel at foot of the bed but does not like to be shut in a separate room. Sleeps almost 9 hours at night, also lays in her kennel voluntarily during the day as her “safe space“. At bedtime we say “Go to your kennel. Go to bed“ and she goes straight in with no fuss. Mama is let outside immediately upon waking, potties outside & in urgent times mostly hits the potty pad dead on. Mama eats 2X day about 10 hours apart then immediately goes outside to do her daily business twice a day. Very seldom has an indoor accident. Riding in a car the only place Mama feels safe is between the drivers legs which is dangerous, so it is best if she is kenneled in a car. With regular daily practice, she is perfecting walking on a leash. Sometimes she gets distracted out in the wide, wide world and spins, so a halter is better than a collar when walking. If Mama Chica is the only dog in the home, she will need to be socialized often or she can be possessive of her human. She has a very loud BARK! We say we don’t need a doorbell. we have Mama Chica! Best if her adopter does not live in a home with common walls.
